    I like it! The FA-50 with BVR / AESA capability should be more economical to operate to conduct regular patrol over our EEZ. If working in conjunction with AEW&CS it should be adequate to provide immediate response, while providing info to vector our limited number of MRF.

      In hindsight, the newer block of the FA-50 is already an Mrf in essence. The aircraft can perform the same thing as a dedicated mrf though the only difference is the payload, an Mrf like the Fighting Falcon and the Mrf can carry more than an FA-50. But, the bigger the aircraft, the bigger the amount it needs for flight per hour and with this the FA-50 will end as economical to operate. Thanks for commenting.

    ❤❤❤ love to have more fa50 but need to install Mach 2 engine and single crew to provide larger fuel tank at the back of the crew..

      If KAI will introduce a more powerful engine that can reach mach 2 it's a real possibility, in which we believe they will in the future, thanks for commenting.

    All i know is the MRF and LCA acquisition has a separate acquisition plans, and separate budget as well, and the PAF, is determined to acquire at least 36 units of MRF's, and at least 12/24 units of LCA's which is required by the AFP to PAF, to acquire to gave them selves a minimum aerial firepower to gain initial or minimum aerial defense capability as of to date,

      The latest number of both LCA and Mrf are already revised, though we're not in freedom to specifically state the exact number, but the number submitted now by Paf already reflects the "reality". It's good to have more Mrf, but the reality is it's expensive to "sustain" them. The amount to sustain one Mrf is already equivalent to sustaining two LCA. Our economy is not that big compared to other countries operating Mrf, they have "tons" of money they can use while the country only relies solely on fund given by the government every year with little amount from the proceeds of military land use (BCDA). And this type of fiscal support actually will not help in acquiring, even in sustaining modern Mrf, yes we can have Mrf, but not that many as we all wish and defense is not the primary concern for government allocation every year, it's all for education and social services needs. Unless our economy will improved that much, which our neighbors are doing so to support their militaries, we can't really sustain a modern armed forces. Thanks for commenting.

      The FA-50 design before, is a single seater aircraft that is designed as a light fighter and it's called an F-50. But KAI opted for a two seater configuration in the end because they want this aircraft primarily as LIFT( Lead In Fighter Trainer), those are the aircraft where a pilot would train first before transitioning to Multi-Role Fighter Aircraft. But the latest variant of the FA-50 if we check the specifications is already a Multi-Role Fighter Aircraft. Poland is buying FA-50 to replace their Mig-29 Fulcrum which is an MRF, that's how good this aircraft is for them. And if advancement on the F-404 engines will be available for the FA-50 or they will be using a more powerful new engine for this aircraft, it can reach mach 2 speeds. Thanks for commenting.

    Philippines to proceed for Saab Gripen not FA-50. F15 and F2 from Japan is on the move. F16 from US is on the move. All the are coming in for Philippines Air Force with in 4 Year's. Forward Asian Tiger. Forward Philippines. Become Powerful in Asia Pacific. 💪💪💪

      American-origin technology like the F-15 and F-2(JASDF derivative of the F-16) will still need approval from the United States Government, this is the same with Romania in 2014 when they have 12 F-16 Block 15 from Portugal and this year 32 F-16 Block 15 from Norwegian Air Force, the transfer proceeded after the United States Government has given the approval, this is called third-party transfer. The only approval that the United States government has given to the Philippine Air Force is for the sales of 12 F-16 Block 70/72. Though we believe because of EDCA and those additional 4 bases that were agreed upon this year, much more leverage will be now given to the Philippine Government, especially in terms of equipment. Yes . Mr Kim good friend of Phil.& truly wanted to help being a good salesman. If S.Korea can equal defense technology of Sweden in MRF & performance, but @ lower cost, then let it probe in Ukraine.

    If the upgraded fa50 will use the GE f414 like sab engine...fa50 is much better for me because it is lighter then it will be faster than saab gripen

    • @bonscue2438
      @bonscue2438  Рік тому

      Yes, FA-50 is lighter than Gripen, and if the upgraded variants will use the F-414 engine it could reach mach 2 speeds. Though there is one thing that Gripen has that the FA-50 doesn't have, Gripen is a STOL (Short Take OFF and Landing) aircraft. Gripen can land and take off at a maximum distance of 400-500 meters and can use roads without necessary support like putting arresting gear mechanisms to shorten the landing distance, it doesn't even need drag chutes. Though we hope FA-50 can be configured to be a "runway dependent" aircraft in the future, Thanks for commenting.

      @@nilcasgelay2277 , there are arresting gear mechanisms made that can be used for military jets that is going to land on roads, and this is mobile too. It's not only aircraft carriers that have such equipment. It's created so that fast jets can land on roads especially on combat conditions when it is expected that runaways will be hit during wartime conditions.

    36 to 48 units of FA-50s is an air force to watch with US trained pilots..

    The Philippines is importing rice, meats, fishes, vegetables,etc, and that's a fact.
    You want us to spend the people's money on buying trainer jets instead of trying to improve our economy first? Somebody is not thinking.

    • @bonscue2438
      @bonscue2438  Рік тому +1

      Actually, that's the reality in defense spending, like most of our ASEAN neighbors did, their economy is more robust than what we have because they used their agriculture as a fueling factor for it. Both Vietnam ang Thailand are one of the worlds top exporters of rice, Indonesia and Malaysia has minimal deposits of oil and gas. We, don't have the same luxury actually, the sad thing with our fiscal needs, we solely rely on revenues and taxes, and we are one of the worlds top importers of agriculture products, imports that used foreign currency. Unless something will improve with our agriculture, industry, and the economy in general, we will have minimal defense spending, there's the fund but it's not enough for everybody.
      We can have defense spending, which is a vital thing for the country, but it will not be sufficient to provide for all the AFP branches, it's not only the air force that needs modernization funding, but the army and navy too. The thing that this country is experiencing now, being bullied by a much powerful neighbor is because of the country's neglect for sufficient defense spending for many decades, now we see the results of it. The country is trying to catch up with modern equipment for Afp but as we said earlier, it's not enough for everybody.
