The driver line-up in this race will be amazing. Alonso, Norris, Stroll, Senna, Lauda, Winkelhock, Hunter-Reay, Dixon, Bourdais, Fittipaldi, Juncadella, Frijns, Rosenqvist, Magnussen, Nasr, Bamber, Tambay, Cheever, Pagenaud, Castroneves, Di Resta, Da Costa and many more will be competing.
With Alonso on the 24h, I cant wait to get 8 hours worth of complaining on the radio.
I´m a fan of Alonso but that made my day :D

Christian Fittipaldi, Sebastien Bourdais, Gianmaria Bruni, Jan Magnussen, and Pedro Lamy. Fisichella did it last year, as well. Also it seems like half of the Formula E drivers are doing this. Would have been worth mentioning.

PCars2 isn't a full sim, but It's quite close
pCars 2 sucks though lol Terrible physics and force feedback. Not as bad as Forza but almost. Wish I never bought it. Unlike pCars 1 there's no fixing it.
Tijn van den Broek I beg to differ. I play iRacing, Assetto Corsa, and now PC2. It is as much a sim as the other two. I like all 3 but playing PC2 a bit more currently because it's newer. But when it comes to debates about racing games we can't really point to many facts. It's opinions that dominate and we are entitled to our own.

Max van Laar truth be told Alonso has as much chance of winning as he would in a McLaren Honda, the DPIs are a lot quicker around Daytona the the P2 spec cars.

The Nürburgring 24 hour race isn´t part of the triple crown of endurance racing. It is also not as old as the three mentioned.
Well, it's never been part of the WEC or its predecessors, I think that's a big factor. Plus Sebring and Daytona are older races, having been run since 1950 and 1962 respectively, while the Nurburgring has only been run since 1970. Plus the Nurburgring is more amateur-oriented. And honestly, if we're including GT-only endurance races, I think the Spa 24H has a better case for inclusion, it's been running since 1924 and it was part of the original WEC twice.
More endurance on this channel! It would be amazing if you do your "race rundown" but for IMSA and WEC aswell!

Hugo Stiglitz in testing Sirotkin ( on the softs) was that far behind Kubica and stroll ( ultras or hypers not sure which) it was only about a second or two

In terms of driving skill, he could win, but unfortunately the United Autosports Ligier won't be able to keep up with the Cadillacs or Acuras.

Ligier lacks the pace for Nando and company. Still possible, but the Caddy's, Orecas, and Acura's are damn fast

Qualifying is over. 0.111 seconds covers 1st to 3rd in the Prototype class while the first 13 Prototypes are within a second of each other. Fernando qualified 13th.

Well Cadillac with the Dallara and Acura with the Oreca have the best ground platforms for their cars, but it also depends on the BoP. The Joest Mazda was btw the fastest car in FP1 with Rene Rast behind the wheel.
It's oval racing with a chicane thrown in. Length of track? Do they have DRS or do they only rely on engine power or slipstreaming? Would have liked to have heard about refuelling, driver changes and tyre choice. How does the hp compare to F1 cars?

The LMP2 cars are a lot slower than F1 cars they are a lot cheaper though that's why a lot of them will race. Then there are even slower GTE's / GTLeMans and the there are GT3/GTD cars.
These cars don't have DRS.

It also has over a mile of road course at the start, no DRS. Pit stops are about every 40 minutes, tyres are often kept on cars for multiple stints and drivers also do multiple stints. The Horsepower varies form car to car let alone class to class, but it is lower than F1.

Alonso deserves to finally win something. As one of the greatest drivers ever in shitty cars and leading the 500 until honda struck again.
He wasn´t leading when his engine broke down.

He won't win. The other drivers there like Van der Zande, Castroneves, Albuquerque are better than Alonso in the protos.
