- I hope you saw the video of Darryl from @MissAnniesHomeandKitchen teaching Harold how to make a dump cake. It was too funny. I decided to test Harold's knowledge by having him help me in the kitchen today as we made a Pineapple Dump Cake. It turned out great!

I make a dump cake with crushed pineapple on the bottom, cherry pie filling on the pineapple, cake mix spread evenly on top of that & the butter on top. The cherry- pineapple is my favorite dump cake.
I have too but I didn't add brown sugar

I have a simple recipe using a 21-ounce can of crushed pineapple (donot drain)and an angelfood cake mix. You mix the two together and bake in a 9x13 at 350. Check at 35 min.bake longer if necessary til lightly golden brown and springs back when touched in the middle. It was so easy and delicious. Mama Sue, I know what you meant when you said you were in Louisiana now. When the video was posted, you were there. Poor Harold didn't understand. Lol. Anyways, have a safe trip back again. 🙂❤️

Mama Sue, I have a recipe I'd you to try. They are easy, and delicious:
Low Country Cherry Squares
Line a 9 x 13" baking dish with whole graham crackers, breaking them to fit, if necessary.
In a saucepan, combine together over low heat:
3/4 C. butter (1 1/2 sticks)
1 C. sugar
1/2 C. milk
1 egg, well beaten
When combine; slowly bring to a boil; stirring constantly. Remove from heat, and add:
1 C. nuts, finely chopped
1 C. coconut
1 C. graham cracker crumbs
10 oz. maraschino cherries, drained, dried, and finely chopped
1 T. vanilla extract (you can use 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 1 1/2 tsp. almond extract, if desired)
Mix well; spread over graham crackers in prepared baking dish. Cover with additional layer of whole graham crackers, breaking them to fit, if necessary.
Topping
1/4 C. butter, softened (1/2 stick)
2 C. confectioner's sugar
3 T. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Mix together; pour over top. Chill for several hours, before cutting.
Great dump cake.

Until Darryl started making dump cakes, the only one I'd ever heard of was with cherry pie filling and crushed pineapple with some chopped pecans on top. I can see now that it's like a Gooey Butter Cake, you can have lots of different combinations. Darryl said he had a dump cookbook coming out--he already spilled the beans!

Hello is there a where to do this same recipe in a muffin pan for individual cakes
We were camping 1 day & decided to work the butter in the cake mix. It was like the texture of Cornmeal. It was wonderful! I have tried melting the butter, but didn't like that.
