probably all the black grid work lines and the shape of the craft made me think of the logo and i've never watched full metal alchemist :)
That is one of the most unique and cool looking chambers I've seen AND it has wacko Ngeruma-friday mechanisms in it! Pure gold, my friend.
Yeah having to make a frankenturret should be a more common mechanic it's fun and gives them an actual purpose

it's nice to get out of Aperture every so often, even if it was just to another of their facilities, this one had a nicer view than usual though so there's that :D

i believe the ship is reminding you of the ship from "2001: a space odyssey", mostly due to the general shape of the ship, i may be wrong.
I think that was what i was thinking of at the time because of the part that looks like it should spin, but i've actually managed to track down the ship used in this sky box, it's the "Twelve Colonies of Kobol Zephyr" from Battlestar Galactica

This is what happens when you give someone the hammer editor and a thousand hours to make a map. Wow..
Mostly around 100 hours over the course of 1 to 3 weeks, but some I've done longer.
