  • This is Part 2 to show more of the build in action and hopefully answer some questions I was receiving from the first video.
    If you want to check out my full explanation of the build, here's Part 1:

    The 2000 Toyota 4Runner is a perfect blank canvas to build out a micro camper. My wife and I wanted to extend our camping season into the winter months without being in a tent in under 20 degree weather. Not only was the truck comfy, we had a great time with the build out.
    If you have any questions about the build or suggestions, please leave a comment!

    sweet set up. I've got something very similar in my 02. I will say the rain guards on the windows are clutch as you can leave them pretty well cracked for ventilation. (mine came with, not sure how spendy they are.) just ordered some of those bug screens that slip over the door frame for mosquito season. excited to test em out. And thanks for the reminder to make the window insulation...I keep forgetting to do that. Happy Adventures!

      That’s great! The mosquito nets come in clutch so need to get some of those this season for sure!

    Great video! What have you found to be the best way to get in and out of the 4Runner while using the sleeping platform? Is it awkward to access?

      Good question. I’m 6’2” so anything is a little awkward. I enter and exit on the side doors. There’s no pull for the trunk. Plus our heads are up by the seats anyways. I store my shoes under the platform for easy access.

    Hey! You're video I great but I have a hard time understanding how you can access your spare tire if it's under the platform?
    And how do you secure the platform to the car so that it doesn't move around?

    • @OutdoorGoyo
      @OutdoorGoyo  3 роки тому

      The spare is under the truck, not the platform. I dunno if you have a different vehicle you’re trying to do this with? And the platform doesn’t move at all if you follow these dimensions on the website. Others have secured the platform to the tie downs in the truck if you’d like to.

    Could you explain a little bit more about how you made the hole so the screw from rear ply fits in hole in the upper ply?

    • @OutdoorGoyo
      @OutdoorGoyo  3 роки тому +3

      Yea, I marked a few spots on both board when they were flush together. Then I put screws on one board, without screwing all the way in leaving about an 1/4” of the screw exposed. Then I drilled holes on the marks in the other board. Hope that makes sense. I made two videos about this build so if you haven’t seen the other check it out.
