from a new player perspective, i could probably give you 10-15 ideas on what is tedious or confusing or otherwise. i found Armour to be a nightmare, ranking them, understanding what was better than another, even just knowing where i can and cant use jetpacks, like on what piece of armour can i install it. datasets we've made over time don't even have Civ Eng or Botsmith added for comparing or seeing stats. ngl dude theres a lot missing these days the websites to check prices is missing new stuff, not new new stuff, old new stuff. the wiki is outdated, under-filled and utterly useless half the time and youtube mostly has guides dating back to 2019 lol, its a different game now so yeah lookin forward to see whats coming :)
Keep an eye out for Vault 77, located just south of Hayward. At vault 77 we keep the residents of vault 76 in mind, cheap Rare plans, unique once in a lifetime sales, ever want a t60 jet pack? Ultracite jetpack. Find em at vault 77 for only a single bottle cap. 💯
I happened to settle a little bit north east of Whitespring, before The Pitt arrived, I didn't plan for commercial success... And then they made it expedition and free fast travel location, my vendor is full of visitors since then.
Its a game. Forget these 40k+ items or God forbid paying real money for an item or weapon... It's a game people give out deals and you will get deals. Items I see other players selling for 20,000+ caps I've sold for less than 2K 1 million item cap item doesn't exist ( sure there a small group of you that wanna believe they do)... lets get real and I , now there are rare items in the game and even super rare but like you said they should be traded. I hear a lot of talk about the different color dresses.... you are talking about maybe 1% of the players collecting these dresses, and for something so super rare, I rarely see them displayed. This isn't The Sims.... Lets get back to Fallout 76. Put items up for a decent price keeping it real not crazy. Price an item for the same that you would pay for it. Take the recent Meat Week items.... Weenie Wagon ... Fossilized bones ... and oh God please not another kind of plushie The weenie wagon & Fossilized bones aprox. 2500 caps each. Stop w the 20K - 25K prices ! The plushies will always be 1K - 2K items. Same with the Pepper Shaker plans.... I sold 2 plans for under 2K caps each, and yet I see them out there for 15K +/- ( For a middle of the road weapon, come on ! ) .....and before I end this long-winded rant rave, our max caps amout should be 100K ( should've been from the start ) Yes, also an item weapon plan, etc. Is worth whatever a player is willing to pay for it. I love Fallout 76 just like FO4 before it, so I'm definitely not a hater. I just think we should help each other out on the items. Just price things at a reasonable price. Now my rant and rave is almost over.... thank you for the video & lots of good info (a few I might not agree with), but still lots of good info... especially for the flood of new players because of the Fallout TV series and the big update coming this month. max CHR, max Hard Bargain, use CHR mentats, and sell. For player vending, would recommend looking at local vendors for how much they're selling. I like quick selling, so I just do 150c for 1*, 250c for 2*, 500c for 3*, and 1000c for Grolls (maybe 1250c for PA Grolls)
I would do some research on the best rolls per weapon so you can price them appropriately. It takes some time to find a buyer for your groll, but they DO sell.
I have the maximum selling price without grape mentats, and I'm not even bloodied. There is a perk that gives +2 charisma per teammate. With this, hard bargain and charisma 15 loadout I find grape mentats are not helping at all because you already have the best prices for vendors. Serum recipes are for 17500.
This is the best vendor video! It's content creators like you that are helping me to finally enjoy this game. I played at release and in 2020, finally things are clicking into place, and I am really enjoying all aspects of the game. Great job and thank you!
I wholeheartedly disagree with you telling anyone that there is a reason to only have one vendor. These types of videos are typically watched by new comers to the game, not veterans. I can't count the number of times that I get to a new player's camp and I am standing in line behind that one player that is going through the vendor line by line (Not saying that being careful is wrong). Just saying that this kind of advice ends up wasting a lot of people's time. Also, I am always looking for plans that I don't know. But, when I see a base that has 1500 plans (for example), I will typically skip it because you can be sure that there will be 20 common plans with 75 duplicates each. You're not doing yourself any favors. Limit your duplicate plans in your vendor to between 2-5. If you want attention for your vendor, have a few 3 star weapons/armor. That will bring in more players than anything else.
Maybe it wasn't clear. The advise was that if you have millions of caps worth of stuff, limit to 1 vendor. The first time you have 4 people spend 40k in the same second and you lose all that stuff and caps, you'd under stand
@@MrMorp76 Right, I understood that. But my point was more about the audience that this video will likely attract, which is newcomers. Over the last few weeks, I've coached quite a few low level players on adding a 2nd vendor. It gets frustrating at times. I've been capped out a few times and it does suck. The other day somebody bought one of my Fancy Shotguns that I had over priced, just to have some 3 stars in the machine and I lost out on around 4000 caps. I was not expecting that. LOL I appreciate the responses and am glad you didn't take my comment personally. Not sure if you've done an "etiquette" type video. If you haven't, I think that would be something to consider. i.e. don't hide or make difficult to find vendors, don't place those silly rad remover arches at the only door to your camp/vendor, etc...
@@MrMorp76That's why you don't ever put too many big ticket items up for sale. Especially if you're already close to max caps. I have 2 camps I can switch between. With one having vendors the other does not.

Been trying to minmax a price as low as possible trying to sell serums to other new players without them being bought out by a high level one and must say that overall players in this game are very nice and it been very rare for someone high level to buy out of the things they can see not as a intended bargain for them.
Unfortunately, there will always be those players who buy other people's items to sell for a higher price. I do my best to price most things for the every day joe. I've never understood pricing things out of reach for most players. That being said, I typically sell serums for 250 caps when I have extras. That seems to be a good median price.
Finding the right balance can be tricky. lots of times people would come buy entire stacks, then i would go to their base and see they posted them all for 10X the price. Who knows if they sold, or how quickly
@@kurewe Buying for resell can be an corner stone of making caps though. Once you know a good price for things, if you come across someone selling something you know you can instantly put at the correct price on your vendor and have it sell, then for sure rock and Roll. As long as it is a price that will sell. In the long run buying and selling at a price no one would pay, you will just have weight in your stash, and a vendor spot taken up, and people seeing dumb prices will not come back to your vendor

@@andrewmarshall1396 I tend to price things by ease to get, and time spent. 500-2000 caps can be done very quickly in the game. Things that take longer and harder to get, the price goes up. God Rolls, and Ultra rare items, things that can take thousands of hours to get in game, become Trade Only level.
These ARE pretty good, but my god is there no chance in hell i'm devoting a camp to telling someone i don't care about that i'm out of caps lol, lets be real, we're all cool to each other in the game, outside it its still just two shit kickers who'd never help each other lol, in the real world, people suck. remembering that is worth A WHOLE CAMP here.
Don't forget, it isn't for them, it is for you. if you are maxed caps and still have your vendor open, people can still buy your stuff and you get NOTHING. You Lose the stuff. Too many times I went to switch my camp to another location, but it was blocked by some one else's camp, which meant my vendor stayed open.
@MrMorp76 I'm super new and just set up my 1st shop last night, had no idea what to price stuff so that's what I did, everything is prolly Hella cheap tbh. Everything is priced at least half or less of whatever the price started at.

GRolls are worth 20k+ quit giving them away. I have the caps and the ability to use the gun, unlike a new player. Don't sell yourself short.

This guy's prices are higher than anywhere else. Asylum yellow dress is 2k caps at most. Nothing is a million caps or even trading for equivalent.

@@naturalpowers not much, it is a 2 way to star, 2 stars are for aiming, and 2 are for vats. so 10-20k at most. hard to sell though.
