FYI, that one item wasn’t the door off a safe. It was the desktop unit that retail stores used to use for processing/producing your credit card receipts.
We had no idea! Learned something new today, now I wish we would’ve taken it with us 😃
I laughed when they said that. I was thinking “how can you not recognize a credit card machine?”. But then I remembered I’m getting old, lol.

Loved the French treasures. Can’t wait for more exciting locations. Nikki will have lots of great scenes to shoot.
I have a suggestion for you. When I magnet fish, I use a plastic ice scraper for windshields to scrape all the magnetic sand and little metal scraps from the bottom of my magnet. It really makes life a lot easier. I hope this helps.

That was an intense magnet fishing episode. I can't believe how much you all found. The historic pieces wow! And course you can't be too far from Amsterdam without finding a bike in pieces. lol. All of you are awesome and you def made me laugh and cheer everyone on. The dog is adorable and I thought at first he/she would follow the magnets and jump in, but thankfully didn't. :) I can only imagine what you'd find if you all were able to be closer to the castle along that waters edge. :) Can't wait for part two and your road trip as you all travel.

I have 2 German pistols that my father got during WW2. They both have leather holsters. One looked like the one you found. They call it a vest pistol. It's really small that officers carried. My dad took it when he liberated Maulthausen Concentration Camp outside of Vienna.

From the size of it, it looks like a walther p38. Friend of mine has one for his re-enactments he does.

Edit: I found the model! This used to be a Samsung SGH-E840 from 2007.
From the looks of it this device is reasonably uncommon. Cool find!

Ive taken old axes like that and restored them and made a new handle. That would be a really cool axe to restore. I did one that was in similar condition and instead of grinding and machining it down to get all the rust pits out i ended up using a heavy wire wheel on the bench grinder to remove the scale then i got the edge all worked out and reshaped the poll/butt and cleaned it up a little with the belt sander then I polished it with some buffing compound and it turned out really cool the patina turned out super nice after it was polished up the rust pits sorta turned black and the high spots turned shiny silver it actually looks really natural its kinda hard to explain but it turned out way better than sanding all the pits out. You should save that axe head and clean it up and hang onto it maybe put a handle on it some day if its still able to be worked, i know sometimes stuff like that gets really brittle after it dries. Thats actually a really cool find.

The chunk with the coin & cannon ball is called a 'concretion'.
These often occur when dissimilar metals are in contact with each other in an electrolyte solution like that silty canal bottom or sea water etc.
So cool we could get the coin and cannon ball out hey! 😃
Living in the US, I have plans to travel for retirement, but here…now I’m thinking “hey, a trip to France might be fun!” 😂 that was so cool! Now I really want to find my own cannon ball!

Hi 👋🏻 Leigh and Niki, sorry I am just watching this 4 days later. I had an accident in a grocery store. I was trying to reach something I thought was going to be what my son wanted. I climbed up 3 shelves while my brother was holding me then my brother let me go as I was climbing down. I lost my footing and fell backwards to the concrete, hit my head and my back! I went to the emergency department they x-rayed my head, neck and back. It was a concussion 🤕 and arthritis in my back. So nothing to serious,but boy did it hurt! 🤣🤣🤣 I will be turning 61 on Wednesday the 14 th and a very blessed woman!

The "safe door" is a credit card imprinter. That handle on the top slid over at 2-3 sales paper and the card and imprinted it. Old school ;)
