7:54 the ability also allows you to target a creature, so it being no artefact makes no difference. You should have read the card. But also, your creature has protection from permanents which were cast this turn. The creature the enemy has was cast this turn. He should have read the card too. And...the one ring is indestructible. You should have read the card.

I always say, Emrakul isnt actually that strong because so many things Can kill it, like the Balrog almost did. If only they read the card and let it stay for a turn it would have killed the Emrakul easy, but people don't read.

Its weird that it wasn't able to do it when it did die because it's not a triggered ability of a permanent by that point.

"He should have read..." he explains that Emrakul is not an artifact... himself not reading the ability that says "artifact or creature." It couldn't target Emrakul for a different reason.
Then he says you can destroy the one ring...which is indestructible. All while telling his opponent to read the cards.

For the ones who are wondering, the Balrog CAN destroy creatures. The issue here is that the Balrog was cast that turn, attacked his haste and died. Since Emrakul has protection from permanents THAT WERE CAST THIS TURN, Balrog could not target her. But thank you Chris, for playing like a dingus and still making fun of your opponent!
"Protection from permanents that *WERE CAST* this turn." It's a small distinction, but it means that it doesn't have protection from tokens, lands, or permanents that were "put" onto the battlefield with an effect like Monster Manual, Brought Back, Second Sunrise, Dance of the Manse, etc.

I think perhaps you didn't read. Balrog destroys artifact or creature. Emrakul has protection and the ring is indestructible.

Why do you have such easy opponents in platin? I almost always face blue red aggro decks that end on turn 4 and really painfully struggle for get wins.

No definitely!! I saw a few gameplays on game knights and commander at home and the howling mine sheoldred combo is deadly. I cant remember who exactly had what but howling mine for one player and sheoldred for another, everyone was losing life to draw 😅

Hmm might try this deck but replace 2 emrakuls with 2 newlamogs due to not having 4 copies of emrakul but it looks fun and ive been looking for competitive eldrazi

why not just add fling for a one shot O.o
Why not just attack into Teferi with Emrakul? No matter how many Teferis he had, you could have removed them before they could do anything while sending Idol to face. Slower win but better if he doesn't misplay.

the guy could have bounced Emrakul with the teferi that entered the battlefield the other turn.... then cast the second teferi and done whatever.... instead, he made the most nonsense play ever.

Idk, misreading that badly with the entire balrog interaction is where being a dingus stops being funny for me. I love chris, but at that point, it almost feels like hes going out of his way for the dingus bit. *Shrugs*. Hate me below.

Uninstalled this garbage yesterday. Even when I was winning matches I just wasn't having fun. Just salty ropers and bug abusers. Go figure that one of the worst parts of the game turns out to be the other players. RIP WOTC - ILY Mono and am glad to see you still having fun :)

Why tf does it cost mana to use the one ring? The solution is to ban cards. Alchemy is the killing arena
Holy shit i had to downvotw this video because of the attitude of the guy. Saying read the card while simultaneously not reading the card is such a douche move. "Oh he thinks this is an artifact." Balrog kills creatures. "Maybe he'll deatroy my one ring which would be good so I don't lose life" ring is indestructible. Its absolutely infuriating that for reasons you don't understand he was unable to do the thinga you said he would want to do.
