Ι am Greek, living in Northern Ireland. Irish people are indigenous not anglo-saxonic tribes. English started sending Scotish and English to the island to raise the numbers of protestants. In my eyes the Northern part of the country is under occupation by the British. Ulster or Northern Ireland was the least populated part of Ireland, it was mainly uninhabited. There were population swaps between Northern Ireland and Britain going back thousands of years. The idea that Britain's invaded Ireland is a short straighted history lessons. Hi back a little further and you'll discover Irish from Ulster populated Western Scotland, they even shared a Kingdom between the two. Some may argue the Britain's were simply returning to their homeland in Ulster. My point is...it's way more complicated then just British v Irish that kind of argument maybe simple but it's not factual at all.

The Annals of Ulster for example states the population in all of Ulster was around 30,000 of which half were nomadic meaning they moved around Ulster and wider Ireland. If you look at the settlements in Ulster at the time they were few and far between. That was life back then. It was the same in Connaught for example... Ulster wasn't any different.
@@simonwiggins8570 you have this partially correct - Scotland derived it's name from the Scotia that inhabited from the northern part of Ireland whose people did in fact move there. But there was a concerted effort by English kings to remove the Irish from the North and even the area of Dublin. Much later in the 1920's peace was only obtained when the Irish of the South agreed to allow for the establishment of Northern Ireland with only 6 of Ulster's original 9 counties which guaranteed a Protestant majority in the North for the time being. I have nothing against Protestants as I have relatives from both sides. But the bottom line is that most divisions in Ireland were sown with English seeds.
