    Picked up an 07 model of this bike with the full fairing same as yours, around 3 weeks ago. Excellent bike! Aftermarket exhausts are definitely the way to go to making it sound better and it could even add a little more punch. Mine came with a Delkevic 200mm CF slip on - not technically road legal but it sounds real meaty and adds to the aesthetics.
    Great video though pal, keep ‘em coming.

    On my 2017 SV, I got insurance quotes for £650 at age 23 with no NCDs with one theft claim. The cheapest insurer I took was confused why it was so cheap, in the end they increased my excess for the same premium. When I looked at the MT07 or ER6F/N, my insurance was £900+ reaching £1k+ xD that was a definite pro for me.

      +Pod Rider damn. That ain't a bad price. The price on mt and er range is insane. Yeah I would have avoided them bikes with them quotes. Mine this yr with 3yrs no claims was £220 fully comp

    Good review mate. Holy crap the size on that exhaust though, didn't realise it was that big!

    • @Phantomic
      @Phantomic  7 років тому

      Hey mate thanks. Yeah, that thing is massive. I can't wait to shed the weight of that thing. The bike will lose a few kg I reckon and look sleeker in the process.

    I brought an sv k8 last year saying I wouldn't do much to it... It is currently now sitting on gsxr 600 suspension wheels and breaks as well as A new full exhaust system and power commander... Fuck my life

    Awesome vid mate I remember being on the m4 with you and your brother was on the back of your bike at the time and the bike didn't struggle in any way
    it just gets on with it and it carried you both with ease

      @Phantomic  7 років тому

      Yeah, I remember that on the way to the M&P Day. The bike ain't no slouch I can say that. He wanted to go home in the car as his arm were tired from holding on lol.

    I've an Aprilia RSV1000 2003 and I'm selling my boring CBF500 second bike, it's either one of these SV's or an ER6F. Both have similar power and similar prices. The SV is looking like a more sporty option which is good for me. The ER6F is more user friendly. Difficult choice for me look at your review.

    • @Phantomic
      @Phantomic  3 роки тому

      Sorry for a late reply. It is a difficult choice to say least but there is the naked model to take a look at also with a more upright position but if you are set on getting the sporty version. There are kits out there to swap handlebars for a comfy position.

    Nice to see your bike for a change, yeah zorst is a game changer.

    • @Phantomic
      @Phantomic  7 років тому

      +Moto Joshing thanks mate. Yeah I don't show the bike off enough. The zorst has never bothered me as it's a quick fix. I am just fussy trying to find the right zorst for me.

    i had a v twin alot of torque low down but mine struggled at top end but then i saay that easily do 80 quickly. i like the paint scheme on your model haven't seen many with punstripe

    • @Phantomic
      @Phantomic  7 років тому +2

      That low down power is just so useful for commuting, nothing beats it. I would say mines similiar 80-85 and starts to slow down. Yeah the paint scheme is k9 blue seemed to only done on this model as far as I can find out. Only other years I have seen with that were custom painted.

    33BHP isn't pulling power bro.. Get an 07/08 ecu off ebay for like 150 bucks, = 75BHP it's an enormous change..
    Brakes - ebc rotors and pads with braided lines.
    Suspension - ZX6 shock on rear and 20w fork oil with adjusters screwed down.. Problems solved !!!

    • @Phantomic
      @Phantomic  7 років тому +2

      Well as my licence is restricted I can't atm have anything over 46.6bhp which is what the bike is currently restricted too. Mine is throttle restricted not ecu restricted. I already got pads and lines ready to go on the bike. For suspension the zx6 and gsxr shocks require you to cut the tool box on the bike, Which I refuse to do. So my only option is buying a 3rd party that was made for the bike. Which is turn is the more expensive route.

  • @curtiscurt

    I claimed to have a restricted bike but I just tippexed 33bhp on the full power ecu

    • @Phantomic
      @Phantomic  6 років тому

      Mine is throttle restricted. Honestly, I wouldn't have even bothered with tippex. If you pulled over and the officer just doesn't care they will just make you dyno the bike to prove it is restricted and ignore most documentation. If you do crash and the pick up totalled and unrideable they won't be able to dyno and prove otherwise. As it doesn't really cost me that much more to add it to my insurance I always make them aware of it.

    great review you should watch spicy110 s videos he as done some great videos as well
    any im doing my bike test soon and i was wondering what you would surest for a frist bike bike im 33 so i was thinking !000cc but iv spendt the last 17 years on a 125 cc what would you surest power rise

    • @Phantomic
      @Phantomic  7 років тому

      Thanks. I do watch spicy also. As for your first big bike the CC isn't that big of an issue. I would says its more based on the power delivery. So if its a Sport bike you will be riding at higher RPM. You can't go wrong with a 600cc commuter like Fazer, Hornets, Bandits and XJ6 but if you really want 1000. Fazer, SV1000, CBF1000

    Would u say this is as bad to ride as bikes if u think about the seating position ? I am looking to get one for myself but not so many naked sv650 around so many sv650s tho.

    • @Phantomic
      @Phantomic  5 років тому

      I personally don't get affected by the seating position, It is not as gentle on the wrists as a naked but not as aggressive as a proper sports bike. Very nice middle ground. The best advice is going to a showroom that has one in stock and ask to sit on one and get a feel for it.

    What is this restriction you are talking about?

    • @Phantomic
      @Phantomic  2 роки тому +1

      The restrictions are the from the different licence categories in UK. A licence is unrestricted. A2 is restricted to max 47 bhp, bikes under 92bhp can be restricted to meet this requirement.
