In this episode, I am riding from Bundi, to Rusirani, a small community inside the Sariska Tiger Reserve. On the way, I pass through Jaipur, the Pink City. I see camels on the road, elephant, water buffalo and stay with an incredibly hospitable Indian family in the country side. I will never forget this day, and seeing so much of my beloved country that is India..

India is a country that on paper should not function because of it's diversity but in reality functions perfectly well, perhaps because of it's diversity. Who better than Noraly to help us explore the real India and help us understand this magnificent country ?

For people who don't know, this is not just any village, but a village inside a reserve forest, a protected area...there are special permissions for people of different tribes and clans in India who are completely dependent on nature for most part and still kinda live a primitive life, to live inside a protected forest area. So, you can't possibly get any more rural than this in India. India is a land of peaceful cohabitation, anybody is allowed to live in the way they wish and homogeneity or a particular way of living is not enforced upon...This is the reason why you don't see homogeneous urban or rural scapes that you see in other countries. People, animals all live in their own way, sometimes in separate landscapes, sometimes all simultaneously, which creates a complex multidimensional layers...which is what makes it so hard to be perceived by the foreigners. Noraly has began to get these layers and that's why she connects so well here.

The class system is alive and well in India. People are very much constrained by the class of their birth.

    • @shrenikmehta89
      @shrenikmehta89 6 місяців тому +41

Class systems exist in every country on earth. I think you wanted to refer to the caste system. Yes, that is one of the biggest issues still affecting India. But everyone realises that and the country as a whole has the laws in place to change this system. But it'll take a couple of generations to get rid of it, as it's been more than a thousand years that this system was in place. It'll take a few generations at least to leave it behind.

    • @Amuzic_Earth

@@Gail-gf7km I think u mean caste system....and the intensity of it varies depending on where u r...it's practically non existent in cities. It's also non existent in North East and in Bengal. And even where it exists, it doesnt affects social day to day life. Nobody is constrained to anything because of their cast...the only exception is marriage where some society do enforce it...again it's not universal, doesnt exist everywhere, doesn't matter in all generations. Our PM himself is from so called backdated caste...and the president is from a so called lowest rung of tribe...so u can guess nobody is constrained. If anything so called lower castes are given a lot of reservations and financial incentives in govt institutes in study and in profession...

As far as I know you cannot be confined by law. You can do anything you want anything you want to become (except terrorist) Rather it will be a BENEFIT for you to be one of ST ( SCHEDULED TRIBE), SC (SCHEDULED CASTE) , or OBC ( OTHER BACKWARD COMMUNITY). For example in National Exam if a GENERAL CATEGORY students compete Lets Say ENGINEERING EXAM ( WHICH IS ONE OF THE TOUGHEST EXAM IN THE ENTIRE WORLD) :
GENERAL CATEGORY / UNRESERVED CATEGORY CUTOFF - 91 PERCENTILE ( Don't confuse it for PERCENT)
ST CUTOFF - 30 TO 40 PERCETILE AT MAX
SC CUTOFF - 36-50 PERCENTILE AT MAX
      OBC- 50-75 PERCENTILE AT MAX
SAME FOR EWS (ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTION)
ALSO THEY WOULD PAY ALMOST 1/4TH THE FEES THN GENERAL.
NOTE THIS IS VERY CRUCIAL WHEN YOU ARE COMPETING WITH 1.2 MILLION CANDIDATES for around 200k Government COLLAGE SEATS.
There are Plenty of PRIVATE INSTITUTES BUT FEES THERE IS HIGH AND YOU WONT GET INTELLIGENT CROWD AS YOU COULD GET IN GOBVERMENT COLLAGES ( THERE ARE CERTAIN EXCEPTIONS)

@@shrenikmehta89plz understand what he means when he refers to caste system in India before saying yes. People in the West have been fed this propaganda through their media for the countries they have conflicts with or whom they don’t have any well wishes for. In our case, caste system is referred as someone born in a particular caste is confined to that particular job and he can’t climb up the social ladder which is obviously couldn’t be farther from truth.

15% of the people fall in the dark triad categories, and these are the people who create most of the world's problem. So, yeah 85% of the people on our planet are not bad. Out of this 85%, 15% are genuinely good people, who can never do any bad, the 50% in the middle can be invoked, incited or influenced to do either bad or good work, but all these 85% people's default state is to be at peace. So, yeah we are good for most part. It's just that bad people are loud and we have negativity bias which is further enhanced by the media exaggeration and hence the world seems so bad....when in fact the world is becoming better and better in 95% metrics, because the majority of people are still good and want good to happen in general.

I feel like nothing is accidental and every shot has meaning. Japan society changed completely not due to colonisation but by interaction .
Maths reached to Europe from India via Arab not by colonisation but interaction .
Persians learned maths and philosophy from India by interaction not colonisation
Urban civilization started In South East Asia by interaction with Indian traders and people not colonisation .
Civilization learn from each other not by colonisation but interaction .
Do not justify colonisation by such loose , inhumane and flawed logic .
If India would not have been colonised then today world would be 500 years ahead in science and technology .
Industrialization in India would have been started in 19 century .

Awesome video, love the fact that you are travelling through the villages , avoiding the big cities, India remains unexplored especially for all the bikers, there is a great offroad experience, and huge diversity in landscape from snow capped mountains, deserts , rain Forrest its not just about the tourist places , its almost an experience of travelling the whole world in just one country , just like its the only country where you can find Elephants, Camels, peacocks and if you are lucky an odd tiger during the same day

I love the way she just boogies right through the zig zag traffic and keeps on talking like a cruze in the country.

Hey Noraly, excellent video, the homestay arrangement is great...it's so good to experience the reality of life for local people...they are not putting on a show for the tourist! Bloomin exciting to be in Tiger 🐅 country! Cheers Steve 💚
