i found this very useful thanks however the first sling i made the pouch was to small and i couldn't launch stones of the proper size as they kept falling out. I would recommend making 3 loops at the beginning and weave between them to make a larger pouch, i used 20ft of paracord. I used the exact same method though, thanks for the guide and i hope this tip helps.
Made this for a presentation on ancient Egyptian weaponry. Got A+ and half of the grade was for the sling, so it was awesome. Thanks for the good grade, it was fun making it too. I still have it and use it when I'm out in the pines. Accidently hit a squirrel once though.... had to take it to a vet. It actually isnt as easy as it looks. How did David kill a giant with this thing??? Lol
Shepard hebrews practice the sling at an early age and they use the sling to kill wolves, boars, and bears from so they don't eat the sheep, an experienced hebrew slinger can sling a rock from 110 feet away with the velocity of a 9.mm bullet, all it takes is practice
During The battle of Thermopylae the Greeks didn't have many casualties until the Persians sent the mercenary slingers. This was the only thing that got past the Greek shield and armor until they where surrounded and betrayed. I will have to look it up but these where probably used during the time of firearms, maybe not on the battlefield but for hunting and self defense. Shepards in the middle east might still use them, traditional ones with respect.
i made one of these a few years ago while i was waiting for more paracord in the post, was making bullwhips. they're really hard to use if you're thinking of making one.
i'm looking for a tutorial on how to tie a paracord buttstock/shoulder cushion on a lever action rifle, i have a rossi 92 and would like to accent it differently than anything i've ever seen. can you help?
Strongly recommend not tying the string to a single finger. If youre running and the sling gets caught on something its gonna hurt! Lay the string across your palm with a knot at the end by your little finger. Make a fist and the knot will be outside your hand drop that string between index and middle finger. Make a knot in the other end and that will be your release to be grasped between index finger and thumb. The pocket should be at least 4 times bigger so you can try gravel, pea rock, broken glass, old nuts and bolts, as ammo. Youll never notice a bigger pocket and it will give you much greater ammo options.
Why do people use fictional characters as as a real example? Giants didn't exist and all of a sudden went extinct like the dinosaurs 🦖. The stuff in the bible didn't actually happen,so quit using that book as a reference.
Why are paracord vids always WAY too descriptive, going back over and over and over and over the same shit. Or they just jog right through, don't zoom in, cover everything up, barely explain anything and usually the explanations are pretty vague. Theres no middle ground its either shitty instructions or unbearably annoying

Made it. 1. Recommend ~15’
2. Make it tight from the beginning otherwise you will have problems.
15 feet huh? wow.

This would be neat if you could wrap if into a bracelet and then unwind one end to use it as a sling.
Thanks, I've just started practicing a few days ago, so yes a noobie. That will help a lot, and now i can do a basic weave. Great 👏👍

Neither of those are hard to use
Your making a sling with a thinner pouch than the one you used in the thumbnail. I wanted to learn how to make THAT one.

What's the accuracy with this loop method does it drop or is it about the same?
If you continue this long enough you could make a belt I bet
would it helps if you use atwo nails and a piece of wood to weave that ???
by using the sling, David killed Goliath.
Nope David used a sword to finish him off
Fantastic show of poor sportsmanship. Challenge a man to a sword fight and he pulls a sling.
@@brandonfoley7519 then took his head
@@MagnaOmerta well he is fighting a giant, he didn't have much of a chance

Very good! !!
If you make test rock sling it was be cool
Mine ends up a bit triangular, smaller in the start and wider at the end. Bleh.

So incredibly frustrating to learn stuff like this. You gotta take it incredibly slow and treat me like I'm 5 if I'm ever going to make it right.
How thick is the wire?

Fernanda Lira It is paracord. It's a standard thickness. About 1/8"-5/32" (5mm).
omg if this works
It does work a d it's so fun
