L'orchestra, uno Stradivario, Antonio Pappano, che meraviglia, e...Beatrice Rana...oohhhh che musicista stellare 🌟 Grazie, grazie grazie di cuore per questo Schumann che tocca l'anima così profondamente! 🙏
This is the best interpretation I have heard from the Schumann Piano Concerto so far. Beatrice is not only technically brilliant but she fully understands the "feeling"W behind romantic music. Fantastic.
Returning to this, I truly believe this is one of the bravest, most sincere, most masterful and most moving performances in all of music. Also, wonderful work from the piano tuner.
Far comprendere in modo limpido temi e strutture musicali e insieme trasmettere l'anima della musica, senza inutili funambolismi, è un dono di pochissimi. In così giovane età, oltretutto! Quanto studio, equilibrio e compostezza, quanta meravigliosa arte interpretativa! Si rimane sempre col fiato sospeso ad ascoltarla. Grazie
Thank you so much Beateice, cause you played the Schumann- concerto with a large range of space and more time to make me cry like a young kid! I never heard since many many years like this. It reminds me on Wilhelm Kempf who also avoided always playing too fast. Beatrice: your cadenza in the 1st movement was perfect! You‘ve shown that you understand the architecture of the composition playing the main theme in the left hand as a reminder. My T-shirt is full of tears because of your emotional self- control to make the piece more transparent to your audience! Finally in you I found a deep and true musician besides all that super fast playing pianists of our times. Bravo Beatrice Rama!
You describe it so well. Isn't it amazing that emotional self-control ends up conveying much more emotion to the listener? I return to this performance again and again; it's a priceless lesson in consummate musicianship.
Even better than her playing in Albert Hall, better sound and better video production. I have always had a hesitation about this Schumann piano concerto, too romantic perhaps, but hearing Beatrice Rana in this, well, my hesitations is sort of swept away. Her gentle playing makes me believe in Schumann, both his sane and insane moments.
And please play Schumann‘s fantasy c- major and Kreisleriana! You got the knowledge and the right feeling of that fireworker Robert who kissed heaven with so much passion before he became a suicidal case. And than please enlighten me please with Scarlatti and Clementi! Your performance is so sensitive, deep and true!
Oh Rana. I wanted to blow you a kiss too. What an artist. I keep wondering how different and how much harder it is to perform for empty seats- it's not the same. But thank you for still giving everything.

I honestly believe Rana is one of the most talented and sincere pianists of her generation

Agree about the production, though marginally prefer Andrew Davis's touch to Pappano's on this one. Both great though.
Grande interpretazione, Rana!
