People have to understand something when talking about pricing of the ZX4R , it is a Japanese bike, here in Japan there are different levels of bike license. The 4R is in the "middle" class and it is the limit of it, so it lets people access an almost 600cc performance bike in a mid class license, that's why it is priced the way it is. If you want anything above 400cc you have to pass a different license which is more expensive and everything cascades ... that's why the 4R is expensive, it is kind of a cheat code to ride a "big" bike with a mid license.
@@MrTotorokawa very true for countries with the license restriction, in that case it’s a cheat code. But I still believe in Canada at least it’s priced a bit too high
My previous 650 i was easily able to pull away from 600s too off rip, until they caught up. 650s low torque and low power but just earlier in rev range. Fun bike though. Zx4 looks interesting as a concept and good bike in other countries but seems stupid unless its going to be tracked to me. Tuning it would certainly help. But agree it sucks when you have to pour more money into something you just bought. I'm buying a zx6r tomorrow If it all works out.
@@pinhead4166 yea the torque of the 650 is really useful for everyday riding. ZX4r would shine on the track but even for that I’d rather have a 600. You’ll love the zx6 my friend has one in black
Even tho the ninja 400 makes a better street bike. I’ve had all kinds of bikes over years and I hate to say it but parallel twins make best street bikes
@ unless you highway ride how often do you get to ring it out not that often unless you’re being stupid. I have a cb 1000r and you can rip it without doing silly speeds
The ZX4R has virtually the same number of parts as a ZX6R, but slightly smaller parts. The manufacturing process is still expensive, why not be thankful it's a couple thousand less?
Honestly sounds like a whole lot of user error not doing their homework. If you're a beginner, get something cheaper and easier to maintain like the Ninja400/500 preowned, get comfortable, learn the basics of maintaining a bike and move onto a bigger bike in couple of years time. US/Canada is the only place where the ZX4rr comes restricted - if you purchased it not knowing this, that's on the buyer. Here in Japan we have 3 tiers of the ZX4 so we are able to buy the base bike without the fancy suspension if you wanna save a little and none of them come restricted. They are 80HP+ from factory.
@@shibapatrol801 very true but most people unfortunately don’t do the research, my car burns oil so I’m very used to it but some people follow the manufacturer oil maintenance recommendations not knowing you should be doing it a lot earlier
I’ll prefer z900 because the price is almost same !! Zx6r is expensive and the insurance will be expensive too !! So i’ll go with z900 though i like faired bikes more but no problem 🙂I’ll get used to and after sometime i’ll upgrade to a ltr class s1000rr or zx10r 😬

If you're not ok with the torque why did you buy it lmfao. As for the tune how about you do your research before you buy it. As for tires i also knew these tires don't inspire confidence. I have a 2024 zx4rr 40th anniversary edition in Canada n unlike you i did my research prior to buying it.
@kamscorner9766 fair enough. Tbo with all the horror stories I've been reading about engines exploding prematurely it's starting to freak me out a little.

Way to expensive in aus my dealer want 15 and a half grand.
Also, don't forget insurance cost less for a ZX4R compared to a ZX6R.
Your right, but I still paid around $300 a month
And it’s going to cost you a few grand to get a proper tune on that motorcycle. They restricted the hell out of the North American version
Yea its annoying
You got a good price. I bought my ZX4RR used with 1000km as well. I paid $9900 + tax

Twins are the best for the street but nothing beats reving to 16k rpm

The problem is after a tune it’ comes out to around the same price. It should 2k more than a ninja 500 not , 700 less than a zx6

I can imagine, because the insurance on the 6 is higher so most people probably end up with the 4r

Quote it on insurance companies, don't use your actual email and phone number
