The 20th Century bikes reach me on such a primal level. I see them and they look "right". They look as if they weren't made by man, but born into a species of their own and interact with us like horses and dogs. There is just something so perfect about every line from any angle. Then again, look how ornate the automobiles were, too compared to now where it's basically a $60k phone.

S McQ owned more Triumphs than any other movie star ever, he insisted that they would be THE bike in any movie he did that had a bike in it(he even had them written into the script of some films), even The Great Escape, it wasn't a BMW or DKW that did the jump it was a modified Triumph ridden by Bud Edkins.
Fyi he also dressed as a German troop & chased his character Hiltz in his bid for freedom.

Please don't make the mistake of thinking a Road bike is anything like a Works built Race bike, they may have the same capacity but the power they put out & the way it is delivered is totally different, both the FireBlade & the 916 are spectacular bikes, but the track versions are monsters & definitely not for the faint of heart, but in the hands of a standout rider, they are something else completely.

C’mon, guys- you can do better than that…
