This was my tank! BRICE IS THE BEST!!! I will note that 3 other local PDR guys all said it was impossible to fix. The last gentleman I spoke to said, "I can't do it, but this guy can!" and proceeded to give me Brice's number. Besides being incredible at his craft, Brice is an equally nice human being.
What is the cost on this type of job?
@@BSZTEX
If I remember correctly, it was around $700
Hi Tom,
I’m one of the techs that told you it wasn’t repairable due to the contour and thickness of the metal.
I truly apologize for that, I was wrong, obviously, lol.
I didn’t know of Brice back then or I would have referred him to you.
So glad to see someone did get you to him.
He’s a humbling tech to guys like me that have been doing it for so long.
After chatting and messaging with Brice the past few months I agree he is a genuine person with skills that go beyond comprehension.
Again, my apologies for the bad information I gave you at the time.
What would it have cost to replace? Thanks.
@@1lorddevn THEY ARE RIDICULOUSLY OVER PRICED FROM HARLEY!
Like smack the salesman, then apologize cause you realize he didn’t set it. Lol
Then after you pay up to and over $1000 for A GAS TANK, you have to have them paint it because they don’t sell their paint so you have to have them paint it also which use to run $750ish.
You could find a local painter to do it but it won’t be a perfect match.
I’ve owned 1 Harley. That was enough. Now I stick with Kawasaki and Suzuki.
I feel so bad for giving customers bad information on these kind of tanks for so long.
I actually past on this tank and told him it wasn’t possible due to the depth, contour and strength of the metal.
I’m just glad he found you.
Great job dude.
The skill this guy has is crazy. PDR jobs blow my mind honestly
Still so amazed every time you post a video! Your work is flawless and I am glad I was able to hire you even for the small stuff on my Evo.
mpbiv421 ... thank you again for your business and it was also great meeting you. Didn’t know you had a channel... just subscribed👍🏻
Having worked for a large automotive manufacturer and working on the inspection line in the paint area; you'd be shocked how many of your new vehicles have experienced very similar repairs at the factory. Granted, as stated in the video, vehicle panels are much more malleable and easier to work with. Performing this type of job on a painted vehicle is a phenomenal skill even on thinner metal. This was very impressive.
Amazing! Im picking up an '07 Harley Road King tomorrow that has a small dent in the left side tank closer to the seat. I may have to get with yall to pop it out. Thanks for the video!
Man, I have a lot of respect for what you do.
That’s freaking amazing work
My word, you have one heck of a talent!
dude this is freaking art !
Im so glad you’re in Florida. Will be in contact.
Beautiful job!
Fricken bad ass brother. I picked up a 2011 gsxr600 from Copart and did all the repairs already the tank has a linear dent and I think I have enough access with the tank cap unbolted. Sadly thiers rust on the points of the rust so gonna body hammer and work it up out and watching this makes me feel a bit better as I have one pdr pick I found in a car at work lol 😆
Brice is the best! He performed an excellent repair on my Audi R8!
R8 Drvr ... thank you again for your business and it was great meeting you!
Amazing job fellas
I am truly impressed. I honestly didn't even think it was possible to be able to repair a dent in steel without damaging the paint job in any way. What would a single dent like that cost a guy to have you repair it like you did??
Thanks for checking this out. We used industry guidelines based on size and factors. This repair was roughly $600-650 if I recall. Sometimes PDR won’t be the most cost-effective route, but it’s always the best if you’re trying to preserve the bike’s factory finish or patina in some cases.👍🏻
@@cfldentrepair just fantastic work. There's definitely a place for it. I will be searching for a service like yours before changing the gas tank on my bike if something terrible were to ever happen. (Knocks on wood) some paint job needs to remain original. WELL DONE 👏
Amazing!👏👏👏
Nice stuff my dude. In the near future I got a couple of gas tanks to repair.
This is art
This was weirdly satisfying to watch.
Looked good even at 75%
Nice work 👍🏼
wow that was amazing ..
Damn. Nice work...!
Amazing techniques.
I don’t comment on many UA-cams but WoW this is a bloody awesome job 🤩 was searching how to fix a tank dent on a bike I bought. Might replace tbh as it needs a lot of work but you have some fair skills in pdr!
fair skills ? .. dude
That was Kool
More of a question then a comment but what would something like this cost, great work by the way
can you tell us what tools were used in this repair?
Was that a proper tank holder Brice ? Held it firm.
As always great job Brice! Why didn't I start working with glue technology at the initial stage? After all, it turned out a lot of cleaning at the finish line.
Ремонт Вмятин ...that’s a great question! The reason I did not use glue on this repair is because Harley Davidson paint adhesion is not the greatest, unfortunately. Usually glue pulling on these tanks will result in the paint delaminating and completely coming off in some cases. Glue pulling is possible on motorcycle gas tanks, but only on certain types.
@@cfldentrepair There is a powerful cold glue(Liquid terminator). We work with them on Harleys, and so Yes, the varnish on them is very hard and brittle, not like on cars.
How much is this? Mines a little more on the side and not so much in the curve up front.
How does the paint not crack ?
How the hell do you remove a dent by hitting on it like this? Fukin good stuff guys.
Basically knocking the high stress areas down to release stress incrementally over the course of the repair.....and I forgot to mention grit and determination 😉👍🏻
How do they dent them without a scratch? I understand the groin area xD
Unreal
I have an 86 Honda rebel 450 that I can't find a tank for. It's not as bad as this but man. I'm scared to mess with it.
I think you took the dent out of my Alfa Romeo about 8-10 years ago.
Problem I have is there's no opening in my big raider gas tank and a replacement is 2k if they even had a replacement even used people are wanting over a grand for none matching paint
How much did this repair cost?
Do you have a video of the same procedure in a not so easily accessible area?
Working on it.👍🏻
Where are you located?
typical cost?
What’s the price on that repair??
how much for this on a 2014 road king cvo
I just dented mine today. Could I send my tank to you for repair? It’s a smaller dent than this one right around the same spot.
Sure. 386-216-5185
Hat did you just do with that tapper thingy lol
Wow,what tool did you start this dent with?
Ultra Dent Tools soft tip
What I wouldn't give for an access hole like that on my 83 VT750.
Was it all just finessed tapping with that hammer and punch to get the final look?
It’s actually a combination of both finessing from the back side with rods and knocking down any high points from the outside to achieve that final glass finish. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for sharing!
I need you to fix my gas tank
I wish you were local to me. I need a big dent fixed

@@cfldentrepair dude awesome! Thanks for the info. Will definitely be giving a local tech a call! Appreciate you 👍
@@adamcopley9860 You’re welcome. Hope it all works out.👍🏻
How do you restore coating on the inside ?
Is it bad if theres no coating in the inside?
How do you prep a tank for Dent Repair as far as taking it off the bike and cleaning the fuel out?
Motorcycle gas tank/ fender prep instructions:
* tank must be totally dry
* tank/fender must be dismounted and mounted by customer
* any additional parts must be removed in order to mount onto motorcycle gas tank/fender stand for repair (Tank must be completely gutted. Fuel pump, hoses and harnesses need to be completely removed.)
* you can either drop off tank/fender or ship
*additional $50-75 fee is included in price range and applies for mounting motorcycle gas tank/fender to Tank/Fender Vice and badge removal if necessary
@@cfldentrepair Thanks Brice!
@@RobertBlair-yu7qz you’re welcome 👍🏻
Is there anyone in southern California you can recommend for these repairs?
Following. Lmk if you find someone. Thanks
How much did this particular job cost?
If I recall correctly, it was around $650 with size and all factors considered.
How do I get a quote from you to repair my gas tank?
Text video of the damage to the number in video. Thanks
Very very seriously doubt anyone would simply pop a dent out like that and get a near factory result. The metal is stretched fro the dent, popping the dent out is only going to reveal the stretch with an outward bulge.
If you’re having a hard time believing this one, then you definitely won’t believe this one 😄ua-cam.com/video/cIuHl0qohAw/v-deo.html
@@cfldentrepair I don't believe any of these "paintless" "body shop-less" repair videos I see actually. Simple physics says it ain't possible.
@@BillySBC there are people in this world that are laser-focused and passionate about what they do, almost to the point of it becoming an obsession. Nothing wrong with bending the laws of physics every once in a blue moon. I’ll take your disbelief as a compliment. Thank you for stopping by to check the videos out.👍🏻
What would a repair like this cost??
$650-850 typically on a dent of this nature.
I have a dent in my tank when I dropped it. Dent is half of this and Harley said can’t be done must buy a new tank 🤣 of course they want me to buy a 1300 tank
Rumor has it the customer laid the bike down the very next day.
This was my bike! It got damaged in the trailer during an out of state move. The base of a mitre saw stand fell and that is what caused the crater. Brice is the best!!
How much was this job?
A lot.... that's why he won't tell you. It's probably 400 bucks
If I recall, this repair was slightly over $600👍🏻
Awesome repair, amazing work. How much does something like this cost? It's literally the best possible way to repair. And makes bodymen look like monkeys bashing things with rocks. Fyi I'm red seal autobody tech. New to the righteous path of being a pdr tech.
Dan Hesselgrave vv. fg. nu8 ...thank you for the support. Yes, it is the best solution if it’s possible. I will never look down on a body man because I know that what they do is a skill and an art as well. Welcome to the world of Pdr and I wish you the best on your journey👍🏻
f*ck me. How did you do that? PDR after is incredible. Greets from Poland.
Many years of failure from practice....the repetition of doing these jobs on a consistent basis will lead to the honing of skills👍🏻
No way..

Nope, but I will certainly take your disbelief as a compliment. Thank you! 👍🏻
I looking for the best repairs kit for Harley davidson gas tank if you have any idea please let me know, thank you
Wait, a Harley tank has an access panel on the bottom
Not normally. This was where the pump was mounted on this newer model. 👍🏻
