    Just remember the grind is like planting seeds. Then you have to continue and water and weed those seeds. Until your "plants" start sprouting up. AND THEN. You STILL have to tend to your crops until they start producing fruits. It's a marathon not a sprint. Keep your head up and keep grinding! ❤❤❤

    I just had a baby and am dreading going back to a 9-5 job that I don’t care about and is not fulfilling whatsoever. I work as a fraud specialist in the financial realm at our local credit union that services all of middle GA. I’ve always wanted to get into photography and during my maternity leave did some research on cameras and bought a Fujifilm X-T3. Your videos are actually what inspired me to go with the Fujifilm. It’s just hard because where I live, there aren’t many nice places or outdoor areas to go take pictures. I used to live in Browns Summit, NC and miss it so much. North Carolina is an AMAZING market for photography. So many great places to take photos. I’m hoping to eventually start my own photography business but it will be a while before I get there. I just want to do something I love and know I can be proud of and make a living from. I want to show my daughter that if you work hard enough, you can make your dreams come true.

And as far as a collab goes, yes I would love that haha! Love your stuff, and would love to pick your brain about audio editing. That’s the hardest part of my video workflow so far haha

    This was truly encouraging. Thank you for your openness. Question, what was your process for defining your personal brand?

    • @jbivphotography
      @jbivphotography  5 років тому

      For finding my brand it took a lot of time of really opening up to myself and thinking about what it is I really want. Don’t hold yourself back and thing you have to act or be seen in a certain type of way. That’s the number 1 thing that held me back at first. Not being myself. After that it was really just trying to figure out my voice and what it is I really want. Also, finding copywriters and people to ask you questions about your brand really helps you answer things you’ve never thought of. That’s just a bit of it.

    • @jbivphotography
      @jbivphotography  5 років тому

      That’s awesome. Finding your niche really can be one of the hardest parts. When I started I also shot a whole bunch of things. I’ve just found that finding what you enjoy the most, and also what you feel like resonates with you the most should be what you dive mostly into. Remember especially when it comes to marketing yourself and selling yourself most people like to see a master of an area not a jack of all trades. It’s also easier to really lean into your market when you’re just showing one thing rather than splitting up your clientele and possibly confusing them because you do so many different things.

    When you first started in photography, how did you build your portfolio?

    • @jbivphotography
      @jbivphotography  5 років тому +1

      So my portfolio is an ever changing thing. I feel like I'm always curating it and changing it up. But I feel like it took about 2 years before I had a solid portfolio. When I first started basically I would post anything that was good and then after that I would start culling it down a bit once I got better work that showed more of 1. what I was capable of and 2. weddings that fit more in my style.
