I like this. Manga Studio/Clip Studio has had a doll feature for years, but nothing as detailed as this.
Dude, thanks for checking out this software. I just need something I can use to do things like rough out poses and make sure I can get the proportions right as well as skew them for things like Werewolf Transformations, etc.
Yay! You actually used DesignDoll! :D I was going to say there is the option to change the proportions but you already figured that out, ahaha. Hopefully that will help with Gilbert, so I'm looking forward to see the changes. :) Great video, as always!

They have free poses on their website you can use on that program.
I plan on doing a LOT of commissions on DA to get this program. & this video is what lead me to that program. I'm actually thankful this exist because, not everyone has a model in real life to reference from.

I've been wishing for stuff like this for a LONG TIME! I've always been a decent artist but over the years I have lost my passion for drawing and I always had issues with bodies interacting and such. I also suffer from ADHD.
But now; There's these things with posing models. This would take a lot of time and guesswork out of drawing a good human form.
Designdoll appears to have some issues but the fact that software like this exists would be a great help for my artwork.
3d max/Softimage et al, are expensive packages and for the price Design Doll is great! It's the ZBrush of the quick posing software world.
I used Poser for years for drawing overlays with the right proportions, but Poser is slow and not that easy to use for manipulating meshes quickly. DD is a breeze to use, has an innovative system (I especially like the hands/leg controls) and even a kid could figure out how it works in minutes.
I think this one will become more and more popular in the coming years.
This thing has paid for itself so quickly, worth every penny.
This program offers so much more :3 u can make a semi transparent screen of ur doll and make this in front of ur drawing program, so u can sort of copy the pose even more
And u also can change the anime proportions ^^‘
wait.. how do you make it semi transparent?
I'm using DAZ! in much the same way. In addition to poses that come with the (free) software, you can buy separate bundles of pre-made poses. v4 of Design Doll was just released. At 80 USD, it's still a little steep...
I remember when i first used the demo version of design doll, it is cool and all but very limited if you don't pay stuff, but seriously it is very very very useful if you own a full version, you can literally just make your own dolls proportions and if you wish, just lazily trace all over the place, even cartoonish proportions (you can adjust the arms, the chest area, etc.)

If you got the full program you can use the models from the Atelier, just copy and paste the DA code and voila! Loaded inside the program

Can I somehow use this with Sculptris? I would really like to work off of a model and not have to start from scratch every time I create a person/creature.

I have a feeling that specific model would be the most useful for anime artists xP. Anime characters tend to be like 70% legs.
This one is actually pretty realistic, except for the head. I live in Belgium, most girls are healthy and look like this :) again, except for the head :p
You can always modify the size of the legs
I was asking myself the question, when you save it, does it save in .stl file ? in .obj file ?

Is there a good alternative for mac? I really wanted to get this kind of software but then I found out it was only for windows. I was wondering if you know any good alternatives.
Are there any other requirements other than computer specs that I should be aware of? I thought I'd ask because I heard something about a license key. I don't know what that is or whether I need it to use this program or not.
Hello Borrrrrrodante, i have a problem with my STAR 03 PEN TABLET , when i draw in KRITA the pencils and some other tools need a lot of pressure to draw, but if i increase the size it draws big lines, any idea?

Man I still can't believe that it's impossible to open a savefile in the free version. I know they gotta earn money somehow, but man that is the one feature I truly needed, as I can't afford to spend half an hour tweaking the proportions and body every single time I reopen the program.
I even went to buy the full license, but then see they only accept paypal which I do not use..

Only problem with this is that the default bone settings are anime mode. You can adjust the proportions but it requires manual manipulation.
Plus it's fucking 79 bucks for the proper version... The price point is not exactly big on value proposition, should really be say 35-45 USD. 79 is way too steep, hell maybe 50 dollars?
Looking at the date it was probably the 112 dollar price. This is a useful app but totally not worth the money for the features you get.

Daz3d is also similar but this one is easier to pose! but Daz is free! and the normal genesis characters suffice! plus you can turn these renders to lines in photoshop by using stylized filters!
you should test manuel bastioni lab for blender. it''s completly free and much better :)
or even better because it is more evolved make human with mhx2 plugin for blender (completly free as well) :)

The first thing I did when I found this program? I made two mannequins fuck. I am very... immature...
Side note, it helps IMMENSELY for poses and construction for drawing. Crazy good. Kinda dumb that it's 70 some dollars just for the ability to use a pose you save/other people's poses. Ridiculous.

Sad truth.
One of my friends suggested design doll to me too and I got to say that I love it but the posing is a bit aggravating and you can't take a .jpg of .png of the full doll when you're done if you're using the free ver.

i use screenshot when i done posing ^^..my way of cheating..then paste that screenshot in paint and save it like a pro :D

okay but, do some research on their website they have great tutorials thath show how to changge the proportions, you can actually save your models and "panel" I guess , check out the website, it can be a great tool
Try DAZ studio (Daz3D.com). It is a lot easier to use. It is free with assets you can purchase. Though for figure reference, you don’t need anything more than what comes with it. And you can save your work.

I can't open it !! It says "An error occured during program startup" and it proposes me to install Microsoft XNA Framework Redistribuable 4.0 or DirectX End-User Runtime. But I don't know what to do, can someone help me please ?

Designdoll is a nice program only that my computer cant handle it so, imagination and refference pictures for me! :D
+BORODANTE I dont think its the program, my computer is pretty old and most programs are glitchy because of that :/
