To me, Sunny's childhood message lead to creating a connection between her and Izzy similar to Rainbow Dash's Sonic Rainboom in G4. Izzy was kind of the catalyst to the Mane 5 creating a friendship with one another. I think maybe we might get an episode about when Izzy found Sunny's message and perhaps this message was Izzy's source of optimism and it gave her hope that friendships with other pony kinds are possible because there is a pony from Maretime Bay that would like to have a unicorn or pegasi friend.
@@somerandomdude7785 She did give us a few facts in the movie about her finding it. I guess to be more specific I meant like how and where as well as a visual capture of the moment and her reaction like a flashback episode of sorts.
Oh, man. I got so surprised when that time has come to be revealed of that childhood message since my first time seeing the movie. So these events of the film has lead Sunny & Izzy to become amigos & bring the 3 kinds of ponies back together again ever since Sunny knows the story of Twilight Sparkle's origin & the rest of the Mane 6 from who knows centuries ago. That part inspires me & I agree with Izzy that if she doesn't want the adventure to end then so do I.
Maybe that’s why Izzy’s always so positive. In the movie we see that the other unicorns are depressed and maybe Izzy used to be like that until she found Sunny’s note. That’s when she believed that there could be magic out there and make new friends on the other side.
Appreciated the brief moment where Izzy looks disappointed, perhaps almost hurt, when Sunny interrupts her attempts to have a tea party with her friends. With what she said about her sparkle being a little too bright for Bridlewood we can guess that she failed to make friends in Bridlewood growing up and was motivated by the drawing and desperation to go looking for friends among the earth ponies despite still believing earth ponies were dumb and stinky. It seems like the only unicorn in Bridlewood who could tolerate her energy was Alphabittle who had his own energy-unfortunately, his extreme competitiveness that his energy manifested in might have made being friendly with him difficult.
I can totally relate to Izzy when she said her "sparkle" was too much for Bridlewood. Growing up I was probably too out going with not enough tact or awareness of personal boundaries, and so inadvertently drove away most of the other kids I tried making friends with.
@@muffinpaste It would be rather convoluted that all of Izzy´s family was also "conveniently dead" like Sunny´s (given the size of her cottage). It is more likely that her family could not "endure" her anymore, but failed to convince her to just "move out" & live by herself elsewhere (building her own treehouse), nor any other unicorn wanted to take her as their roommate; so instead EVERY other member of her family left (probably one by one), until she found herself living alone in that big "clanhouse". After a few months in solitude (waiting for them to come back), she finally took possesion of the place, "cleaning it out" of all the unnecesary furniture (like "extra" beds) to make room for all of her arts&crafts projects [this is when she rediscovered that old letter]. -> "Briddlewood" is the name of the whole Forest ( "Izzy´s Villa" is separated from Alphabittle´s "Crystal Tea" by half a mile or more ); so the rest of her family may be living now around another hamlet much farther away (deeper into the forest).
I really am excited for Izzy because she is my favorite character, but I see a lot of people saying she will be the new pinkie pie and I really hope that doesn't happen. Pinkie was just too outgoing and I feel like her character ruined moments from G4 that could have been more heartfelt. I hope Izzy is going to be the kind of character who can find a bright side to situations, but also won't make everything a joke. I want to see Izzy be able to spread creativity and still have more emotion than "there's always something to laugh at in every single moment" I don't want Izzy to be a pinkie pie I want her to be Izzy moonbow, she's her own character and I hope to see some wonderful personality
When people say she is Pinkie I think they mean more the archetype as in she has the same archetype rather than being the same character. But yeah I agree I hope she doesn't turn into Pinkie because she was too much for me too.
Personally I disagree about pinkie. She's 100 percent my favorite however I can say when I say izzy is the new pinkie I'm more referring to a elemental standard. If any of the main 5 were to be compared I'd say Sunny is twilight Izzy is pinkie Pip is rarity Zip is rainbow And hitch is a mix of apple jack and fluttershy. (The weird animal thing he's got going on xD) Of course all these characters are drastically different too Sunny isn't as learning delved or obsessive Izzy isn't nearly as bonkers Pip isn't as whiny and stuck up Zip isn't as cocky And hitch isn't country or super shy.

I actually wondered if Izzy was the pony that found Sunny's letter from the get-go, but the reveal during the campfire scene was very sweet & touching, definitely showing that not everypony was scared of the idea of becoming friends with others. I audibly went "Awwww" when she revealed it. But yeah, Izzy is my hooves-down, favorite pony so far. Her craftiness is something I can relate to, but her optimism & energy are so contagious. It's hard not to smile whenever she's on screen, whether she's making a joke, saying/singing something, or even pantomiming. I really would like to see if maybe Sunny's letter was actually what kept her positivity & motivation high while other unicorns just moped on the loss of their magic.
One thing I've been wondering is if Izzy was moping around like every other unicorn until she found Sunny's message which when she discovered that another pony kind would like a unicorn friend it renewed her with optimistic energy and hope. Sunny's willingness created Izzy's silliness. Just a thought of mine.
Izzy has Pinkies energy but that energy is refined with Rairity like craftsponies eye. I honestly think she knew the other ponies where tarified but acted oblivious to that fact hopeing to find someone who wasn't. And she succeeded. She found Sunny. Wile not with fasion Izzy is excellent crafter. I want to see what she can do with more useful materials then macaroni. Especially now she has magic to help make things faster. We'll have to wait and see.

I don’t know about you, but izzy is giving me an abandonment issue feel. she obviously doesn’t seem that way, but her almost child-like personality could be a way to cope with it. she also made friendship bracelets and she wears one of them, but had no friends. izzy also said that she never got to try out her flower tea table with ACTUAL FRIENDS. she has a post it note on her mirror saying “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME” and I don’t get a good feeling about that. she lives in a slightly cluttered place and doesn’t really think about consequences of her actions. she is definitely mature, but she doesn’t appear that way. she also states that she “doesn’t want the adventure to end,” and she isn’t referring to going back home after bringing back magic, she is referring to losing the friends she made after. izzy obviously needs a hug, and I think that it would be really good representation for a main character to have a less than perfect past life or childhood.
Izzy is new best pony hooves down Edit: I believe that the campfire scene was the best part of the movie. In that moment, everyone's determination to bring magic and being friends was set in stone. Even Hitch, who was so dead set on just heading back home was on board.
Respectfully, I think that Zipp and Hitch are my favorites. The dry sarcasm and gallows humor is more my style, but you can blame that on me being a former Marine.
If you think about it, that drawing could very well be a parallel to the rainboom: something that set everything in motion. Without that drawing, Izzy would never have had a reason to go to Maretime bay in the first place, ultimately leading to the absence of the mane 5 as well. Now, we just wait for the misunderstood antagonist to travel back in time in order to prevent Sunny sending that drawing.
Izzy is my favorite of the Mane 5, I can see why people are comparing her to Pinkie Pie, but for me she's more of a unique character of her own, she's fun, cute and playful but she's also clever and talented with art and crafts, she also has some hippie vibes, that I love. I hope in the series she acts like a hippie version of Rarity, she's always crafting objects and gifts and uses her crafting abilities to help her friends.

It is implied (by the background elements) that Argyle used Grogar´s Bewitching Bell to siphon all the magic of Equestria into the "Earth Diamond" crystal [then he hide it "in plain sight" as part of Sunny´s fancy bedroom lamp]. -> Sunny was a small filly when he finished it, so Izzy probably also remembers having magic.

I thought a really cute moment they could have done was when Sunny is sad and at her lowest point, have Izzy show up with her own version of the drawing and give it to Sunny. This would have been a great call back to the campfire scene, and a way to remind Sunny that even without magic she has friends in the unicorn forest now. The new drawing even could have been delivered by a balloon while she was sadly looking out the window, a call back to how she sent the original drawing.
Now that the Unicorns have magic again, my best guess is Izzy will probably spent half of her time in Bridlewood teaching not just the colts and fillies, but all of the other unicorns how to use and control their magic but at the same time Izzy would probably also make time to hang out and or go on adventures with the Mane 5.
I can see Izzy becoming the emotional center of the New 5, keeping the others grounded as they adjust to the new way of the world. BUT, the animators left us a lot of clues that Izzy has been lonely for a very long time. Her sense of humor and optimism might be a bit more fragile than it seems (maybe not quite 'party of one' levels) and there could be some stories that address that. Bring it on G5 team, show us what you've got.
Will she beat the unicorn king of games? In a more serious note, I hope she gets in touch with sprout's mother, together they could engineer awesome tools (and sprout's mother is pretty much out of business anyway)
I´m really more interested in Sprout´s follow up story. There´s a theory running in the hispanic side of the comunnity that maybe Sprout is the equivalent of Diamond Tiara, since both characters were explicitly dependant from their mother figure. And at the end of the movie, we can see that, even if Philys has accepted other species and friendship, she´s still not a good mom for Sprout. So i would love to see his development and Philys development as a mother aswell ^^
When I saw them release the drawing into the wind I thought "oh ok, that's probably what leads izzy there" then I forgot about it until they brought it up again
I hope Izzy has funny and cute moments in the series like she did in the film, I am sure she will. Those are the kind of episodes I would like to see from her. The campfire scene was very beautiful and emotional. That is one of Izzy's best moments in the whole film.
I bet once magic disappeared that’s why Izzy turned to crafts, to feel something fun and creative and somewhat magical, and then BOOM that’s how she got her cutie mark as a filly. Maybe even after seeing the letter from Sunny, thats what inspired her? I dunno just ideas. 😂
Picture this, A distort Discord once know as the god of chaos tells Izzy moonbow. That a very long time ago flutter-shy his favorite pony sadly past away, and in response to his story, Izzy makes Discord makes a plush toy that looks like flutter-shy.

Izzy is definitely my favorite character from the new gen. She’s so adorable and creative and innocent and ACK I love her. Also she does have potential with being the only unicorn in the group. Also that moment where she looks sad when Sunny said they don’t have time for a tea party broke my heart. I want that to be touched upon more.
I saw the connection the second we saw Sunny send the letter off in the lantern, but the reveal is still effective, especially since it not only brought Sunny and Izzy closer together, it also got Hitch and Pipp on board after being so reluctant.
in an Izzie centered episode I'd really like to see what the sparkle or luminescence looks like; is it like glitter that hangs in the air near the pony, or does the pony actually glow for her?
I wonder how things will be for Hitch since he the first male lead character in MLP series and the only one on the cast where the others are girls? like there seems so much that can be done
She is delicate, kind and outgoing as well as being very brave, she caught my attention so much in the movie. Without me noticing she became my favorite character 💞💞 I really hope this new generation surprises me!!
I guess it'll make more sense in the series. It was kind of random in the movie because it was mentioned but never really used for anything. All I know is, Izzy said it glows brighter the happier a pony is. This means Izzy can spot unhappy or lonely ponies in a crowd or if no one else knew they were secretly sad or lonely.
@@ixiahj so in a sense, she can physically see how a pony is feeling based on some sort of invisible spectrum of color that only she can see and is unique to each pony. and the more powerful that emotion, the "brighter" it appears to her. the opposite would be true for a negative emotion, being darker the more sad they're feeling.
@@extremechiton Each sparkle has its own color that only Izzy can see. Like how she said Sunny's is lavander and Pipp is aquamarine. My guess is in the series, she might be like the cmc. She can use this ability to help ponies discover their calling in life. I also have a theory that this ability of Izzy will be important to reforming Sprout. I bet Sprout's sparkle is green.
I really like Izzy. While the inevitable Pinkie Pie comparisons keep coming up, Pinkie was one of my least favorite characters in FiM, due to just how over the top she was with her quirkiness & sometimes general cluelessness. Thankfully, while Izzy seems to be a similar personality type, they reined it in a bit, which makes her 110% more likeable for me. That and the fact that they added in her general arts & crafts dimension to her character. Definitely looking forward to the new series, though. One of my regrets is deliberately avoiding/shunning anything to do with FiM until early 2016 (i.e. when the series was nearly over), and I don't intend to make that mistake again, and I'm glad that I've decided to give Gen 5 a fair chance, because it looks to be continuing FiM's general quality.
I loved the campfire scene. It was a nice, reflective moment, and when Izzy pulled out the drawing, it would have been so easy for her to ramble on until Sunny pointed out she did it. Instead, all Sunny did was give a look of mesmerized awe, and Izzy picked up on it immediately and realized it was her. It shows for how upbeat she is, she isn't oblivious.
In all honesty doctor, I saw Izzy's reveal of being the recipient of Sonny's drawing probably as what it was meant to be a way to unite all five characters and also I just love the attention to detail in the campfire scene as well as the fact that the loan guy of the group hitch didn't act on macho and insist on trying to start his own fire away from the rest of the group and he gave in to the words of the pegasus princess so I can't remember which one it was that verbally insisted he come hang out with the rest of the group I'd have to watch the movie again and realizing that while he may be skilled sometimes in order to do what you need you require a few friends to get it done
The movie kinda hints that Izzy was much like Sunny a misfit since she was so positive among the emo depressive culture of the unicorns. And perhaps Izzy was like that because of Sunny´s lantern. Also why do you think that Izzy remembers having magic? I was more inclined to think that magic was lost ages ago and no pony remembers it anymore- which would be a potentially interesting story of how Izzy learns about magic, same with Pipp and Zipp learning what flying can do. And I really hope Sunny will proceed to investigate what happened to Twilight
Yeah like is she being evil because of her loneliness or she is being assasinated by somepony or some creatures because of they're jealousy and envy but either way we will see the special next year to get more info and answers on what happened to it
The message from Sunny was such a good scene that I get teary eyed just thinking about it. It was such a deep and beautiful way of connecting the characters, explaining Izzy's decision to go to Maretime Bay by herself, and confirmation to Sunny that what she and her dad believed was true. It's just...so good. This is such beautiful writing that it makes me so excited for the series to come if we can get more moments like this.
That campfire scene was one of the most touching moments in the film. It was a nice reveal. I too think that reveal could’ve worked later when sunny was at her lowest but it was good either way. I can’t wait to see what they do next for the series.
I think it would be interesting to explore how she didn't have many unicron friends (to share her tea set with) and how her sparkle was too bright. I want to see her address what it was like to be considered 'too' something versus being accepted. Also maybe what it's like to not be taken seriously sometimes when you're a little air-headed, maybe through her at Zip's dynamic.
Honestly, the campfire scene is one of if not my favorite moment in the entire movie. I had a feeling that the reason she came to Sunny’s town was because of her finding the lantern that had the drawing on it. And I was really, really happy to see that was actually the reason why she came to the town in the first place. That scene actually made me cry tears of joy and I haven’t done that and a very long time. And I honestly can’t wait to see more of Izzy and her friends
There’s one thing about the scene where the unicorns got their magic back that has me slightly concerned. It wasn’t just the unicorn‘s horn’s that started to glow. One of the big crystal chunks also started glowing it was only for a brief second before it moved to something else but that has me slightly concerned.
Considering how Happy go lucky Izzy is I actually wouldn’t be surprised if her backstory is actually really sad. I mean we do sorta see hints of that in the campfire scene. Kinda like Sam I Am in the Green Eggs and Ham show on Netflix where He’s this overly friendly optimist but then you find out his real backstory and it emotionally destroys you. It’s also how I see Hooty from The Owl House where He’s this fun character but I’m pretty sure his backstory is gonna be really heartbreaking 💔
I would love to see the series exploring more about luminescence. It seems to be the unicorns' secret to reading the emotions of other ponies. I'm not sure if that was Canon to the show, but I know it was fanon.
I was immensely touched by the decent campfire scenario, and how it was truly evoking out of a sort of acknowledgment out of the 5 prime protagonists, which is both heartwarming & sentimental to indulge in entirely. Some logical and practical must've been that some character traits & embodiments may very likely have been passed down by a certain kin heritage, but despite how immensely absurd and inconceivable it may sound, (while the plausible speculation could more than likely be justified, well hopefully), I for one, am definitely, not gonna get my aspirations up, just yet. A potential story arc for Izzy is to not merely aid ponies with friendship and harmony, (from which all the 3 pony distinctions have already ben reconciled), I'd like to see an emotional evocation with herself and the retrospective time where the Mane 6 were still living corporeal entities, now I gotta say that would be potentially compelling, especially coming from me, personally.
Huh... I wouldn't have expected anyone to be surprised by the letter reveal, it was such an obvious Chekhov's Gun. Then again, I've read so much TVtropes that maybe I just can help seeing behind the scenes all the time.
I'm really looking forward to hearing more about the whole luminescence/sparkle sense that Izzy seems to have. Is she the only unicorn who can sense it? Apart from being individually-colored and brightening or dimming according to the pony's mood, what exactly is it?
@@weldonwin Ooooh! That lead me to another idea. Could sparkle/luminescence be something we've seen before in G4? There were a few different moments when a pony was living the truest expression of themselves that their cutie mark actually glowed. The big examples that leap to mind being Coloratura in "The Mane Attraction" and Diamond Tiara in "Crusaders of the Lost Mark." Maybe Izzy can see that before it grows strong enough to become commonly visible.
@@WaywardSon5 On that point, I would like to add that, it may just have been a design choice, but ponies in the movie only seemed to have cutie marks on one side of their flank and that they were FAR less prominent than they used to be. I was under the impression that Cutie Marks were themselves an expression of magic, a symbol of having found one's place in the world and connected with one's true self. If magic had gone away, would that have effected Cutie Marks too? IT also implied Izzy retains some connection to magic and in particular to the magic that causes Cutie Marks to appear and their connection to Destiny.
I absolutely loved the various societies depicted in the Movie, because they all MAKE SENSE! First, you have the Earth Ponies of Maretime Bay. I don't care what your opinions are on Earth Pony Magic, they are the least affected by Magic's disappearance. And knowing (thinking) how the other tribes are in every way magically superior, the put a much greater emphasis on defense from them- so much so that fear of attack becomes ingrained into their very culture! This leads to opportunistic individuals using said fear to take control- either what is essentially a corporate state, or Sprout's dictatorship. Then you have the Pegasi. While affected (and saddened) by their loss of flight, they aren't crippled by it. One of two things happened- If it was a loss over time, those who retained magic had essentially a status symbol, leading to the creation of their monarchy. If it was sudden, powerful individuals would fake it to either retain their power and influence, or more idealistically, give hope to the others. Either way, you have a powerful monarchy held aloft (no pun intended) by their perceived abilities. AS A BONUS when the lie is discovered and the plebeians find out the royals are just as regular as the rest of them... Well, just be glad Robespierre ain't around. Finally, you have the Unicorns. Their entire culture, their entire EXISTENCE is based on their ability to do magic. The loss of this would devastate them on a deep level, hence the emo culture that emerged in Bridlewood. The horns on their heads are a constant reminder of what they once could do. It becomes such a burden that even mentioning they once had magic becomes something to be avoided, eventually the word itself becoming taboo. Taboo becomes jinxed, which leads to ritual to ward it away (knock on wood). I love that it all makes sense, and that you can guess their history without being told!
I agree that Izzy revealing the note that Sunny and Argyle had sent was a surprisingly scene that was also touching. I also agree that revealing it later when Sunny was really depressed would lead to a more natural way to, as you said, “bring the movie’s message full circle”. You also make very good points about what could happen in the upcoming series. Seeing how the unicorns adapt to their new lives with magic would be interesting along with seeing how Izzy managed to remain so positive.

I love the movie so much! the first time I saw it, I didn’t expect when Izzy said she found Sunny’s note! watching this video made me think about how since some unicorns might be still learning how to use magic, Izzy could be the one to teach them!
I really hope that the show doesn't just have the tribes being best friends without any speed bumps. I really hope that the unicorns keep their superstitions, the pegasi their reliance on technology, and earth ponies their paranoia.
The campfire sean was a slight touching and the drawing brought Sunny and Izzy together without them knowing it at the time. When the series starts, I'm going to be watching it, hopefully it's on UA-cam
While not quite as powerful as one sonic rainboom led to us all getting our cutie marks the letter definitely pulled up we were meant to be together before we actually met vibes. I can't help feeling Sunny and Izzy will actually have the strongest bond in the group even taking into account Sunny's history with Hitch and Zipp and Pipp being sisters. Probably going to be the most popular ship too. The unicorn superstition tho? Like Pinkie Sense I'm guessing it's more of a throw-away gag and might get a mention every now and again but not much else.
I kind of guessed that Izzy found the drawing from Sunny prior to it actually being revealed. I was surprised to have gotten that right. And I feel like Izzy's happy-go-lucky personality came from finding the drawing. Being that there were friends of other pony races out there for her to go find one day. So I'm assuming she just never gave up hope, and thus why she's so cheery.
Tbh I feel like there is just a simple reason for why the unicorns where so put down. Magic to the them is like water to ducks it is so natural for them and it is just so ingrained in their culture and who they are. And Iv seen how ducks and water birds get when they are kept away from water for so long. They get depressed and down. No wonder the unicorns where So effected because magic was in their blood and to have it gone they might as well have lost themselves!
I'm keeping my mind open. I sure hope that I'll be able to see many more easy moonbow episodes because I have completely fallen in love with her! I, also, have replayed some of the scenes to review content and to get a good laugh!
Izzy's personality reminds me a lot of Pinkie's. Also, notice the correlation between her being super joyful while the rest of the unicorns being depressed and Pinkie being the only truly happy pony on the rock farm. I found it pretty interesting how comparable that was. I'd like to also mention that Sunny's rainboom-looking thing at the end reminded me of how young Dash's sonic rainboom brought the Mane 6 together in G4. When the G4 rainboom happened, Pinkie immediately realized her love for parties and fun. Similarly, Sunny brought Izzy to Bridlewood through the lantern letter as a filly. This shows that Sunny, as a filly, made a connection with a future friend without even knowing it. My point is that this movie had a few minor parallels or at least somewhat similar situations. I'm really excited to watch the show and see if these things are expanded on. If the Mane 6's friendship journal still exists, the ponies may find it and make these connections themselves.
When I first saw Sunny and her father send out the drawing, I guessed Izzy would find it, but I still loved the campfire scene. As for what's next for her? I don't know, but if she stays the same pony I saw in the movie, with character development here and there, I wouldn't be surprised if she grew to be not just my favorite pony, but several bronies' favorite.
Honestly when I I saw the beginning where young sunny was making the letter I instantly connected the dots. It was only a matter of of time of when is he was going to show her the letter. I’m kind of good at connecting dots here in there sometimes. And perhaps Izzy might be some kind of ambassador to the unicorns, that she will guide them to have a better understanding of magic.
Maybe in an episode Izzy will find Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns and find the books and lesson plans that helps not only her, but also all unicorns to be able to use their magic more effectively. Maybe we'll even find out what happened to the alicorn princesses and Equestria.
Hey, Dr. Wolf? I’d love your take on how ponies were still able to get Cutie Marks with magic being permanently gone for the time. What I think was alluded to was them still having magic for events such as finding your special talent, but again I’d love your thoughts on it!
Maybe its my knowledge of story progression and common writing tropes, but I knew the minute I saw Sunny and her dad write that note and send it in a floating lantern that that is what brings Izzy to Maritime Bay.
I have a feeling that Izzy was more well adapted to living without magic was because perhaps she wasn't able to use magic very well even before the unicorns lost their magic. And her abundant creativity comes from not having relied on magic to do things most if her life.
I actually called the drawing. In a rather satisfying way. They put too much time into that drawing for it not to come back, and I figured it would be good storytelling to have that as why Izzy showed up in Maretime Bay. I was glad it happened the way it did.
The opening with Sunny and Argyle releasing the drawing to the world seems a bit foreshadow-y to me; I did expect one of them to reveal the drawing at one point. But it still never fails to tug the feels despite the knowledge
I kind of enjoy this movie being it’s own thing, it’s not perfect but I see some potential. Izzy was interested for me, seeing how she wants to hold on to the friends she made on their adventure. Plus the works they live in.
I hope there will be an episode in the future that's gonna address this whole missing family thing. I mean, like what's up with Hitch, Sunny, and Izzy's family? Did something happened to them or it's just a pure coincidence that they were absent throughout the entire movie? Also, what about Sunny's mother and Pipp/Zipp's father? (There are soooo many questions that hopefully won't be left unanswered for too long.) Oh, and Izzy's da best
My thoughts when I saw the drawing revealed: Ah, so that's how it connects to the rest of the story. It was a sweet moment in the beginning of the movie, but I was worried it was just gonna end up as some loose thread. One hypothesis I had at the beginning, was that letter might end up in the hand of some big bad intent on keeping the tribes separate, and thus invade Maretime bay to eradicate the radical unity-seekers. That hypothesis were shelved when Izzy arrived. The movie were clearly not going that direction.
i kinda figured Sunnys Note from the beginning of the movie was most likely reason she showed up so even though it was more of I knew it type of moment when she pulled it out it was still a very nice and touching scene. I hope we get more moments like that from her in the future series
I think they became so superstitions because their most precious thing was taken away from them - magic. And everything that in one way or another relates to magic (wings and feathers, mayonnaise appeared already in the process of distortion from retailings) scares all of them.
I'm wondering, if the ponies were that scared of each other, what's going to happen when they rediscover the Yaks, or the Griffons, or any of the other species out there? Izzy and the rest are going to have to try and make friends and there's bound to be shenanigans. I can see Izzy needing to reign in Sunny at times (No, no, Sunny, we don't make friends with Timberwolves!), or be stopped by the others from marching up to a legitimate villain and doing the "Hi new friend!" thing to some pony who's like Sombra, for example.
The only reason why izzy was able to keep her positive attitude is cuz she had the hope that there were other ponies out there to be friends with (thanks to sunnys note) so that kept her sparkle bright and her on a more positive note. Cuz clearly she was super excited to meet new friends and tht note just gave her the motivation to stay positive nd keep trying
To me, Sunny's childhood message lead to creating a connection between her and Izzy similar to Rainbow Dash's Sonic Rainboom in G4. Izzy was kind of the catalyst to the Mane 5 creating a friendship with one another. I think maybe we might get an episode about when Izzy found Sunny's message and perhaps this message was Izzy's source of optimism and it gave her hope that friendships with other pony kinds are possible because there is a pony from Maretime Bay that would like to have a unicorn or pegasi friend.
The part where Izzy got Sunny's message is already in the movie.

Oh, man. I got so surprised when that time has come to be revealed of that childhood message since my first time seeing the movie. So these events of the film has lead Sunny & Izzy to become amigos & bring the 3 kinds of ponies back together again ever since Sunny knows the story of Twilight Sparkle's origin & the rest of the Mane 6 from who knows centuries ago. That part inspires me & I agree with Izzy that if she doesn't want the adventure to end then so do I.

Maybe that’s why Izzy’s always so positive. In the movie we see that the other unicorns are depressed and maybe Izzy used to be like that until she found Sunny’s note. That’s when she believed that there could be magic out there and make new friends on the other side.
So, like Pinkie Pie, seeing the shockwave from the Sonic Rainboom and awakening her fun-loving side?

Appreciated the brief moment where Izzy looks disappointed, perhaps almost hurt, when Sunny interrupts her attempts to have a tea party with her friends. With what she said about her sparkle being a little too bright for Bridlewood we can guess that she failed to make friends in Bridlewood growing up and was motivated by the drawing and desperation to go looking for friends among the earth ponies despite still believing earth ponies were dumb and stinky. It seems like the only unicorn in Bridlewood who could tolerate her energy was Alphabittle who had his own energy-unfortunately, his extreme competitiveness that his energy manifested in might have made being friendly with him difficult.

I can totally relate to Izzy when she said her "sparkle" was too much for Bridlewood. Growing up I was probably too out going with not enough tact or awareness of personal boundaries, and so inadvertently drove away most of the other kids I tried making friends with.
@@muffinpaste It would be rather convoluted that all of Izzy´s family was also "conveniently dead" like Sunny´s (given the size of her cottage).
It is more likely that her family could not "endure" her anymore, but failed to convince her to just "move out" & live by herself elsewhere (building her own treehouse), nor any other unicorn wanted to take her as their roommate; so instead EVERY other member of her family left (probably one by one), until she found herself living alone in that big "clanhouse".
After a few months in solitude (waiting for them to come back), she finally took possesion of the place, "cleaning it out" of all the unnecesary furniture (like "extra" beds) to make room for all of her arts&crafts projects [this is when she rediscovered that old letter].
-> "Briddlewood" is the name of the whole Forest ( "Izzy´s Villa" is separated from Alphabittle´s "Crystal Tea" by half a mile or more ); so the rest of her family may be living now around another hamlet much farther away (deeper into the forest).

I really am excited for Izzy because she is my favorite character, but I see a lot of people saying she will be the new pinkie pie and I really hope that doesn't happen. Pinkie was just too outgoing and I feel like her character ruined moments from G4 that could have been more heartfelt.
I hope Izzy is going to be the kind of character who can find a bright side to situations, but also won't make everything a joke. I want to see Izzy be able to spread creativity and still have more emotion than "there's always something to laugh at in every single moment"

When people say she is Pinkie I think they mean more the archetype as in she has the same archetype rather than being the same character.

And hitch is a mix of apple jack and fluttershy. (The weird animal thing he's got going on xD)
Of course all these characters are drastically different too
Sunny isn't as learning delved or obsessive
Izzy isn't nearly as bonkers
Pip isn't as whiny and stuck up
Zip isn't as cocky
And hitch isn't country or super shy.

I actually wondered if Izzy was the pony that found Sunny's letter from the get-go, but the reveal during the campfire scene was very sweet & touching, definitely showing that not everypony was scared of the idea of becoming friends with others. I audibly went "Awwww" when she revealed it.
But yeah, Izzy is my hooves-down, favorite pony so far. Her craftiness is something I can relate to, but her optimism & energy are so contagious. It's hard not to smile whenever she's on screen, whether she's making a joke, saying/singing something, or even pantomiming. I really would like to see if maybe Sunny's letter was actually what kept her positivity & motivation high while other unicorns just moped on the loss of their magic.

One thing I've been wondering is if Izzy was moping around like every other unicorn until she found Sunny's message which when she discovered that another pony kind would like a unicorn friend it renewed her with optimistic energy and hope. Sunny's willingness created Izzy's silliness. Just a thought of mine.
Izzy has Pinkies energy but that energy is refined with Rairity like craftsponies eye. I honestly think she knew the other ponies where tarified but acted oblivious to that fact hopeing to find someone who wasn't. And she succeeded. She found Sunny. Wile not with fasion Izzy is excellent crafter. I want to see what she can do with more useful materials then macaroni. Especially now she has magic to help make things faster. We'll have to wait and see.
Rarity might be known for her craftsmanship, but Pinkie is just as talented at the visual arts.

I like that Izzy is more toned down on the antics than Pinkie.
“Why should mayonnaise be so taboo?” One would ask. My theory is food poisoning since bridlewood lacks refrigeration and that stuff spoils quickly without it.
The unicorns also yell wings & feathers. I think they blamed the pegasi for stealing their crops to make mayonnaise.

I don’t know about you, but izzy is giving me an abandonment issue feel. she obviously doesn’t seem that way, but her almost child-like personality could be a way to cope with it. she also made friendship bracelets and she wears one of them, but had no friends. izzy also said that she never got to try out her flower tea table with ACTUAL FRIENDS. she has a post it note on her mirror saying “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME” and I don’t get a good feeling about that. she lives in a slightly cluttered place and doesn’t really think about consequences of her actions. she is definitely mature, but she doesn’t appear that way. she also states that she “doesn’t want the adventure to end,” and she isn’t referring to going back home after bringing back magic, she is referring to losing the friends she made after. izzy obviously needs a hug, and I think that it would be really good representation for a main character to have a less than perfect past life or childhood.

Edit: I believe that the campfire scene was the best part of the movie. In that moment, everyone's determination to bring magic and being friends was set in stone. Even Hitch, who was so dead set on just heading back home was on board.
Respectfully, I think that Zipp and Hitch are my favorites. The dry sarcasm and gallows humor is more my style, but you can blame that on me being a former Marine.

If you think about it, that drawing could very well be a parallel to the rainboom: something that set everything in motion. Without that drawing, Izzy would never have had a reason to go to Maretime bay in the first place, ultimately leading to the absence of the mane 5 as well. Now, we just wait for the misunderstood antagonist to travel back in time in order to prevent Sunny sending that drawing.
Izzy is my favorite of the Mane 5, I can see why people are comparing her to Pinkie Pie, but for me she's more of a unique character of her own, she's fun, cute and playful but she's also clever and talented with art and crafts, she also has some hippie vibes, that I love. I hope in the series she acts like a hippie version of Rarity, she's always crafting objects and gifts and uses her crafting abilities to help her friends.

It is implied (by the background elements) that Argyle used Grogar´s Bewitching Bell to siphon all the magic of Equestria into the "Earth Diamond" crystal [then he hide it "in plain sight" as part of Sunny´s fancy bedroom lamp].
-> Sunny was a small filly when he finished it, so Izzy probably also remembers having magic.

Also, how has nobody remarked how much like Pinkie Pie and Rarity Izzy is? I thought a really cute moment they could have done was when Sunny is sad and at her lowest point, have Izzy show up with her own version of the drawing and give it to Sunny. This would have been a great call back to the campfire scene, and a way to remind Sunny that even without magic she has friends in the unicorn forest now. The new drawing even could have been delivered by a balloon while she was sadly looking out the window, a call back to how she sent the original drawing.
Izzy's look when she thought their adventure was ending is so heartwrenching.
Now that the Unicorns have magic again, my best guess is Izzy will probably spent half of her time in Bridlewood teaching not just the colts and fillies, but all of the other unicorns how to use and control their magic but at the same time Izzy would probably also make time to hang out and or go on adventures with the Mane 5.
I can see Izzy becoming the emotional center of the New 5, keeping the others grounded as they adjust to the new way of the world. BUT, the animators left us a lot of clues that Izzy has been lonely for a very long time. Her sense of humor and optimism might be a bit more fragile than it seems (maybe not quite 'party of one' levels) and there could be some stories that address that. Bring it on G5 team, show us what you've got.
I'm pretty sure G5 is thousands of years into the future of G4.

I´m really more interested in Sprout´s follow up story.
There´s a theory running in the hispanic side of the comunnity that maybe Sprout is the equivalent of Diamond Tiara, since both characters were explicitly dependant from their mother figure.
And at the end of the movie, we can see that, even if Philys has accepted other species and friendship, she´s still not a good mom for Sprout.
So i would love to see his development and Philys development as a mother aswell ^^

Picture this, A distort Discord once know as the god of chaos tells Izzy moonbow. That a very long time ago flutter-shy his favorite pony sadly past away, and in response to his story, Izzy makes Discord makes a plush toy that looks like flutter-shy.

Izzy is definitely my favorite character from the new gen. She’s so adorable and creative and innocent and ACK I love her. Also she does have potential with being the only unicorn in the group. Also that moment where she looks sad when Sunny said they don’t have time for a tea party broke my heart. I want that to be touched upon more.
I saw the connection the second we saw Sunny send the letter off in the lantern, but the reveal is still effective, especially since it not only brought Sunny and Izzy closer together, it also got Hitch and Pipp on board after being so reluctant.
in an Izzie centered episode I'd really like to see what the sparkle or luminescence looks like; is it like glitter that hangs in the air near the pony, or does the pony actually glow for her?
I wonder how things will be for Hitch since he the first male lead character in MLP series and the only one on the cast where the others are girls? like there seems so much that can be done

My best guess is it's their aura, like some sort of spiritual energy like qi or chakra that Izzy can see somehow
I guess it'll make more sense in the series. It was kind of random in the movie because it was mentioned but never really used for anything. All I know is, Izzy said it glows brighter the happier a pony is. This means Izzy can spot unhappy or lonely ponies in a crowd or if no one else knew they were secretly sad or lonely.
@@ixiahj so in a sense, she can physically see how a pony is feeling based on some sort of invisible spectrum of color that only she can see and is unique to each pony. and the more powerful that emotion, the "brighter" it appears to her. the opposite would be true for a negative emotion, being darker the more sad they're feeling.
@@extremechiton Each sparkle has its own color that only Izzy can see. Like how she said Sunny's is lavander and Pipp is aquamarine. My guess is in the series, she might be like the cmc. She can use this ability to help ponies discover their calling in life. I also have a theory that this ability of Izzy will be important to reforming Sprout. I bet Sprout's sparkle is green.
I really like Izzy. While the inevitable Pinkie Pie comparisons keep coming up, Pinkie was one of my least favorite characters in FiM, due to just how over the top she was with her quirkiness & sometimes general cluelessness. Thankfully, while Izzy seems to be a similar personality type, they reined it in a bit, which makes her 110% more likeable for me. That and the fact that they added in her general arts & crafts dimension to her character.
Definitely looking forward to the new series, though. One of my regrets is deliberately avoiding/shunning anything to do with FiM until early 2016 (i.e. when the series was nearly over), and I don't intend to make that mistake again, and I'm glad that I've decided to give Gen 5 a fair chance, because it looks to be continuing FiM's general quality.
I loved the campfire scene. It was a nice, reflective moment, and when Izzy pulled out the drawing, it would have been so easy for her to ramble on until Sunny pointed out she did it. Instead, all Sunny did was give a look of mesmerized awe, and Izzy picked up on it immediately and realized it was her. It shows for how upbeat she is, she isn't oblivious.
In all honesty doctor, I saw Izzy's reveal of being the recipient of Sonny's drawing probably as what it was meant to be a way to unite all five characters and also I just love the attention to detail in the campfire scene as well as the fact that the loan guy of the group hitch didn't act on macho and insist on trying to start his own fire away from the rest of the group and he gave in to the words of the pegasus princess so I can't remember which one it was that verbally insisted he come hang out with the rest of the group I'd have to watch the movie again and realizing that while he may be skilled sometimes in order to do what you need you require a few friends to get it done
The movie kinda hints that Izzy was much like Sunny a misfit since she was so positive among the emo depressive culture of the unicorns. And perhaps Izzy was like that because of Sunny´s lantern. Also why do you think that Izzy remembers having magic? I was more inclined to think that magic was lost ages ago and no pony remembers it anymore- which would be a potentially interesting story of how Izzy learns about magic, same with Pipp and Zipp learning what flying can do. And I really hope Sunny will proceed to investigate what happened to Twilight
Yeah like is she being evil because of her loneliness or she is being assasinated by somepony or some creatures because of they're jealousy and envy but either way we will see the special next year to get more info and answers on what happened to it
The message from Sunny was such a good scene that I get teary eyed just thinking about it. It was such a deep and beautiful way of connecting the characters, explaining Izzy's decision to go to Maretime Bay by herself, and confirmation to Sunny that what she and her dad believed was true. It's just...so good. This is such beautiful writing that it makes me so excited for the series to come if we can get more moments like this.

That campfire scene was one of the most touching moments in the film. It was a nice reveal. I too think that reveal could’ve worked later when sunny was at her lowest but it was good either way. I can’t wait to see what they do next for the series.
I think it would be interesting to explore how she didn't have many unicron friends (to share her tea set with) and how her sparkle was too bright. I want to see her address what it was like to be considered 'too' something versus being accepted. Also maybe what it's like to not be taken seriously sometimes when you're a little air-headed, maybe through her at Zip's dynamic.
I think levitation is suppose to be one of the easiest spells that any unicorn can perform. Am I wrong?

Honestly, the campfire scene is one of if not my favorite moment in the entire movie.
I had a feeling that the reason she came to Sunny’s town was because of her finding the lantern that had the drawing on it. And I was really, really happy to see that was actually the reason why she came to the town in the first place.
That scene actually made me cry tears of joy and I haven’t done that and a very long time. And I honestly can’t wait to see more of Izzy and her friends
There’s one thing about the scene where the unicorns got their magic back that has me slightly concerned.
It wasn’t just the unicorn‘s horn’s that started to glow.
One of the big crystal chunks also started glowing it was only for a brief second before it moved to something else but that has me slightly concerned.
Considering how Happy go lucky Izzy is I actually wouldn’t be surprised if her backstory is actually really sad. I mean we do sorta see hints of that in the campfire scene. Kinda like Sam I Am in the Green Eggs and Ham show on Netflix where He’s this overly friendly optimist but then you find out his real backstory and it emotionally destroys you.
It’s also how I see Hooty from The Owl House where He’s this fun character but I’m pretty sure his backstory is gonna be really heartbreaking 💔
I would love to see the series exploring more about luminescence. It seems to be the unicorns' secret to reading the emotions of other ponies. I'm not sure if that was Canon to the show, but I know it was fanon.
I was immensely touched by the decent campfire scenario, and how it was truly evoking out of a sort of acknowledgment out of the 5 prime protagonists, which is both heartwarming & sentimental to indulge in entirely.
Some logical and practical must've been that some character traits & embodiments may very likely have been passed down by a certain kin heritage, but despite how immensely absurd and inconceivable it may sound, (while the plausible speculation could more than likely be justified, well hopefully), I for one, am definitely, not gonna get my aspirations up, just yet.
A potential story arc for Izzy is to not merely aid ponies with friendship and harmony, (from which all the 3 pony distinctions have already ben reconciled), I'd like to see an emotional evocation with herself and the retrospective time where the Mane 6 were still living corporeal entities, now I gotta say that would be potentially compelling, especially coming from me, personally.
Huh... I wouldn't have expected anyone to be surprised by the letter reveal, it was such an obvious Chekhov's Gun. Then again, I've read so much TVtropes that maybe I just can help seeing behind the scenes all the time.
I'm really looking forward to hearing more about the whole luminescence/sparkle sense that Izzy seems to have. Is she the only unicorn who can sense it? Apart from being individually-colored and brightening or dimming according to the pony's mood, what exactly is it?
I was wondering that, if maybe Izzy could literally see a pony's aura somehow and it was maybe some kind of residual power she had
@@weldonwin Ooooh! That lead me to another idea. Could sparkle/luminescence be something we've seen before in G4? There were a few different moments when a pony was living the truest expression of themselves that their cutie mark actually glowed. The big examples that leap to mind being Coloratura in "The Mane Attraction" and Diamond Tiara in "Crusaders of the Lost Mark." Maybe Izzy can see that before it grows strong enough to become commonly visible.
@@WaywardSon5 On that point, I would like to add that, it may just have been a design choice, but ponies in the movie only seemed to have cutie marks on one side of their flank and that they were FAR less prominent than they used to be. I was under the impression that Cutie Marks were themselves an expression of magic, a symbol of having found one's place in the world and connected with one's true self.
If magic had gone away, would that have effected Cutie Marks too? IT also implied Izzy retains some connection to magic and in particular to the magic that causes Cutie Marks to appear and their connection to Destiny.
I absolutely loved the various societies depicted in the Movie, because they all MAKE SENSE! First, you have the Earth Ponies of Maretime Bay. I don't care what your opinions are on Earth Pony Magic, they are the least affected by Magic's disappearance. And knowing (thinking) how the other tribes are in every way magically superior, the put a much greater emphasis on defense from them- so much so that fear of attack becomes ingrained into their very culture! This leads to opportunistic individuals using said fear to take control- either what is essentially a corporate state, or Sprout's dictatorship.
Then you have the Pegasi. While affected (and saddened) by their loss of flight, they aren't crippled by it. One of two things happened- If it was a loss over time, those who retained magic had essentially a status symbol, leading to the creation of their monarchy. If it was sudden, powerful individuals would fake it to either retain their power and influence, or more idealistically, give hope to the others. Either way, you have a powerful monarchy held aloft (no pun intended) by their perceived abilities. AS A BONUS when the lie is discovered and the plebeians find out the royals are just as regular as the rest of them... Well, just be glad Robespierre ain't around.
Finally, you have the Unicorns. Their entire culture, their entire EXISTENCE is based on their ability to do magic. The loss of this would devastate them on a deep level, hence the emo culture that emerged in Bridlewood. The horns on their heads are a constant reminder of what they once could do. It becomes such a burden that even mentioning they once had magic becomes something to be avoided, eventually the word itself becoming taboo. Taboo becomes jinxed, which leads to ritual to ward it away (knock on wood).
I love that it all makes sense, and that you can guess their history without being told!
I agree that Izzy revealing the note that Sunny and Argyle had sent was a surprisingly scene that was also touching. I also agree that revealing it later when Sunny was really depressed would lead to a more natural way to, as you said, “bring the movie’s message full circle”. You also make very good points about what could happen in the upcoming series. Seeing how the unicorns adapt to their new lives with magic would be interesting along with seeing how Izzy managed to remain so positive.
I love Izzy! I am so happy that Netflix is adding in such positive nerodivergent representation.

I love the movie so much! the first time I saw it, I didn’t expect when Izzy said she found Sunny’s note! watching this video made me think about how since some unicorns might be still learning how to use magic, Izzy could be the one to teach them!
I really hope that the show doesn't just have the tribes being best friends without any speed bumps. I really hope that the unicorns keep their superstitions, the pegasi their reliance on technology, and earth ponies their paranoia.
I like how after the drawing was revealed, Hitch decided to help. Even he knows what's truly important.
I still think there’s something big that happened in past that caused all the magic loss and division.
The campfire sean was a slight touching and the drawing brought Sunny and Izzy together without them knowing it at the time. When the series starts, I'm going to be watching it, hopefully it's on UA-cam
While not quite as powerful as one sonic rainboom led to us all getting our cutie marks the letter definitely pulled up we were meant to be together before we actually met vibes.
I can't help feeling Sunny and Izzy will actually have the strongest bond in the group even taking into account Sunny's history with Hitch and Zipp and Pipp being sisters.
Probably going to be the most popular ship too.
The unicorn superstition tho? Like Pinkie Sense I'm guessing it's more of a throw-away gag and might get a mention every now and again but not much else.
I kind of guessed that Izzy found the drawing from Sunny prior to it actually being revealed. I was surprised to have gotten that right. And I feel like Izzy's happy-go-lucky personality came from finding the drawing. Being that there were friends of other pony races out there for her to go find one day. So I'm assuming she just never gave up hope, and thus why she's so cheery.
Tbh I feel like there is just a simple reason for why the unicorns where so put down. Magic to the them is like water to ducks it is so natural for them and it is just so ingrained in their culture and who they are. And Iv seen how ducks and water birds get when they are kept away from water for so long. They get depressed and down. No wonder the unicorns where So effected because magic was in their blood and to have it gone they might as well have lost themselves!

Izzy was very upbeat and lively because she believed she had a friend in the Earth Ponies.

I'm keeping my mind open. I sure hope that I'll be able to see many more easy moonbow episodes because I have completely fallen in love with her! I, also, have replayed some of the scenes to review content and to get a good laugh!
Izzy's personality reminds me a lot of Pinkie's. Also, notice the correlation between her being super joyful while the rest of the unicorns being depressed and Pinkie being the only truly happy pony on the rock farm. I found it pretty interesting how comparable that was.
I'd like to also mention that Sunny's rainboom-looking thing at the end reminded me of how young Dash's sonic rainboom brought the Mane 6 together in G4. When the G4 rainboom happened, Pinkie immediately realized her love for parties and fun. Similarly, Sunny brought Izzy to Bridlewood through the lantern letter as a filly. This shows that Sunny, as a filly, made a connection with a future friend without even knowing it.
My point is that this movie had a few minor parallels or at least somewhat similar situations. I'm really excited to watch the show and see if these things are expanded on. If the Mane 6's friendship journal still exists, the ponies may find it and make these connections themselves.
When I first saw Sunny and her father send out the drawing, I guessed Izzy would find it, but I still loved the campfire scene. As for what's next for her? I don't know, but if she stays the same pony I saw in the movie, with character development here and there, I wouldn't be surprised if she grew to be not just my favorite pony, but several bronies' favorite.
Honestly when I I saw the beginning where young sunny was making the letter I instantly connected the dots. It was only a matter of of time of when is he was going to show her the letter. I’m kind of good at connecting dots here in there sometimes. And perhaps Izzy might be some kind of ambassador to the unicorns, that she will guide them to have a better understanding of magic.
Maybe in an episode Izzy will find Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns and find the books and lesson plans that helps not only her, but also all unicorns to be able to use their magic more effectively. Maybe we'll even find out what happened to the alicorn princesses and Equestria.

Maybe its my knowledge of story progression and common writing tropes, but I knew the minute I saw Sunny and her dad write that note and send it in a floating lantern that that is what brings Izzy to Maritime Bay.
I have a feeling that Izzy was more well adapted to living without magic was because perhaps she wasn't able to use magic very well even before the unicorns lost their magic. And her abundant creativity comes from not having relied on magic to do things most if her life.
I actually called the drawing. In a rather satisfying way. They put too much time into that drawing for it not to come back, and I figured it would be good storytelling to have that as why Izzy showed up in Maretime Bay. I was glad it happened the way it did.
The opening with Sunny and Argyle releasing the drawing to the world seems a bit foreshadow-y to me; I did expect one of them to reveal the drawing at one point. But it still never fails to tug the feels despite the knowledge

I hope there will be an episode in the future that's gonna address this whole missing family thing. I mean, like what's up with Hitch, Sunny, and Izzy's family? Did something happened to them or it's just a pure coincidence that they were absent throughout the entire movie? Also, what about Sunny's mother and Pipp/Zipp's father? (There are soooo many questions that hopefully won't be left unanswered for too long.)

Ah, so that's how it connects to the rest of the story.
It was a sweet moment in the beginning of the movie, but I was worried it was just gonna end up as some loose thread.
One hypothesis I had at the beginning, was that letter might end up in the hand of some big bad intent on keeping the tribes separate, and thus invade Maretime bay to eradicate the radical unity-seekers.
That hypothesis were shelved when Izzy arrived. The movie were clearly not going that direction.
i kinda figured Sunnys Note from the beginning of the movie was most likely reason she showed up so even though it was more of I knew it type of moment when she pulled it out it was still a very nice and touching scene. I hope we get more moments like that from her in the future series

I think they became so superstitions because their most precious thing was taken away from them - magic. And everything that in one way or another relates to magic (wings and feathers, mayonnaise appeared already in the process of distortion from retailings) scares all of them.
Maybe in the future we’ll see more of izzy’s creative side and how she use her magic in it.
I'm wondering, if the ponies were that scared of each other, what's going to happen when they rediscover the Yaks, or the Griffons, or any of the other species out there? Izzy and the rest are going to have to try and make friends and there's bound to be shenanigans. I can see Izzy needing to reign in Sunny at times (No, no, Sunny, we don't make friends with Timberwolves!), or be stopped by the others from marching up to a legitimate villain and doing the "Hi new friend!" thing to some pony who's like Sombra, for example.
The only reason why izzy was able to keep her positive attitude is cuz she had the hope that there were other ponies out there to be friends with (thanks to sunnys note) so that kept her sparkle bright and her on a more positive note. Cuz clearly she was super excited to meet new friends and tht note just gave her the motivation to stay positive nd keep trying
