if the charging current is a mathematical question according to each type of battery, why isn't the best value automatically indicated?
The software should ask how many milliamps the battery has and suggest the ideal charging current according to the type of battery indicated. That would be a user-friendly function

I'd like to know how well it discharges. The M800 can't discharge any faster than 1 amp even if you set it higher. Thanks for the review.

User Manual (linked in this video's description), page 14 describes 3 different Discharge Modes and their max rates/capacities. I tested the "Normal Mode" for you with a 4S 650mah battery LiHV. Normal Mode max rate/capacity per User Manual is 3A @ *20* W discharge. The M8 (on the other hand) in "Normal Discharge Mode" has a max of 3A @ *12* watts. I set final voltage to 3.50V/cell= 14.0v total and set the discharge rate to 2A. Battery starting voltage was 17.2 volts. It discharged fine beginning at approximately 1.17 A (1.17 A x 17.2 v = 20.1 watts). As the voltage dropped, the discharge amp rate went up to *maintain the max 20 watts* . As it neared completion at final voltage, it went into "trickle mode" and dropped the discharge amp rate to a "trickle" so it stopped dead on the final voltage. I have not tested the other two modes. Hope this helps.

@@TMacFPV Ah, that makes sense. Thank you for doing that. I use the discharge mode to measure actual mah as a pack ages, and if the device limits the amps to under 1 amp it can take over 1 hour to complete the discharge cycle.

@TommyTester sure thing Tommy!👍You can also keep track of internal resistances. As batt's age, their IR tends to increase

No thanks don't need a toy charger that will burn up if loaded with a high capacity battery.
tool kit chargers will go on the blink, when used at their rated output!
