A stunning sunrise, peace and quiet, a bit of fishing, and some canny coalies as a bonus.
Sheer heaven, and thanks for sharing. 👍.
Shame about the litter, but well done you for picking it up.👏👏.
Stay safe mate and look forward to your mackerel adventures.
You going back to the Leas soon to catch another good pollack?
Thanks Ian, yeah I enjoy fishing at first light its always so peaceful 👍
Nice little video well done nice to see a few fish come off there, fair play picking all that rubbish up, that sunrise looks amazing
Thanks Lee 👍
A good part of fishing !
Some crackin poddlers there mate, keep banging out the videos.
Thanks mate, will do 👍
Good video mate and hat off for picking the rubbish up, well done. Keep the videos coming really enjoy watching them
I always find your videos relaxing I think it's the peace and quiet and the noise of the sea 👍
Morning 🌄 Gary, what a sun rise, great upload as always, nice effort to keep pier clean, question, Coley, seems more popular in your neck of the woods, than whiting in my area. Tight lines. Mike. Norfolk.
Morning Mike, thanks. Yeah the coley are usually the first to turn up around the piers there seems to be a lot of them this year. We usually get a load of whiting in the winter but they usually leave just before spring. Tight lines mate.
Nice job! Good effort on the litter. Pitty like. The coalies or Geordie Salmon as I call them, are great sport. Love a coalie before the Mack attack! Great videos 👍
The Geordie salmon haha I like that, thanks Stu 👍
Loving these videos. Must have watched your mackerel videos from last year a hundred times. Looking forward to this season on the north west coast. Tight lines.
Class as usual gary the amount of crap left lying around the pier and littlehaven is shocking fair play to u
Thanks Steve 👍
Another great video and good on you for cleaning up the pier mate. Much respect 🙏🙂
Thanks Sean 👍
I have done some early morning fishing as well, its great, your videos are very good.
Thanks, yeah i agree early morning fishing is great.
Love the video I can't wait for the mackerel to come in any ideas on wen lol
Thanks, shouldn't be to long they have been getting them off the boats a bit further out.
another good un gary pity about the mess must be hard 4 those people 2 find a bin would hate 2 see how they live
Thanks Colin, yeah it would be good if everyone took a little bit rubbish away with them it would help to keep the fishing marks open.
I reckon the next bit of settled weather and they'll be here
I’ve been catching off the shore for 2 weeks down in Portsmouth
Nice video x
Lovely stuff mate good role model picking up that crap 😁🎣👍🏻
Thanks mate 👍
Well done lifting the litter Gary. The mackerel can't be too far away I had my first 3 last week off the shore in West Donegal. Tight lines, looking forward to your next video
Thanks Richard, yeah shouldn't be to far away now looking forward to them turning up. Tight lines.
Great stuff Gary. Like others have said about picking up the litter, well done.
Thanks Sam.
What a brilliant sunrise Gary , some nice coalies shame no mackies yet , iv'e just bought the same rod as you waiting for it to arrive, tight lines
Yeah it was good to see the sunrise Steve, hopefully the mackerel turn up soon. The rod seems canny good so far im looking forward to using it the rest of the summer to see what else I can get on it. Tight lines mate.

Great video Mate. I use a lure like that on the end of my Mack Feathers.
Thanks mate 👍
Great video, thanks for sharing with us.
Leaving a like to support your channel
Thanks unjarred I appreciate that.
Crackin Video, My Dad and me were out first thing this morning in Hartlepool. No sign of any fish mind.
Thanks mate, yeah they seem to be a little bit later this year.
Where did you fish in Hartlepool?
@@12345KNB pilot pier over the Headland
Ps shame about the litter bugs but its the same all over mate , until they get us stopped from going there
Excellent vid Gary , I’m up here at the mo and was thinking a session of lrfing on South Shields pier maybe some mini metal spinning , what you reckon of my chances for a few fish with the light approach, or is the tide way too strong. Thanks fella tight lines
Thanks dave, yeah there should be a good chance the sea and wind is settling this week so there should be some fish about. Tight lines mate.
How do you get to the end of the pier when the gates are shut mate? Just climb?
Nice one thanks Gary! A few Coalies saved the day! That pier looks like a great mark, and well done for picking up that litter. Why folks can't take their crap home escapes me - Mum always told me "leave nothing but footprints". Stay safe & well - Dave. 🎣🎣👍👍
Hi Gary. I tried fishing there last summer, but the gates halfway along were chained locked. Are they open now, or do you have to climb around the inside bit? Didn't fancy that at my age lol
Hi Paul, they have started to open the gates now I think they open them about 7am.
Thanks Gary, I'll check the tides and plan a little trip down one day.
Another brilliant video. Newbie question for you. I know the pier is a popular spot especially when the mackerel is in but what about places like the milldam, customs house area for using spinners and daylites for mackerel?
Thanks Chris, I'm not sure how productive it would be using spinners and daylights as far up as Mill dam because of how wide the river is there. I have used spinners and daylights at the walkway the houses just along from the groyne and had mackerel and herring when they are fully in through the summer.
@@fishingintheukgarywood thanks for the reply. something was telling me it wouldn't be a good area to use them. My boy likes fishing there but not really know where and when to fish with what equipment can be a abit of a pain so im currently trying to learn for both of us
No probs Chris, I've got a few videos somewhere on my channel fishing mill dam, I usually like to fish for flattys from there usually a couple of hours either side of high water with strips of mackerel for bait and small hooks. Also fishing straight down the wall for mini species with small bits of rag worm.
@@fishingintheukgarywood I'll certainly have a look and keep that info in mind. Hope you don't mind the odd question. Thanks again matey
Looks like a grand spot but a long walk, is it possible to cycle on the pier ?
Yeah its about a one mile walk. There is a sign on the gate saying no cycling but a lot of people still cycle up to the top.
If only everybody kept the pier clean...
They Closed it last year due to the amount of rubbish on it...
Hes back loving your new intro gary 👌🏻 canny little whip on that rod and nothing worse cleaning other peoples mess up pat on the back for that just spoils it for others not hard to put stuff in ya box or plastic bag anyways keep them cuming pal😉🎣
Thanks, glad you liked the new intro 👍 yeah the rod seems to be canny good so far looking forward to using it more over the summer.

Hi, is there any mackarel yet?
I havnt had any through the week but they should be here anyday now.
@@fishingintheukgarywood good luck fishing
Great video,
I recently move in the area and I am curious, is there any Sea Bass in this area ?
Does it worth try Spinning for it ?
Thanks a lot.
Tight lines ahead
Thanks, there is a few around here but they are mainly small ones and mainly caught on bait. Tight lines.
@@fishingintheukgarywood Thanks for replay for quickly.
I have one more question if you don`t mind.
I have purchase Megabass - ZONK 120 SW as lure, should I give it a go with it or do you think it is pointless.
I will like to try it on this Saturday on Marsden Bay.
Yes its worth a try. I use the albie Snax weedless they work locally.
can never catch anything spinning and I use the same lure as you , just never have any luck ..... could be that I live over the north side of the tyne though 😂
Keep trying it took me a while to catch my first fish on a spinner when I first started, its worth sticking with the fish put up a good fight on spinning gear.
@@fishingintheukgarywood is braid a must , just I can't get away with it and find it hard to work with personally.
@@svenhoek.6095 no I used to use 10lb mono before I got into using the braid.
@@fishingintheukgarywood thanks for the info , love your videos keep it up and best of luck to ya mate 👍🏻
