I want this song to be played at my funeral which I want no one to attend, it's just for me. this song is totally connected to my best friend who died at the age of 36 in 2002. Last night my dog died. it took him one and a half hours but then he was finally free, up til then he was great so I am very thankful cause he was 16, had a hard life but at least the last 6 years he was well taken care of by us. now I have two beloved souls to think of when i hear this song. adopt from your local shelter, especially elderly dogs like mine, they deserve a chance too! heZitator I have to disagree about the comment about 'modern shit music' . I'm 53 and I find great new stuff every week. I reckon there were plenty of people in 2002 complaining that all music of the day was shit. Do you ever listen to BBC radio '6 music'? If you don't, that's a great place to discover lots of very fine stuff, of EVERY genre, as well as music from every decade of the last 70 years. All 6 music DJs have no playlist whatsoever,- ie no radio execs tell them what to play. When they do play older stuff, some of the time it is by bands I never heard of, but when it is an artist I already know, it is frequently a track by them I've missed. Catch it online or on DAB if you're in the UK..
Theres no harm bringing back missing genre's! I used to be a fan of chillout tunes, but it seems it's no longer a solid genre - Current House tunes slowed down and edited. Ok in it's own right, but not originally created as bespoke chillout. What happened to Bonobo, Zero 7, Lamb etc? Lost to corner cutting it would seem. It's a shame UA-cam etc has stolen a large chunk of the money once found in record labels, cutting discs and distribution etc. Free music is more than tempting, but then only massive labels survive and the tunes they sign end up making the feast table 'clunky' and deformed. If people spent more money on vinyl and CD or official HQ MP3 then this would filter down the terrace to enable more musicians to buy instruments and pay for cutting onto disc etc. J xx

I'm from Mexico and I ran onto this song in a very unconventional way. It was the year of 2002. I was just 13 and internet was new to me (due to parenting restrictions). My mother had bought a new car, an Opel Meriva (sold as Chevrolet Meriva in my country). I remember I liked that weird car a lot and used the internet to find more info about it because it had a weird European design (not very common to see here) and I somehow ended up at the Opel website and found a video commercial of the car. The song, Gabriel by Lamb. I fell in love with it. Ever since I fell in love with the band and their style. I didn't know any English back then. I just knew I liked it and until today, I still listen to this and their other songs, but this one brings me back to 2002. 🥺 Makes me feel so nostalgic and how easy was life back then.
If i close my eyes and fall i wont feel the ground when I awake. I'll have wings. It's probably the sing you hear when you cross over from this life to the next.

heZitator I have to disagree about the comment about 'modern shit music' . I'm 53 and I find great new stuff every week. I reckon there were plenty of people in 2002 complaining that all music of the day was shit. Do you ever listen to BBC radio '6 music'? If you don't, that's a great place to discover lots of very fine stuff, of EVERY genre, as well as music from every decade of the last 70 years. All 6 music DJs have no playlist whatsoever,- ie no radio execs tell them what to play. When they do play older stuff, some of the time it is by bands I never heard of, but when it is an artist I already know, it is frequently a track by them I've missed. Catch it online or on DAB if you're in the UK..
Theres no harm bringing back missing genre's! I used to be a fan of chillout tunes, but it seems it's no longer a solid genre - Current House tunes slowed down and edited. Ok in it's own right, but not originally created as bespoke chillout. What happened to Bonobo, Zero 7, Lamb etc? Lost to corner cutting it would seem. It's a shame UA-cam etc has stolen a large chunk of the money once found in record labels, cutting discs and distribution etc. Free music is more than tempting, but then only massive labels survive and the tunes they sign end up making the feast table 'clunky' and deformed. If people spent more money on vinyl and CD or official HQ MP3 then this would filter down the terrace to enable more musicians to buy instruments and pay for cutting onto disc etc. J xx

It was the year of 2002. I was just 13 and internet was new to me (due to parenting restrictions).
My mother had bought a new car, an Opel Meriva (sold as Chevrolet Meriva in my country). I remember I liked that weird car a lot and used the internet to find more info about it because it had a weird European design (not very common to see here) and I somehow ended up at the Opel website and found a video commercial of the car. The song, Gabriel by Lamb. I fell in love with it. Ever since I fell in love with the band and their style. I didn't know any English back then. I just knew I liked it and until today, I still listen to this and their other songs, but this one brings me back to 2002. 🥺 Makes me feel so nostalgic and how easy was life back then.
