With the PawSox gone, what comes next for McCoy Stadium?

  • McCoy Stadium sits empty, leaving many to wonder what will happen to the historic ballpark in Pawtucket.

    The city should maintain it, rent it out to High School teams, college teams, adult leauge teams, etc the same way you would rent out a municipal hockey rink. Or get a collegiate summer leauge team in there. Don't abandon it!!

    Perhaps give McCoy to Providence College for its baseball team to play its home games in. However, serious renovations (though at higher costs) have to be made first. The PawSox history stuff in McCoy would be given to a sports museum in Rhode Island for a special exhibition.

      The Paw Sox memorabilia is now in Polar Park.

      It was the ownership. They should’ve respected McCoy. It’s as much a part of Baseball lore as Fenway, & should be treated as such.

      @@jayrogers8255 it was respected for 50+ years. Money talks! The only reason the Pawsox were moved to Worcester was because of money, and the Crowley family has tons of it. They own Polar and Wachusett mountain man

      @@DaBrewCrew22 The city of Worcester owns Polar Park not Polar Bevrages. They bought the naming rights like the city of Worcester owns the DCU center. Digital Federal Credit Union bought the naming rights.
