Using Tone Hunt I came across three really solid must have amp models for the Neural Amp Modeler.

Sounds fucking unbelievable. I would have ZERO complaints if a metal band I follow released an album and these tones were their amp tones. Would NEVER cross my mind.

As the NAM gets more refined it will probably become the main source of amp models for most home enthusiasts. I think it would be awesome to see it get used on some commercial releases. I think it can hold its own for sure!

NAM high gain amps are at least as good as anything you can find on the market. Axe fx, Kemper, I've had them all. In terms of sheer amp tone accuracy NAM is up there with the big boys.

Agreed. The learning process for the modeler is as good as anything commercial. Finding models that have slightly higher outputs and and a decent low end are what stuck out to me. I found others that sound good too, these three were just immediately on par with some of the Neural DSP tones I have been using.

I use Presonus Eris 4.5s currently. They are inexpensive a fairly flat. I would like to get a set of 8 inch monitors but haven’t decided on a brand.

A few years back I was longing for amps. Now, with my PA speaker and a cheap laptop I can have great tones and use those tones for live situations. Even my Zoom G1on (a pedal from 2015, I think) sounds great just because I've coupled it with a pedal that loads IRs.
Today is the future that we all dreamed of.

Tonex being a paid product it is definitely more refined for the end user. From a simplicity standpoint, the capture process on Tonex is more user friendly and the paid for Tonex captures are solid. The amp hub stuff is hit or miss, but mostly hit. I would say though that given the smaller pool of users and ratio of stuff that is already quality, the NAM community has the edge.
The Tonex Amplitube UI however, for being as popular and funded as it is… needs an overhaul.

Hi. Thanks for the video. I have one question. Can you please tell me what audio interface do you use with NAM, an what is the lowest latency?
Sorry on my bad English .

I am using a UA volt 276. I use the AISO driver and when I track guitars in my DAW I usually set the buffer to 128. I get about 7ms of latency.
On the NAM standalone on my desktop I can set the buffer to 64 and get about about 3ms of latency.

Here is the vst with the updated skin. I dont have one for the standalone. This vst might be outdated now since it is from April 26th and this seems to evolve daily.

It's not officially released (soon!)...but since the source is out there, folks can jump ahead and use the bleeding-edge features the moment they get merged into the codebase (and/or customize it!)

On NAM for some amps, rhythm sounded very good, but leads sounded so off, I don't know why, on Tonex both Rhythm and lead sounded very good. But haven't tried many amp+cabs for NAM. Why nobody cares to improve NAM make it more usable, maybe save the presets, switch inbetween presets etc.... When it's so good, why no improvements on UI?

    • @BaritoneGoatStudio
      @BaritoneGoatStudio  2 місяці тому +1

Really, the improvement have come by means of third party support and independent developers creating their own coding. If you poke around the GitHub page you can find some updated UI and there are some forums that host these different skins and add ons.
Also try and check out the two notes codex platform. It is part of their genome environment, and it hosts NAM files. If you have any two notes products, it may be free for you. But I do think third party adoption will be the way to expand the NAM capture technology.
