I was watching this video in bed and your voice was just so soothing to me. I was just at the doctor today and did a depression screening. I am very young and scored very high on the charts. My childhood and social life isn't the best and isn't very healthy or supportive. I watched this just because it was you and you are the one that made me want to start painting. Now, I have a whole lot of people telling me how good I am at it and it makes me happy. I do have bad days, everyone does, but just try not to get to far down where you cant express yourself or open up to people. I did watch the video and it soothed me so much I started to fall asleep lol. I just wanted to thank you for setting time aside and trying to help people and inspire people to paint. It actually helped me and I thank you because I wouldn't be doing art without you inspiring me. Thanks, Lots of Love.
I am so happy you have found art as a way to help you deal what you've been going through. I've subscribed to you in case you start putting your art on your channel 😊 no pressure, though. Just keep creating 😊 best of luck to you.
I've been struggling with my depression lately and started your 'paint with me' last week and I can't tell you how better it made me feel. Thank you for making these ❤
As a breast cancer patient I am grateful to know that there is something I can do to take myself away from stress! I have watched other tutorials but you bring me right in. Thank you and I hope to learn more from you!
Just wanted to say thank you for the work you do. Our 2 month old son died last April. A few days after I just felt the need to do something, anything as an outlet that wasn’t shutting down, breaking down, or doing some other stupid or self destructive thing. I stumbled on to your channel and despite not really being into painting, I decided to work through one of your seascapes. Your tutorial kinda made me think: I imagine that if there is an afterlife, it would have a place like that sea scape, a beautiful beach and an immense but inviting sea. While I was painting, I pictured that our son is really okay, that he is waiting for us on a beach like that one, just playing in the sand having a good time. Maybe that’s all just some emotional rubbish, but perhaps not... either way the work and subsequent thought process gave me some hope and peace. It awoke a new passion and provided a means of dealing with grief and depression in a healthy way. So anyways I do believe in art therapy and again thank you SO MUCH for doing these. I look forward to more of your tutorials.
Hi Katie I've suffered with depression and took up art 12 months ago after not painting since school it gives me so much pleasure you videos are brilliant and informative keep up the good work
How is this possible Katie?! How? I said before that your seascape get more and more beautiful. This is ridiculous! My seascape never ever ever look anything like yours but I hope when I try this one -- I'd be happy with even a fraction of the awesomeness you create. Something is happening to your body of work, every iteration grows in depth. This series is something very special.
Thank you for these, I am picking up painting for art therapy for my depression. These are wonderful and so helpful, mental health is often looked down upon thank you for supporting it and those suffering from it.
Thank you for making tutorials again!Your art makes me to want to paint again despite the everyday struggle!Your art means so much to me and I'm sure for many others!Remember it when it takes you down.
There are some really helpful stretches you can do lying down to help sciatica. For one, get on your back with your knees up like you are going to do a sit up. Then cross one ankle over so it is resting on your knee/thigh. If you need to, raise or lower your knee. It should feel like a good stretch in your lower back/booty/upper thigh - if painful, lower your knee. Hold the stretch for at least a minute, then switch sides. If I do that stretch regularly, it helps prevent pain. :-)
When she was blending it diagonally, I was like "NOOOO" but then she was like "now we're going straight to create a smooth blend" and wow. It looked gooood.
I always barely passed art in school and I started acrylic painting again a couple of weeks ago to get my head off of Uni stuff and I feel like if I just had someone like you/ other amazing artists on here to show me how painting is actually done I would’ve actually enjoyed art class.
This one is gorgeous Katie! I don’t suffer from depression but watching your videos always puts me in a very happy mood! 😘❤️ I am loving your new series of painting tutorials.
You and I have such different paiting styles...I like to watch your videos because I'm always amazed at the many different ways to make beautiful things

Depression, anxiety and pain are a cruel mixture but all my love to you Kate for sharing your amazing talent and empathy it is greatly appreciated even all the way down under here in Western Australia you are a gem. Katie you are an inspiration to me! I love how much of your "light" you share with the world through your painting process! Painting is indeed therapeutic...have you ever heard of the quote "I create because I am sad if I don't". Does anyone here else relate to that? Also, how do you position your camera so you don't bump into it when you are painting?
I love how you don’t use a million different brush sizes and a plethora of colours.
IKR
When you learn the basics of painting, you realize you don't really need tiny brushes as much as you think and can mix most colors with the basics

Her: Titanium White, Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium red, Magenta, idk Grey.
Me: White, Yellow, Orange, Magenta, Black.
Jimin’s Promise Those are the colors I said too lol
Most paint sets label each one so you don't have to worry about not knowing! :D
Same!!! The painting is gorgeous!!!
