Yo!!! Why did you throw away the entire basket!!😂😂
lmao i saw that to and had to do a double take😂
I'm not the only one lmao
Bro I was gonna write a comment glad I’m not the only one😂
I had to take a double take on that one too😂😂😂
Hahah. I saw that too
It’s awesome to see your home state get some recognition for how cool and diverse its fishery is. Truly is a one of a kind place. We need videos like this to spread concern for our depleting habitat due to erosion and storms etc. great video! Come back soon!
Tell me about it he caught the carp in front on my highschool
Yo Jon you threw away the reusable basket at canes 😂
Was searching for someone else who noticed😂
The way you pronounced boudin is killing me 😂
Frrrrr
Boo dean!!!😂😂😂 I commented the same thing! At first i didn’t kno wtf he was talking about then it hit me i was dying!!! We are like a whole different world in Louisiana especially here in New Orleans!!
Aye at least he knows whats up with the hot sauces!! Louisiana and crystal the goats
Fr tho
also if I saw someone in a bass boat on campus I would be so confused
The summer before my sophomore year of high school my family moved to Shreveport from Utah. I had always been into fishing but not a bass angler at all. When we got into our new neighborhood right on the southern edge of town I jumped on my bike and started exploring. I found a little bayou creek running under a bridge a few miles down the road and decided to give it a shot. I tied on a gigantic black and purple ribbon tail worm and proceeded to fish it like it was a small snake. I had no idea what I was doing. But by gawd it worked. The first bass I pulled from that creek was easily in the 8-10lb range. In my naive mind I thought all bass were that size. We were only in Louisiana for a few years and I never got deep into bass fishing as I was heavily involved in other sports. 25+ years later I have yet to catch anything bigger. One day I’ll get back down to the boot and hopefully catch a new PB. I’m highly doubtful that it’s going to happen up here in Idaho but you never know.
its so good but i swear ive seen this like 4 times already
I was having that same thought throughout! I swear I have watched this video before.
I know I’ve seen the being because I remember him fishing Shreveport
He also caught a carp their in another video this old ass video
Yeah with the casting concrete videos he just compiles videos he already made together to make longer form content
I swear
Born & raised south Louisiana. Very awesome for you to come explore the boot & showcase our state!
Awesome video, as a Shreveport native i'm glad you were safe. Some sketchy areas in Shreveport
Shreveport is just as bad as any mid size urban city. It gets a bad rap and the people who live here keep it going.
@@BradLeon1 Shreveports violent crime rate is easily above national average. Doesn’t mean I don’t love it here. With that said, if you’re not from Shreveport and go down the wrong street you need to be careful.
I can testify that is true
JON come to NEW BRAUNFELS TX COMAL RIVER I GOT A HONEY HOLE FOR U LMK I GIVE U LOCATION TO BEAUTIFUL SPOT ON COMAL
The lake is being drawn down for dredging. It is down 4’. It used to be a cypress swamp fed by bayou Duplantier. Early 1900’s it was clear cut and the bayou was dammed to create a lake. We used to water ski and fish but it began to silt in and nothing larger than a trolling motor is allowed because of the stumps. Currently the dredging project is removing stumps and sunken logs to create a larger flood control system. The lake record bass is 13 pounds 12 ounces caught under the interstate overpass.
27:46 RIP Canes tray
that's what i'm saying i was surprised there was no other comments lol
Man see Jon B casting concrete
Man watch with intensity
Man happy
Every casting concrete this mans says the same stuff “you can literally hear cars in the background” or something about goldfish being released and gettin big lmao. Absolutely love it
Sees Jon B pitching bread for carp - feels happy :)
That outro was beautiful too. Nice film Jon. :)
Hi Carl
The guy running into the boat while holding another Jon boat is hilarious
Lol I’m from BR and went to LSU and that’s hilarious that you actually put in at the LSU lakes. Awesome that Louisiana is getting some love though. Always great fishing down here. Great video!
same the lakes are drained and isn’t a good spot to fish anymore
Some massive catfish came out of those lakes. Sad to hear they drained them.
A 15+ bass was csught there years ago too
Absolute heat 🔥
I will say the lsu ponds have giants in them, but they have been doing some work on it with dredging and getting rid of grass, so that’s why it’s so shallow rn
Its been shallow for years and years, they ignored it for so long that its sad....
Nothing beats watching Jon b while rigging up your poles! Love the content Jon been watching for 7 years.
Missouri edition please 🙏 ❤
When the weedwaker john boat ran into the yatch, that made my day lol.
Jojobarz simply DOESN’T MISS. Can’t watch now but best believe when I’m off work. I’m on it
Im from Shreveport, Louisiana so cool to see this man much love Jon💙
INSANE. Now you gotta come Fish the Pearl River and all the great waters in Mississippi 👀👀👀
Your growing up fishing suburban Illinois sounds a lot like me growing up in suburban Indiana. I had a little pond by a cemetery, tucked away in a little block of woods, and noone fished it. I'd tie on a double spinner buzzbait in the summer and wade the pond. Man those were the days! My parents weren't outdoors folks, but I was ate up with it. My Granddad got me a 15 or 16 year subscription to Outdoor Life magazine, and that was my hunting/fishing mentor. I caught 5lb bass out of that little pond, and thought I was Al Linders! Lol
I got a paper route and bought a Ryobi baitcaster (the old top push button style from the early to mid 80's) and a pistol grip Berkley Lightning rod, along with numerous others. If I wasn't fishing, I was casting to a bucket in the yard, getting better with that baitcaster.
My mother passed not long ago, and I have been going through all her things, and found that old Ryobi/Berkley combo. It's not an Aldebaren, but 40+ years on, and it still works! 😂
Love the videos and your vibe not many UA-cam fishing channels are down to earth people like you are keep up the good work
I love the sneaky zynn’s in the back pocket 🤟
I’m a student at LSU and this year they have been dredging the lake. They just started to refill it 2 weeks before this video was posted. However even when the lake is completely filled it is 3-4ft at its deepest points.
NO WAY!!! I am from Louisiana and come here all the time for work and stay at the Margaritaville hotel and walk that boardwalk all the time and go in that bass pro shop every time. How cool would that have been to just see Jon B casually fishing.
John PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fish the Bassmaster Opens as an EQ angler. You owe it to us and yourself brother. Loving fish, and too fish is the main thing to be a good tournament angler.
Man I am so glad you were able to fish the park successfully! Shot out to Austin for hookin it up! Thanks for sharing Jon and hope all is well. God bless!
THis is a re-run lol i knew iv watched this content before. Good one Jon
Thank god someone else realized I thought I was going crazy
wish you woulda went to the wilson ditch in kenner. huge ones over there & you can walk over to pontachartrain
Ayeee my state!! Hopefully this helps me find more fishing spots. Thank you guys for coming down
Hey Jon, you should look into doing a Casting Concrete episode in Toronto. Have heard of many stories of people catching monster pike and other species right at pier of the city.
Next time you're in Louisiana, try fishing Laccassine Wildlife refuge. It's like the everglades, and the fish are huge!
Love the longer movie like format.
HOW do you not have like 10M subs? Your videos are animal planet worthy, but better. I’m always hyped for a new video.
You should do a casting concrete NY! From all the water in the ADK, the finger lakes, Ontario, so many options!
As a person from Louisiana to red fish you cought were bull reds and if you wanna catch a lot of the you have to go to a rocky place. And also there a lot of mysterious canals and creeks for big mud, blue, chanels cats and big gars
You are by far my favorite googan.
Hahahah flipping bread to carp! Dude I cut my teeth fishing the Ridley lake falls this way! 1978 my mom was so mad I burned so many loafs of bread doing this! Love it!
Anyone else notice Jon threw the Raising Canes basket away lol
Always a good day when a new Casting Concrete releases!!
This is a repost😢
Hey Jon, this might not be what you're looking for, but it's for sure urban. The Thames River in Southern ontario is full of smallmouth bass as well as carp, catfish, pike, suckers, rock bass and much more. There's even musky fishing opportunities where the river joins Lake St. Clair. It's full of life and makes a great paddle trip.
Did you just throw away the reusable basket at Raising Canes? 😂
Love casting concrete!! You should also do more food reviews double content would love more of that!! Keep killing the fishing:)
Gatlinburg ,Pigeon Forge TN. In Pigeon Forge you can catch large mouth and small mouth bass and in Gatlinburg you can catch raibow trout.
I live in LA just south of New Orlean where the fishing is second to none.
I go up to TN just cause I like the scenery and it's just a new way to fish for fish.
I caught a nice brown trout in the national park there too
Jon you need to come back and fish Chicot state park for giant bass, millers lake for giant bluegill
LSU Lakes are currently in the middle of a dredging project for the reason you found...way too shallow to be healthy. Not sure when you filmed but I didn't see any of the construction equipment so I'd guess it had to be 6+ months earlier. Those "bayous" are just drainage canals.
Thats awsome. Loved how you showed the air drop of trout in the high lakes after tossing thay bass. That video was taken in Oregon and its definitely common method. However, they really dont know how many make it. Maybe only a few if any. Or, maybe more then half. There's no data at the moments but maybe there should be.
broooooooooooooo you were in my home town wtf!! i could have taken you to a stocked pond with double digits for content! IM FREAKING OUT! You and Greg Blanchard are my heros man ive missed both of you while you were here!!!
❤️❤️❤️my Louisiana, totally enjoyed your input and video. I’ve watching you since you were a young lad . Baton Rouge is my home.
Hey Jon! Come to Utah!! It can be a challenging state, but you can start in the northern part of the state at Flaming Gorge. You can catch big lake trout, giant small mouth, rainbows, and Kokanee there. Make your way into Salt Lake City, and try to master one the hardest "concrete fishing" cities in the US. Keep making your way south, and fish at the most beautiful lake ever.. Lake Powell. It's apart of the Colorado river chain. Good largemouth and Smallmouth fishing, crappie, walleye, as well as giant strippers. My middle name is Powell after that lake. So I may be a little bit biased, but it's the most unique lake on earth. Filming there would be your camera man's dream place to film. Lots of great wildlife, but the B roll shots going through those winding, slick rock canyons would be so cool to see filmed. Drone shots=incredible. There is also Native American artifacts that can be explored at the lake. Gin clear water like Havasu, great for GoPro shots. This whole state can be explored, and have so many different backgrounds, climates, and regions for fishing. You or one of the Googans definitely to film some vids out here!! If you read this, and want to know more hmu!! I've been a subscriber for years, and I would love to help out with bringing you an idea of exploring a beautiful, challenging, and charming state! Thanks Dude! #neverstop
Jon b really needa fish caney lake in Louisiana such a Great Lake
Thx for letting the world know about the positive environment we are blessed with in N.O.
We all nice in Louisiana because we all feel that hurt, so glad you came back❤
Long time fan, glad to see you in my home state man. If you’re looking to catch an at least 10+ lbs striped bass in a private pond behind my house, come on over lol it’s never been caught yet. Located near Lafayette area, pond also has 5+ pounder bass
Most of what you are fishing in Baton rouge is fished out. If you can get down to the water, thousands have already been there. Then, you run into private property issues. Very few public places that you can fish. It's best to have a boat or kayak.
have you fished the Mississippi in North Baton Rouge by the old bridge? tons of river cats there.
Hahaha he actually fished the six flags. Thats too funny. Glad you made it out of there
Lsu lake was basically empty 2 years ago. Lwlf is like right next door to it and they just don’t care. City park lake holds bass with a kayak
Not Jon throwing the plastic tray in the trash 😂
I’ve caught a 9 pounder on a bed at the park you were fishing in Shreveport I grew up less than a mile from there. Super tough spot.
John got what we call a Texas grand slam. Keeper red, flounder and trout. It hard to get all three and all legal size since they have different season for targeting. They are the most sort out inshore game fish in the gulf. Great way to end with a carp like always
Jon, as a native Okie who has been in OKC the majority of his life, I'd love to show you around the city if you ever wanna do a Casting Concrete series here in OK. We have some great urban fishing spots.
I got insanely burned out on fishing during the kungflu quarantine cause it was my senior year and I was bank fishing Table Rock 7 days a week. Moved back down to Louisiana last year for work, living near Pontchartrain and my neighbor is getting me to finally get back on the water. Definitely missed watching your videos
@22:00 homie is fishing corporation canal on LSU campus after staying in Lod Cook. Plenty of turtles and snakes in there, but most of the decent fish will be in the pond behind the Crescent at University Lake (only access to condo owners, used to sneak in there in college and there was many +5lb largemouth). @22:50 homie fishing behind Todd Graves (Cane's owner) house. That pond is mostly silted in which can be seen from the video. Again, almost no fish in there. Jon, the entire university lake system is currently being dredged but used to have an old state record largemouth in the lake at @25:00. Average lake depth is ~2feet. Heavy siltation causes it be poor habitat, currently being rectified by the dredging contractor (Sevenson). Also. historic drought likely wiped out many of the fish last year. Come back in ~4-5 years and there should be a ton of largemouth everywhere. Source - I am a BR native and am an engineer who was part of the dredge design team.
Fishing that old duck pond haha! I take my kayak to a lot of th pose places in Shreveport/Bossier. It’s a good time!
after my fishing trip to New Orleans last summer I can confirm... Crystal hot sauce is the best lol
I’m from Blanchard LA and Ngl it’s good to see a big UA-camr come and fish out here. Next time you come down you should try caddo lake and the Blanchard to caddo portion of the Black bayou.
And cypress lake
That unknown fish is for sure a type of sucker. Possibly a Redhorse, maybe?
Man I wish I would have known you were coming down here. My neighborhood lake (my literal backyard) has 9lbs + bass. My friends and neighbors have caught multiple. Ranging from 6.6lbs to 9.3lbs. Very well managed and aerated. You’ll have to check it out if you ever make your way down here again.
27:46 bro threw away the black part too😂😂😂😂
I've just had a thought:
How about you go and fish in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone?
I've read that the fish are huge; not because of radiation, but because no one fishes there and they just have time to grow large.
Note:
You may have to dodge the Russian army and Ukrainian army recruiters.
They are actually draining out all the ponds at LSU and making it into something fishable since there is all kinds of crap that was dumped in there over the years
That big house in Baton Rouge where you lost your frog is owned by Todd graves, owner of canes chicken fingers. He had a treehouse built like the Ewok village from Star Wars- on the tv show treehouse masters
You were fishing the Shreveport Duck Ponds (the first ponds). Its been a trash spot for 20 years. Yall parked at Library and were literally 30 yards away from Rollin in The Dough and some of best burgers in town. Theres a bayou called Clear Lake down highway 1 thats all cypress trees and gators. Great spot to fish in a kayak. Some good lakes in Texas that are 90 minutes away too, Actual lakes. There are ponds everywhere in and around Shreveport but most are private.
LSU has some pretty crazy fishing certain times of the year, gotta find the pond Todd graves lives on its loaded
Lol when he threw the reusable basket away
They dredged that lake at lsu 2 months ago and hasn’t had any water in it.. I literally was walking on it a couple weeks ago. If you’re ever back look at Spanish lake off Alligator Bayou Rd.
Jon B. Sometime in your travels in MA, you should give Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg in Webster, MA a try. Freshwater fishing.
Yupppp same sense of deja vu. Maybe some new footage . But when Austin arrived , it was definitely an old footage... strange, very strange.
As a person from LA boo-dan is how you say it just kinda cringed when you were saying it 😂😂😂
I have seen carp destroy rods and reels... I had a 30 pound common carp burn up the drag in a reel... loads of fun because of the fight! Caught in spring from ice cold water decent for smoking too!
This makes me feel better about being skunked at the lsu lakes numerous times before I found them
😂😂😂
You should do a casting concrete tx gulf coast edition and target different salt water species. Try to get trout, redfish, flounder, black drum, sheepshead, and a jack by the end of it… Galveston to Freeport to rock port to corpus. 4 coastal cities to try and catch all sought after bay species would be awesome and very unique
I wish you would’ve done a louisiana meetup i live in Alexandria home of Saline Lake and Red River it’d be amazing to see a childhood idol
That carp spot is down the street from my house! Awesome to see you catching them so close to me. Those canals also have huge gar up to 6-7 feet!
Those first 2 goldfish/carp looked like black salties all grown up. They're great bait.
I think it’s hilarious that you actually tried to fish in the water skiing pond😂
Man i wish you would come to North Louisiana man i'd take you to some great lakes around here.
Glad to see you starting in Shreveport. That’s my home. When you come back, you should announce it, I’ll take you to some good spots bro
I really enjoy the casting concrete series. I think international episodes need to be made in the future. New species, new local cuisines and awkward encounters with the local residents. What’s not to love?.
Coming to Louisiana to fish the west esplanade canal is crazy
Something about that koi catch in the retention pond seemed very familiar
Well I'm happy for you guys down south to be able to catch fish I would love to see you do a casting concrete in Arizona or California
Love catching speckled trout and redfish . Those trout are really good eating. In my opinion better than redfish.
Every time you come 2 hours from my place you need to try Monroe west Monroe Bastrop lakes near this area are amazing
Let's goooo. I gotta spot for you for when you come back brotha. Gotta swing to lake verette
If you ever come back to Louisiana near Lafayette area I have a golf course you could fish!
