whats a good nest egg to have coming up? I have around $30k+ saved up.
I plan to eat Raman noodles followed by Raman noodles
@@rangermark-npsnevada9316 You should be able to live pretty well off of that when you're just getting started, but it depends on how much you will spend getting up, but it sounds like you will have a comfortable nest egg, depending on how much you budget for when you get up here.
I live in Bosnia and Herzegovina I have 40 years here there is no life for anyone otherwise in a small town there are days that I do not have to buy bread I would do anything otherwise I'm a cook if you could help me come to alaska would work anyone's job and you would pay as much as you say if you need half a salary is not a problem everything you say just to get out of this hell thank you in advance
I'm writing through the translator, sorry for the errors.
Anchorage in T minus 28 days! Just waiting to sign on the house- totally freaking out!
Whoop! Big moves only. You're getting up here right at the good time of year.
You are so lucky
How's it going up there moving in 4weeks

You make some great videos! I appreciate
Thank you, I really appreciate that!
I love you jamin you a real one!
A co-worker said he moved up in the winter - drove the AlCan. He said because it was so cold, anything that was plastic froze so hard it broke into pieces from the not so smooth ride.
That sounds pretty similar to what other folks have told me. You definitely need to make some rigging changes if you're driving the Alcan in the winter!
A relocation guide would be great!
Thanks for the tips on moving to Alaska.
My pleasure!
Very informative.
Sell everything and hop on a plane. If I'm moving to AK, I'm leaving everything behind for good reasons!
That is definitely the cleanest way to do it
Son and family are moving to AK soon. Thanks for all the information you put out. Making this slightly worrisome over protective father and Grandpa a little more at ease. My wife and I are also thinking about renting something small so we have a place when we come visit. We would like to come up at least 4 times a year, we will see.
My pleasure Tim! It was great talking with you the other day. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions. :)

I'm coming to the US from Australia on an E-3 Visa, i will be on the East Coast but hope to transition to remote work in the coming years and hopefully i can move to Alaska, has always been my dream to be able to fly fish amongst the incredible scenery there.
Question, how much fibre internet connection is available outside of Anchorage in rural / semi-rural areas
Relocation guide please !
I just found out that as of now the furthest the ferry will go this year from Bellingham is Haines AK, this is no good because you still have to cross through Canada and do a ton of driving to get up to Anchorage or Fairbanks....
My wife and I are planning to retire to Alaska in 5 years and we appreciate all the info from your videos. Could we get a relocation guide? Thanks
That's exciting! Of course, feel free to reach out to me on my website and I'll send it over.
Hi Jamie! Great video! May I have a relocation guide? We are considering the Kenai Peninsula - so Sterling, Soldotna, Kenai, Kalifornsky or even Big Lake, Palmer, Wasilla and around that area. Thank you!!
Jamin! Not Jamie. Sorry! Auto correct got me.
@@BearMom75 Hey Ella! That's awesome! If you will reach out on my website, I will send it over to you Jgoecker.kw.com.
We are planning to move there in seven months. We have done a lot of research for about three years. Was gonna move there in 2021 but COVID happened. But it has given us plenty of time to think and organize. We have jobs that are transferable, we will be renting, we think that is the smarter thing to do, so we have some time to look around and get a idea of were in Alaska we want to live forever and what kind of home we want. We have decided to sale all of our stuff in our home and we will fly there, so we will just be starting fresh and buy new things, it will be the easiest for us to do. Alaska feels like home to us for sure and we love cold weather. We are down to earth folks who love fishing, hunting and growing our own food, we also love hiking. We are so happy and can't wait to make Alaska our home!
That's exciting, and a long time coming :) Let me know if folks have questions with the move.
@@alaska_realtor Thank you! Lol it's hot can't wait for the colder weather. We live in the mountains of Blairsville Georgia, lt's beautiful here but nothing compared to Alaska. I've been to Germany for the military and they have some beautiful mountains. I love the mountain life!

I grew up in WA and have family in Petersburg AK that I visited when I was 15: I grew up with parents who love the outdoors and naturally fell in love with AK. My husband grew up in the mountains of CO and he missed the cold and the mountains. He has 3 years left in the military and we have been in GA for 9 years. So it’s been a LONG time since we’ve lived in a cold climate but AK is the dream though we’ve had family members tell us our kids are going to get eaten by bears if we go to AK…. (New fear unlocked). BUT: What are your tips for moving a family with several young children from the Deep South to the far North?
I was born and raised in Georgia. Then lived in Florida for 33 years. I moved outside of Anchorage 2 years ago. You'll be fine.
But bears and moose..... with young children you definitely want to use caution. Kids in my neighborhood run the streets all the time though.
Moving to Alaska from Colorado this June think you just got a new client
Awesome! 😃 how are you liking it so far?
Can you tell me more about it
Lookin to relocate! Please send me info! :)
Will it be pretty easy to get a bartending job in Anchorage once I arrive around April 2023? I have a lot of experience and references and will have my my Alaska alcohol certification before arriving.
You sound like you're going to be in a great position to get a job. You shouldn't really struggle with finding a position in my experience.

Hello, I am soon-to-be a college graduate. Single. Never married. No Kids. No pets (yet). A pretty easy-going type of person. Would you recommend Anchorage or Fairbanks for someone in my position? Thank you in advance for any sort of insight and guidance you may be able to provide.
Can I move there I can’t work I get a check from ssi
Is this for americans of europeans only? I'm not a US citizen but want to move to Alaska to pursue a MA degree and permanently live there because I want to live in the North with beautiful natural reserves close at hands.
Number #6 is a bear, a angry winter bear. the logistics of moving is blowing my mind. I still haven't figured it out and it's making me nervous.
Nothing to it really. I took the AlCan Hwy. Drove by myself from Florida in a huge U-Haul, and used an auto transport to tow my SUV. You just take one mile at a time and enjoy the adventure and sights along the way. I would love to take that trip again one day. But the cost of gas was in the thousands for that long of a trip (from Orlando) so be prepared to pay 🤑🤑🤑😬
How much higher are home construction costs in Alaska versus the Lower 48?
I don't have the breakdown of that, but I plan on interviewing some builders for an upcoming episode.
@@alaska_realtor I look forward to seeing that!
