- Amazing video of mcrae and grist on board the greatest sounding rally car ever. the metro 6r4. when the throttle jams on knockalla they are only inches away from the atlantic.
Is it just me, or did he literally smile in the face of his sticking throttle?! Absolute mad man, and a true legend. RIP, Colin.

@mo22000 easyly reach 170kph its just over 100mph the car is probably geared for 130-140mph so probably do it in 4th gear. youd be suprised just how quick these boys can push these cars down roads you or I would struggle to do 60mph.
If Colin raced in Group B he'd make all the competition look like pushover.He was always going full throttle and never gave up,which is why he is my favorite.And this onboard is simply amazing.Shows Colin in his element.
no the 170 is distance to next turn because after driving garygort and knockalla there are very few places where you could achieve 170kph.

@mo22000 he would easy be doing 170kmh here. by the 1st corner he would already be hitting 130ish so 170 is no problem for mcrae.

I never understood the terms. Like short and long. Like that guy i always thought the numbers spoken before curves was the goal for the speed you should be at to get a good time.
Say, a left 1 is a pretty sharp corner, almost 90 degrees, a left 6 is shallow and can be taken at high speeds. Short means the curve is short, long means it goes on for a bit. 100 is a straight that is 100 meters long.
The numbers are gears, Colin used a number system where the numbers were gears. So a 4 left is a 4th gear corner to the left..
