I have started a backpack program at my local elementary school. Basically there are children that go home on the weekend and have nothing or little to eat until they get back to school on Monday. This breaks my heart. So what we have done is started this program. We take donations from all around and pack little over the weekend backpacks with things for the children to eat. It has been so amazing to see the community get involved with this program. It makes me cry every Friday to see those babies get so excited to see me coming with their backpacks. They return them on Monday and I get them repacked. Its something small, but I believe it is very important.
Thank you so much. I just cant stand the thought of little kids not having something to eat. I hope this brings awareness. I feel so blessed that I have been given the grace to follow through with this.
Dani, thank you for you generosity and always being genuine. I would love to give those pallets to me daughter who is just getting into makeup to jump start her very own collection. Something thing that I'm doing to give back is I've been giving makeup lessons to my daughter's friends as well as her. I didn't have anyone to do this for me when I was younger so I really never knew how to apply makeup properly until I was a bit older so I just didn't wear any in school. I don't want them to feel intimidated by something that should be enjoyable. Hugs, Becky
I am going to be struggling this holiday season. I lost my Mom in July and Christmas was her favorite holiday. She loved all the decorating, cooking and present giving. She wanted to do it all. She would decorate her house inside and out with so many lights and decorations. I miss her every second. Dani, I just love your videos and you yourself. You are alway so upbeat and happy. I look forward to your videos to help me get out of the sadness fog I am in. God Bless.
im sorry for your loss too. i just lost my gramma in july and ive never been closer to anyone in my life. i bought her house so it wouldnt get sold. i feel so close to her being in her home with all of her things. im slowly making it my own but it feels good to do things in my normal routine there like when she was alive. this will be our first thanksgiving without her and none of my family wanted to do anything.. i told them i am doing thanksgiving just like gramma always did so u r welcome to come. everyone is coming and im so nervous since now its my thanksgiving and not grammas. i will just pretend she is with me since i feel her with me anyway. i hope your holiday season isnt too hard. try to remember the good times and how much your mother loved it! decorate just like her! she would love that i bet! and im sure u would too! God bless u and your family!
You should do the same for your mom! Making yourself happy is the best thing you can do for her.. I feel you and I wish I can send you a big hug! Stay strong! :)
Very sweet of you Dani! I can't do much this year because I will NOT be in the holiday spirit this year! I just lost my husband in July and I just haven't felt very good lately! Someone is gonna be lucky to receive any of the eyeshadows that you are getting rid off! Have you thought about doing a makeup kit for woman or girls that live in a shelter with the makeup that you may of just swatched. I do think they would appreciate it!
I've already arranged to feed the poor for thanksgiving and have put together a toy drive at my school. Growing up I didn't have alot and wish to help others. I love the idea of spreading the cheer during the holidays, studying psychology has taught me that this is the time of year when suicide is more prominent and my goal for the rest of my life is doing anything in my power to help those numbers decrease... All it takes is a smile, a hug, a random act of kindness, some kind of attention to show these poor souls that they aren't invisible and who knows you may save someone's life this holiday season. SMILE MORE, WORRY LESS. Thanks Dani for always being so positive.
My random act of kindness isn't too random. I am a college student and will be graduating this coming Spring. My parents have given me my whole world and future and supported me through college, as well as, my two older siblings. Since my parents have spent so much time and energy and money on us, my siblings and I are surprising them with a two week vacation all expenses paid to Bora Bora. We know it doesn't even begin to compare to what my parents have done for us but we just want to show them we do appreciate everything they have done for us. We picked the Bora Bora because growing up my parents always said if they had the money to vacation anywhere in the world, that's where they would go. I love that you're doing this giveaway. It's amazing to see all of the wonderful things all these ladies are doing for others.
I have had 5 brain surgeries for Chiari Malformation and am scheduled to have 2 more after the beginning of the year. I am the parent to an 18 yr girl who would love her first palettes. Not only am I not well but my mom has been in and out of the hospital for 3 months now with strokes, blood clots, pain and fractures. I will be spending my time trying to make my mom happier, decorating her hospital for the holiday and praying for a miracle. Trying to 'KEEP IT POSITIVE'. Thank you so much for brightening our days with your vlogs... it is the smile in my day!
GIVEAWAY CLOSED! GIVEAWAY CLOSED! GIVEAWAY CLOSED! ALL ENTRIES MADE AFTER THIS POST WILL •NOT• BE CONSIDERED ENTRIES. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE PARTICIPATED! WINNER IS: Becky Rogers
We're moving so I've been decluttering a LOT. I've donated tons of clothes and shoes to a fellow church member, lots of toys to my church's nursery, and tons more clothes to our local Salvation Army. Not life changing, but the family I spoke of is going through a tough time and it made me happy to see them so happy :)
I always feel so bad when you or any of the other beauty youtubers I follow have to make disclaimers about your makeup collections or have to make explanations about you do with your makeup. I'm not sure what people expect .... But thank you for always being positive, funny, and having a smile on your face. This year we are donating to the "Make a Wish" Christmas tree that collects toys/clothing/ shoes for foster children. It's always so important to us to make sure that all children get to enjoy this holiday season! I follow you on both twitter (@zodanni) and IG (alieced) :)
I hate that they have to make disclaimers as well. It's their money, their time, their space. Plus they have to keep up with what's new or else ppl wouldn't watch!
I have just started volunteering my evenings and weekends to a foster family who is dealing with two little ones along with a 14 year old who has some mental delays. It is safe to say they have been getting a little overwhelmed. As I am the youngest in my family, and having never been around babies, I was a little nervous to say the least. Since being around them, I have understood the true meaning of life, love, and what is truly important. Bring a shopaholic/make-up addict, you feel the thrill of the hunt, in finding new makeup and the next great deal. But the first time one of those babies fell asleep in my arms.... it truly showed me what is important. I wish you and your family a happy and safe holiday season, Dani, and never stop inspiring. xoxo
It‘s funny because you said in another palette related video about how you were able to get the vice Ltd before it was available, and told your viewers to grab it if they got the chance. Now you say you only swatched two shades and don't even like it. Why did you push it to your viewers if you didn't use it or like it?
***** You should do a palette dupe video. I know, personally, I would be interested in finding out what more affordable palettes are dupes for high end palettes.
I work at a service station and one of my regular customers is a man named Mr. James. He's about 75 years old. He is the most loving, selfless, kind hearted man I've ever met! He has several grown children with kids of their own, and they don't live very far from him...yet they never speak to him or check on him. He's had several heart attacks this year, along with surgery for clogged arteries in his leg (which they wanted to amputate). When he had his heart attacks and his kids weren't there for him, I've been staying at the hospital with him and cleaning his house. And since he didn't have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with family and loved ones, I brought him a bunch of good home cooked food and spent the day talking with him. It's really sad to see someone have to go through so much all alone. Love you so much! Your videos are my life!!! I'm 31 but just now getting into the whole makeup thing so I recently started branching out a little and tried some new things! Now I'm in love with makeup...I've never been able to afford high end stuff, so the 2 high end shadows I have I hold near and dear to my heart (Stila Kitten and Nars Kauai). I sooooo want to try the new Nars dual intensity shadows...just can't afford that right now! But please don't stop doing what you do...you brighten my days!!!
Please don't enter me in the giveaway..have too many pallettes already ..but I wanted to say that I love this series. My makeup stash isn't insane but a little more than I need. I only got into makeup at the start of last year. My husband and I do "allowances" to make sure we stay on budget but I find myself spending almost all of my allowance on makeup or beauty products in general esp last year cause I was trying out everything..so all that to say I have been so inspired to go through it all with an honest heart and pass on the things I don't use..and my friends love it too 😊 so thanks
every year around this time, I get together with my little brothers (now 11 and 16, who I guess aren't so little anymore, I'm 27) and we go through pretty much the entire house finding things that we don't use anymore that someone else could benefit from having. The things collected range from clothes to toys to makeup to cookware, etc. We like to think of it as spring cleaning in December, as opposed to Christmas in July. We take boxes and bags of things to the salvation army or homeless shelters. Love your channel Dani! You stand for and support all of the good things that should be upheld and that many people tend to forget. If I win I will probably keep my favorite one and gift the rest to those I may not get the chance to buy presents for every year.
The video I subbed to was about having too much makeup and how you only should keep what you use. I was so intrigued by that way of thinking and fast forward it almost feels like you have fallen into the same "hoarder" category as most BV's. I hope I am wrong but while watching your series I heard, "I have never used this" so many times. I hope I am wrong but what I loved about your channel was how different it was from the others.
I understand what you're saying BUT you have to remember we ask her for reviews, we ask her for first impressions. I lovvvveeee watching her first impressions/ reviews because of her honesty and I value that. So in her defense she collects makeup for her channel, for us really and after almost 2 years of videos reviewing multiple products that WE love watching, how can she not pretty much double her collection.
I've always wanted to do something to help others but I never knew how, or I never had the resources. This year, I'm putting together 20 care packages with my friends to give away to those we see on the streets who may need them. Each care package includes a warm blanket, bottled water, 3 different types of canned food, deodorant, 2 pairs of socks, and a small tooth brush and tooth paste. We collected these items from various Goodwill stores and Dollar stores. We're sorting all of these items into backpacks to give to any individuals who need them. I'm so excited to finally be able to give back to others this year!
Not entering the giveaway, on a completely unrelated note. I have been rewatching desperate housewives lately and I never noticed before but you look A LOT like Eva Longoria!
When I get home from college for Christmas break, I plan on going to our local junior high where they've recently cut a lot of funding to teach art to the special needs, autistic, and behavioral disorder classes. My mom works there and teaches art to them all the time, but I love going into their classrooms to help out while they're in school. They are the sweetest kids, and working with them always brings a smile to my face! Also, before my finals are over, my school in Chicago does this program where we make meals for the homeless and go downtown to pass them out as well as provide them with blankets and coats before the winter gets really bad. Happy Holidays Dani!
Idk if it necessarily counts as an act of kindness, but I've started a couple months ago decluttering EVERYTHING I own because I'm a neat freak and have to have everything organized and have been feeling like I have too many things that just sit there and don't get used. So I've donated a ton of clothes and have given away makeup/beauty products to friends who will use them more than I will. It's a great feeling as I'm sure you can relate. Love you Dani, hope you're having a great week! :)
I love your declutter series! So glad you're not taking a break! I'm planing on being more kind towards people, smile more, be considerate and just the best person I can be so I can affect others in a positive way :)
My dad owns a rescue mission/soup kitchen. When I go to visit my parents over the holidays, we normally spend thanksgiving/Christmas (and every other day) serving breakfast or lunch to the homeless and giving gifts. It's def something that I enjoy doing. Xx
This winter I plan on making both of my children's teacher feel extra special. They are both so caring and amazing at what they do; I admire their patience so much. Recently my kindergartener was sick, when he went back to school she was such a great help. I'm so grateful for teachers, they are like second parents to our children!
This winter/holiday season my family will be helping out at our local food bank mainly to give them an extra hand during thanksgiving and Christmas. It's a tradition we started years ago when I had to do community service for a school program. Now we do it every year. It feels great to give someone who might not get a thanksgiving turkey or a big Christmas dinner that opportunity. Thank you Dani. We love you and happy holidays
Every holiday we get at least 2 tags from the local giving trees. Being a formerly single Mom I know how it can be a struggle at the holidays and it feels good to know you're helping a family have a little extra for Christmas.
I would rather comment on my kids and an acts of kindness directed towards me recently. I have a 15 yr old a 10 yr old and 5 yr old.. Recently my teenage daughter has been going through issues and hurting herself and as a young mom I didn't (don't)know how to deal with this. I'm so grateful to have my mom with me through such a difficult time.. She's the most loving supportive and uplifting woman and I'll never forget her advice and how much she's been there for me and my kids. She's made me realize that as parents it's okay to make mistakes, and that our kids love us unconditionally. I'm extremely blessed...
Dani you are such a sweet person. You inspire me to want to do so much more for people just to help out in any way I can. Thanks for all you do for so many of us!
Every school year I volunteer with a local program that mentors elementary school kids and provides food to them and their families for the week. We meet with them once a week to chat and encourage them. It's amazing. This winter we are having a holiday party and I cannot wait to spoil these kids and their families!
This winter (and the last 3 winters before this) I plan on donating cloths, shoes, handbags, etc. to our local shelter. Not just my own things but I gather up all my friends and families no longer used/needed items as well. I also go to our local nursing home for the elderly during the Christmas holiday and paint all the ladies fingernails all festive!! They enjoy it soooo much! Its very emotionally and spiritually rewarding. It's nothing extravagant or to creative but its all I have to offer (I also bring my 7yr. Old son along so he can also "give" and learn values). It is so humbling and eye opening to be reminded of how much I really do have when I see people with so little.
Love these videos and your attitude about your collection. As a family my husband and I teach our son every year that while we are fortunate enough to have a great Christmas there are those out there that are not in our position. Each year we buy gifts for the kids in our community so they know that they aren't forgotten ❤️
This winter I plan to buy presents for people I usually don't. I have always been more into receiving than giving but this year I'm spending my money on others even if I don't get anything back. It feels better to know you have made someone else feel great.
The smashbox full exposure mini palette is wonderful! The shadows are nicely pigmented and blend well. Definitely need a good primer under them but it's so small and great for travel if you know you're going to be doing basic daily eye looks. Keep it!
Dani, thank you for always being such a sweet, caring person. I have met many people in my life and you are one of the few that have made an impact on me. Something I have been wanting to do for someone in need is setting up care packages with tissue, water, snacks, deordorant, etc. for people I see on the streets.
This winter my family is flying from all over the world to come spend Christmas and New Years, some of them I haven't seen in 4 years. I really want to help my grandpa, who has been in and out of the hospital, to find a home or place where he can get help since he lives alone. I thought i would also mention that I'm a new subscriber to you and I really love your personality and how genuine you are to your viewers, I think it is really rare to find youtubers like you. Have a great rest of your week and month! :D
I'm planning a dessert fellowship for the ladies at my church in a couple weeks. It's going to be so much fun, I know they are going to love all the little surprises I have planned for them! Thanks!
I didn't make any plans for winter yet, but for now, all I want is to spend more time with my family, mostly because I study in a different city and I can't see them as often as I would like. Also, I am a volunteer at my college and every year we organise a beautiful project in order to help students. It is wonderful to see how many students get involved and to see how the project gets bigger and popular every year :).
For the past few years I've donated toys and volunteered my time with Parker Street Ministries. They have a really amazing ministry in the low income section of the city I live in. They open a Christmas store every year for the parents of the neighborhood to come and shop for their kids. It is really neat to see the joy and pride on their faces that they can buy gifts for their children at a price they can afford.
Hi dani, what we as a family usually do during this time of the year is to do some decluttering of our closet, we choose clothes and shoes that we rarely use but are still in good condition to be passed on to someone we know that they may be able to use it, or donate some to be given to people that are in need. It's always have been a tradition in our family to give and share in this time of the year in any possible way we can :) .. God bless on your channel.
I'm really loving the declutter videos. At almost 29, I'm just now really getting into makeup and beginning to build a practical collection. These videos give me inspiration to sit down every year and clear out what I don't love or use by giving it to someone. My family is full of philanthropist (literally). My mom works in higher education raising funds for scholarships to give more students the chance to receive an education and my Memma (grandmother) has been doing food/clothing drives since before I really understood what they were. This fall, I completely purged all things that I no longer need/use. This holiday season I'm planning to donate all the items to numerous organizations: Christian center, Goodwill and Salvation Army. Thanks for another great video and an opportunity to win some cool palettes! Keep up the great work. You're one of my favorite channels!
Hi Dani! I just got my first car (at 24 years old lol) and I'm so grateful for it. Its a little beat up inside but Ive been putting so much love into this car finding ideas on Pinterest. I came across a pin about putting a car kit together with neccessities for a girl to always have around and I also came across a pin about something called a "blessing bag". They are packets you put together in big ziplock bags with neccessities someone homeless would need. Needless to say, I truly fell in love with the idea and I have 3 little blessing bags in my car to give to any homeless person I see on the street especially in this time of year. In the bags I have included a pair of warm socks, a health bar, jello cups, mini toothpastes and tooth brushes, body soap, $2 in quarters for a coffee and a couple of other things too. I work at a YMCA and told my boss what I did and she also fell in love with the idea and now we are all putting packages together with full size items to give to families who really need it and the homeless! I am so incredibly happy to be the person behind the care packages at my YMCA.
I have recently got my first job and so now I want to give back to my family and say thank you. My mom works so hard to provide for us so this Christmas I want to treat her to a spa day. Get her hair done, nails. So she can unwind and relax this Christmas and not worry about life this season. When I was younger I use to be curious about my sister's makeup and a lot of them would end up destroyed or lost so I'm putting together various makeup and tools just for her. :)
my boyfriend and i adopted a foster child every christmas. We get them gifts and things that they need. But this year, since we both make a little bit more money know we decided on adopting a whole family. Its always nice for me to do this because i was once that kid that received from others especially during the holidays, and it just reminds me that though we may not have much what i can give can make a difference in a young childs life
Oh my god, I did the same thing with Sleek. I ordered a bunch of stuff on sale because I wanted to stuff as much as I could into the shipping, and have hardly touched them, even though they look really good.
Another house burnt down in our town! The 3rd one in the last 6 months! I donated some blankets and toys to them.. Wish I had more to give... It's just awful.. I'll use this as my act of kindness event though as a small community I think it's our job to help each other. Our family dog ran away this summer and I can't believe how much the town helped is! Event the cops were helping us it's amazing and touching!
Well I do this several times per year and I am in the process of getting together another bundle. There is a single mother of three at my church and not only do I always recycle my daughter's gently used clothing/toy items, I give them each a gift card so that they can pick up something for the holidays. We always do a coat/sock drive and feed the homeless on Christmas morning. My daughter gets more excited about feeding them with each year. What a feeling!
I love these de cluttering videos! This holiday season will be very different for my family due to my parents getting a divorce. I'm 28 so it's not bothering me as much, very long story. But with saying that, I'll be helping my mom with her new transition, confidence,an ear to lend and someone to always be there for her, especially now through this difficult time for her..even though I live an hour and a half away! I love watching your videos and seeing how close you are with your mom!
Every year my sister and I both get a Salvation Army Angel and we go all out for them! Since neither of us have any kids yet, we want to bless those who are having a hard time. Every child deserves to feel that holiday magic and it feels amazing to be able to give that to them! Happy Holidays!
Every year my church and my school do Operation Christmas child where you bring different items for hygiene, small toys, and several other things to put in a Shoebox and send to a child all over the world who doesn't get Christmas gifts and is in need. It's a very fun and heart warming thing to do. Definitely the highlight of my holiday!
I always love your videos, you inspired me to declutter too when I watched your first decluttering video. Thank you! As for this holiday season, we usually donate clothes and blankets to the Candle lighter program. My middle child also wants to put together small holiday goody bags and take them to the children's hospital for the kids who won't get to be home for the holidays. He has a huge heart!
One big thing that I will be doing this winter is helping my grandma de-clutter her house. They are finishing the basement and there is a lot of work to be done. Happy Holidays! Thanks for having such an honest opinion on everything you review.
At my school we are able to mentor kids in kindergarten through 5th grade. We get kids to work with how do not have a good home life. I love my kid he's the best and amazing and so full of energy. It's a pleasure to be able to work with him.
This winter I've been trying already to get one of my friends up and running with a better job, a place to live, and a car since hers just died. It's a necessity for her and friends should always be there to lend a helping hand.
The Grinch nailed it. The women living in shelters are hoping to re-enter the work force and I think interview appropriate clothing and makeup would boost confidence! You have such a gentleness and motivating spirit. I think you'd do them wonders by speaking and/or how to seminar, Dani.
I have about a month off from college so during the winter break I'm going to help my mom around the house, running errands, and things of that nature. I know how she's so swamped with everything, so I'm going to do everything I can do to make the holiday season easier for her.
One thing I love to do is ALWAYS donate to food drives. And also, my friend who works at build a bear always does an event where you can go and build any bear you want and she donates them all to the children's hospital where her brother passed away from cancer. There's always a fun way to give back if you try :) keep up the great videos dani!
Thank you dani!!! Every year I gather clothes jacket ect. Through out the year because every year we go to Mexico in December and we pass them out to people that need them... Thank you for everything you do!!
I'm doing a food drive at school for the children and families who are less fortunate to make sure they have food for the upcoming holidays! it feels great to make someone else's day/holiday a little bit better:)
Im leaving a kindness foot print by helping an older women that lives in my apartments with getting food this winter. She is unable to work and her ssi checks are barely covering her rent and other bills. I just love this old crazy lady. She is one where if you need something and she has it she is more than willing to give it to you. Even if its her last dollars. She is so sweet. I know this isnt alot but the elderly people seem to be forgotten alot. And it takes one act of of kindness for a snowball effect to take effect.
My female friends know that I am interested in makeup, so they often ask me for advice. For holiday gifts I was thinking about analyzing what sort of stuff they were asking me about and get them products that will help solve those issues (primers, colour correctors, etc.). Especially because where I live there is not much choice in stores, so you have to order online and know what you are looking for.
I plan to put all my effort in trying to be greatful for what I have. I feel that I always want something else and have to just stop for a second and appreciate what I really have. I love you so much Dani and you are such a inspiration
Since I am a college student and I don't have much money laying around I tend to get involved more than spend money on things. I like to help at the Welcome Table in town which is an event every week were people can come and get a free warm meal. I also like to help with the backpack program. Each week a backpack is sent home with students who often won't have enough to eat over the weekends if it all without it. I also make sure that when I am out and about on campus I smile at people. Holidays are especially hard and a smile could maybe turn someones day around.
This will be the third year my sisters and I will make Samaritan gift boxes. Filling up a shoebox with goodies her either a boy or girl and for the holiday season! Its always fun to do them with our nieces and teaching about kindness and sharing!!
I help through my daughters school give to families in need of food and presents for the holiday. I've been a family in-need before and had people give to my family. Now I'm able to help in that way for a family/families it makes me so happy.
This winter I will be donating winter clothes to shelters. I grew up not having a lot of money and (still really don't have a lot) know how it feels to be cold during the winter season. I will also be helping my sister in-law plan her wedding while I do the same for myself!! Good luck to everyone who enters! You all deserve it!!
I don't branch out and do a lot of things during the holidays but this year my brother adopted two foster girls and I plan on trying to spoil them this Christmas and show them that they have a new family that really loves them.
This winter holiday I plan to make sure that, first, I show everyone in my life just how much I love them. I don't need to necessarily give them presents, although I will, but I also just started college, so I'm making sure I'm spending alot of time with my family and other friends. Secondly, this holiday season I want to work with my mom in downtown LA giving out food and working with her in the clinic, not only will I be helping people but I'll be spending quality time with my mom. Lastly, I've been trying very hard to make my beauty blog not just a beauty blog but something for younger girls than I to look up to. I watch all your videos, and many other vloggers out there and I see people that, 4 or 5 years ago I wish I had had as role models. I want to try to be a role model for my followers and my friends, a good one. I'm thankful for you Dani! You've made my first year in college particularly special, especially since I get to have my coffee break with you!
Since its the Holiday season, and so many children are more unfortunate then mine, we have been going through my girls toys and giving away at least half of them to a women & childrens shelter in my town. It was such a great lesson to teach my girls, we are going to make it a tradition around this time of year!!
Every year I make it a point to donate when I'm asked at various retailers. I also make sure to donate toys to the Angel Tree for The Salvation Army. At my old bank they had angel trees every year and have a bunch of angel tags on them. The tags have a gender and age on them, and you buy them a gift and attach the tag to it and put it back under the tree, you take the other half of the tag to put on your own tree. I love it. And it makes me feel great to be able to help others in need.
I love your videos so much! This winter I'm volunteering at my church to help serve dinner to the widows and elderly. It's one of my absolute favorite things to do during the holiday season! I'll also be helping out my mom a lot since she's going to be having double knee replacement in the next few weeks.
Hi Dani! I am so grateful I found you on UA-cam! Such a big inspiration. This year I have been blessed with more than I could ever hope for, so this winter I am getting family together to cook "to go meals" and donating to shelters, homeless, anyone in need here in the Dallas area.
Thanks for being so awesome. I haven't thought much of what I will do as an act of kindness. But. I feel that taking in my sisters kids and giving them stability and love and affection is a great act of kindness.
I find you channel truly an inspiration! Keep up the good work Dani! This year we are helping do Christmas for a family that isn't able too! Enjoy your holidays!!!!
I've been de cluttering my house too not makeup tho, I have been getting de cluttering my guess purses and giving them to my moms co workers daughters since they are less fortunate . They just love the purses and clothes I've given them it's nice to see smiles on their faces
My family works in the soup kitchen every year and donate all thanksgiving leftovers to those in need. Love your channel girl :) You're a great beauty vlogger!
alright, you've inspired me. I need to start decluttering asap! My husband and I adopt a family for Christmas, so we go through an organization, find a family in need and buy them presents/things they need off of a list. It's so fun to shop for the kids, but also to spoil the parents as well since Im sure they work so hard for their family! Hope you have a great thanksgiving!! xo
This Thanksgiving my campus ministry and I hosted a thanksgiving dinner for homeless people in the Roanoke, Virginia Area, where we cooked for them, served them, and sat with them and talked with them. Some people even performed and played instruments, and some of us ran a face painting station for the kids. Also, we prepared Thanksgiving baskets with foods for a dinner that my church is going to send out to other people in need for the holidays.
I work in a supermarket so this winter i'll be donating lots of "waste" food to homeless shelters, none of it is really waste, dented tins, broken packaging, or freshly baked bread that we can only sell on store for one day, all things we (as consumers) take for granted and assume isn't "good enough". I'll also be personally helping my local food banks, i needed them earlier this year and wouldn't have survived without their help.
I'm a stay-at-home mom and despite the limited resources I have, I'm so blessed that my kids occasionally receive gifts (toys, clothes, etc) from family and friends from the States and here locally. Because my 2 kids grow up so fast, their things pile up. It has been a Christmas/New Year tradition in our family to de-clutter as well. I have been teaching my kids to set aside their things that they want to keep and giveaway. My country, the Philippines, has been plagued by calamities. Last year was a devastation because we were hit by two freaks of nature: quake that hit the Visayan region and the storm surge caused by typhoon Haiyan. These happened in a span of less than a month. A lot of families have suffered and they're still struggling to survive even after a year has passed already. With that said, I want to share the blessings that we have received. The things we have with us may not be brand new but I am pretty sure that they will be more appreciated and useful to last year's victims. We hope to bring some love, warmth and joy that my family is blessed to have to those who needed them most. Sharing is indeed the true spirit of Christmas. Happy holidays!
You are so kind and inspiring, Dani. This winter, as well as everyday, I plan on trying to create happiness all around me. I want everyone that I love to feel loved. I know some people I love are having a rough time lately and all I want to do is keep a smile on their face and let them know I love them. Creating happiness for others will increase my happiness as well.
Ive already started but I'm Being more grateful for any help or assistance offered to me by others and to give back in kind as well. Especially to family!
I plan on just spending as much time as I can with my family this holiday season. And also give to as many charities as I can. I'm making my gifts this year since I can't afford to go all out but I always make sure to give to children's charities since I remember not having much growing up. It's a great feeling knowing I've helped someone out.
Hi dani as always I loved your decluttering video and it inspires me to do the same! This time of the year during the holidays our job at the sheriffs office every year we do a canned food drive and a toys for tots drive and I love bringing in canned food and toys to our drive so that they deliver these to those in need. It's one if the reasons why I love where I work we care about our community and we save lives. I know at the end of each day we made a difference in someone else's life no matter if they need police Fire dept or an ambulance ❤️
Every year at Christmas time, a group of us get together and crochet hats for our local NICU units. It's a huge group, nationwide and it's amazing! Last year we donated close to 20,000 little bitty baby hats just in the month of December. I try to donate all year round, but for some reason it just feels more special around Christmas! :)
This holiday season will be my little family's first year away from our families back in Texas. My husband is in the military so we are going to make best of the holidays. We are donating some toys to Operation Toy Drop & doing 12 days of good deeds. You are just a joy to watch!
My older sister suffers from extremely bad eczema... Her hands are at the point where they are bleeding and her skin is cracking because it's so bad. She's tried a lot of different things to try to get rid of the itch and the pain, and nothing has been working. She's just miserable. Sometimes she has to wear rubber gloves to shower or bathe so her hands don't get wet and make things worse. The worst part is, it's not just on her hands. It's on her arms and legs as well, it's just not as severe. She's been talking about wanting to try essential oils, which I love for baths. I researched a lot within the last couple days and found out which ones help the most with eczema. I put together a set of 6 that are not only supposed to help her skin, but I also picked out ones that should help with her extremely bad anxiety, one to help lift her spirits and one to help her with her stress. I ordered them yesterday and they are on their way here!! As soon as they get here, I'm going to wrap them and give them to her and as soon as she opens them, I'm planning on making some whipped coconut oil body butter with then and avocado oil which is said to be really good for eczema as well. I'm soooo excited to give them to her and I really really hope that they give her some relief!!!!! She has no idea I've ordered them :) That's my act of kindness.. I really really hope they help..
I am an English teacher [ in Mexico ] and I am asking my College students to choose an organization (water.org etc.) and help with donations or campaigns to raise awareness. I love teaching and I love makeup, so I totally get you Dany! Thanks for being yourself! We love you.
I am thinking of going to my local Senior Center and volunteering during the holidays. I love talking to older people and enjoy listening to their stories!
Hi... love that you are so honest and real...One of my good friends told me that when you declutter your home or space you make room for God...So he can bless you with more...not necessarily material things but blessings ...I don't know made sense and I've been better about keeping organized. This holiday season my brother and I will step in and prepare thanksgiving dinner for our entire family since my mom had a double mastectomy just last month. We will let her sit this one out while she recovers. Nothing more important than to have all our family together in one house after all mom has been through this year.
Rebecca Gomez That's awesome! You will be blessed!
Thank you so much. I really hope people get inspired to do something in their own communities.
You've changed so many lives by doing this. Bless you!
Thank you so much. I just cant stand the thought of little kids not having something to eat. I hope this brings awareness. I feel so blessed that I have been given the grace to follow through with this.
Saffy Taffy That makes me so happy to hear!!! I really love it!!
Hugs, Becky
Check your UA-cam messages please ;-)
CONGRATS BECKY!!!! You are my beautiful winner! Please check your UA-cam messages!
Thanks Dani, that's great!!! I'll check out my mess and get back to you. Again thank you so very much for your generosity.
Becky Rogers Hey congrats for winning!! I know I'm a little late, but still!! :D :D
Breeski thanks my daughter has really been enjoying them
I am going to be struggling this holiday season.
God Bless.
God bless you, too. I am so sorry for your loss
TooFacedBaby05 I'm sorry for your loss
So sorry for your loss, may you find peace this Christmas.
im sorry for your loss too. i just lost my gramma in july and ive never been closer to anyone in my life. i bought her house so it wouldnt get sold. i feel so close to her being in her home with all of her things. im slowly making it my own but it feels good to do things in my normal routine there like when she was alive. this will be our first thanksgiving without her and none of my family wanted to do anything.. i told them i am doing thanksgiving just like gramma always did so u r welcome to come. everyone is coming and im so nervous since now its my thanksgiving and not grammas. i will just pretend she is with me since i feel her with me anyway. i hope your holiday season isnt too hard. try to remember the good times and how much your mother loved it! decorate just like her! she would love that i bet! and im sure u would too! God bless u and your family!
You should do the same for your mom! Making yourself happy is the best thing you can do for her.. I feel you and I wish I can send you a big hug! Stay strong! :)
Don't feel ashamed for having it girl! You do a great job, but this is your money, your house and don't let your viewers put you down for that.
So sorry about your husband! You'll be in my thoughts. If you wouldn't mind, can you message me your address so I can send you a little care package?
Sorry to hear about your loss :( I hope you find time to appreciate the holidays and take care of you. 💗
Elizabeth Martinez How sweet, Elizabeth you are awesome. Love this!!
Elizabeth Martinez Thank you! You don't have to send me anything!
Becca Granda Thank you!
Wow that's amazing. Hopefully one day I can do that for my parents
That's amazing! They will love that, so sweet (:
Vanessa Zhang good point!
Vanessa Zhang kerching kerching
People are allowed to change their minds.
You are literally the QUEEN of the smokey eye, and dark eye looks
I love how little by little, every single gesture, even if it seems like nothing, can help or even make a difference!
Dani, i just want to say that you put a smile on my face every time I watch you. You are so positive and up lifting. Thank you for what you do.
This eye and lip combo is everything !!! omg
I just love you and your kindness. This winter I decluttered my closet and donated all the clothes I never wear and was just holding on to
I always love your videos, you inspired me to declutter too when I watched your first decluttering video.
Just wanted to say that I never knew the tub on the back of products was a guide on how long to keep them. I am amazed, thank you.
After watching so many decluttering videos I am now the proud owner of just one eye shadow palette and I love it!
Your blusher in the last couple videos have been exceptional. Absolutely stunning.
Through my school we collect food and do holiday boxes and deliver to local families so that they can have thanksgiving!
I always donate to animal rescues and shelters and when I have the time volunteer in them. I love animals and they bring me such joy ❤️
She has no idea I've ordered them :)
That's my act of kindness..
