Hi. Do you refurb pre 2015 front panel switches?

      @BREWBETTER  2 роки тому

      Hi,
Yes, I do, however it is depending on the issue with the switch and also your location.

@@BREWBETTER I think i you modified my steam valve a year or so ago; and also sold me a panel pressure gauge. I'm in the UK. I saw it flicker for the first time today, so likely a dry joint. Machine is mid 2000's

@@ausey00 Yes, that's most likely to be me. That should be fixable. Would you please send me an email so we can discuss the details @ peter@brew-better.com

My wand knob, when removed, does not expose a nut. Just a smooth plastic plate. Did I miss something?

Hi, The stock steam valves are crimped, preventing the owner from cleaning/maintenance. Only refurbished steam valves offering this option. I have another video about the refurb, you can also get in touch via email (address in the description) to see if I can refurb yours or sell a new modified steam valve.
      Kind regards
      Peter

@@BREWBETTER yes, thanks, I saw the link in someone else's question of the same topic. I'm off to get a nut tomorrow and put those threads on. Looks like fun. Thanks very much for doing this for us. 👍

      Hi,
This is a refurbished (modded) steam faucet. I also have a video detailing how to get here from a stock one:

I am trying to do this to my Classic Pro (bought new 2021). But mine has a huge plastic collar on the inside of the chassis, when means I can’t remove the lock nut. I have pulled the top off the machine, and it seems that the only way I can remove the plastic collar is to remove the whole boiler, which I really don’t want to have to do. Any ideas??

Ah, I found your other video. I got the piece out, but I see there is no lock nut, the part I need to clean is cased in, which I presume means I can’t clean it and need to replace the whole part.

      Hi,
Unfortunately the original part is crimped, so there is no such an option to clean it. I do refurbish these valves on an exchange basis and after that they become serviceable for prolonged lifetime, unlike the original part. As I am in Europe shipping back and forth could be uneconomical from most part of the world. That's why I am about to launch brand new genuine Gaggia steam valves with this modification done for about 56.50 USD shipped worldwide. My contact details are in the description of the video if you are interested.
      Kind regards
      Peter

Uhm... I just did this mod on a Gaggia Coffee steam wand and it works great. Why do you say this?

It is for all Classics from 1991 to nowadays (excluding the 2015-2017 EU model with stainless steel boiler)
