I have done my own little investigation and only the very poorest of us, get any kind of cash at all. Those are also the people who do not tend to live in big homes to heat, or drive a great deal. Many do not even own a car? The Carbon Tax does nothing to protect the environment with the exception of a few industries - the rest of Canadians are hurt by this tax in a time when there is no ability to absorb more taxes.

Energy security and the access to cheaper reliable energy sources is key to a prosperous economy. As Pierre said, we could be supplying other nations who are looking for their own energy security with our natural gas, but we can also maintain our own energy demands as well with it. Not only that, but this would help displace the coal burning plants from those other nations which would reduce emissions globally, and usually as demand for a resource increases, technology usually advances with it, like trying to maximize efficiency further. But this Liberal Regime doesn't actually care about economic prosperity (or the environment for that matter) and want to secure their own prosperity by taxing us to death and making sure that YOU are reliant on them forever.
China switched back to coal so they could save liquid fuel for rockets. They have no plan to do anything g about their carbon footprint other than increase it.
