I finished it and absolutely LOVED it! Although, the juxtaposition of you calling me a 'Cinnamon roll' in your note, and then the book being about the WORST group of friends ever has me wondering... haha.
Loads of lovely book suggestions! I didn't know about that Jane Austen Project with the retelling of Northanger Abbey, so I am now very tempted to put it on my Gothtober TBR :D
Awesome list :) I love Jekyll and Hyde and Wuthering Heights! I just mentioned them in my favorite classics video. I really want to read Mexican Gothic and was thinking about picking it up next month. Looking forward to more recs!
Namaste🙂Excellent recommendations!!!I have a few Indian Dark Academians and Gothic writers in my TBR which I'll be sharing within a week or so. Love your recommendations .Quite excited for Gothtober to begin👻🤓💖💖💖💖
@@LadetteM 1.Rabindranath Tagore Short Stories - has loads of elements of the supernatural too . 2. Magical Women ( Anthology) edited by Sukanya Venkatraghavan.( Some say this is Science fiction but I just read it at the beginning of this month & definitely found it quite supernatural with Gothic overtones and Grey Morality) . 3. Tantrics Of The Of The Old by Krishnarjun Bhattacharya. 4. Yama's Liuetant & Stone Witch by Anuja Chandramouli ( This is the 2nd part of a triology) . 5.Love Makes the Dead Alive by Dinesh Singh . 6. The Last Witch Trial by Siddhartha Nirwan. There are many more , but I just managed to hunt these few amongst Indian Gothic and Dark Academia for now🙂🙂🙂
@@LadetteM There are also mythological Gothic Relative fiction like Raavana who is another Edward Cullen but he's a powerful Demon King - a supernatural Being called Rakshasa . I have a few books on him too & the Rakshasaa Culture is complete Grey Morality. There are other supernatural folk tales of Rajasthan, Bengal ,Bihar etc from India which are spine chilling and true.
Classics really make you work for it and if you're not trying to analyse every word it can feel like a waste of time. Fingers crossed there's a couple to intrigue you Haha but I'll be happy if all you take away is a rec for the Hulk.
@@LadetteM I have read Jekyll and Hyde, and tried out Dracula, but to be honest, the thing I enjoyed most was The Strange Case of The Alchemist's Daughter, which is all about the daughters of Jekyll and Hyde, Frankenstein, and loads more! I loved that one, though I have no idea if it counts as gothic or not lol!
these recs are so good! i can't wait to dive in.
I’m so thrilled you’re loving The Furies! And the hardcover has red on the cover so it suits hehe 😁

I've heard really good things! Didn't feel comfortable recommending it when I don't know the author or their writing, but it looks great!

I have a history of hating classics, but you definitely don't have to tell me to read Hulk comics twice 😂
