- Unlike many of his French kinsmen, Cedric 'RpK' Guipouy has long been regarded as an altogether unemotional assailant. A silent yet slippery sentinel who’s strong in any position and able to stay calm and collected in even the tensest of circumstances. A reputation that’s led him to being dubbed “The Tank”.
So, how is it that RpK came to embody this vehicular playstyle in the first place, in what sense did his CS:GO career come dangerously close to ending before it even got started and how is it that he’s still able to stonewall zoomers despite being in his thirties?

I find RPK to be one of the most underrated player ever. His mechanics and plays are absolutely legendary.
True. He’s the only player I see who can still make sick plays as a support player and playing in shitty spots no other player wants to play. He’s also very clutch as well

@@tao123451 oh no no no. I was just pointing to the fact that you said "He's the only player" ,referring to RpK, when it's not at all true. There are many other sick support players in the scene too. That's all i'm saying xD. And Xyp9x definitely tops that list imo.

RpK is literally my favourite csgo player and i loved that video..whether he wins a major with vitality or not ,for me,he is counted to those players who deserved a major but havent gotten (s1mple,karrigan,NiKo and more)..i love his robotic aim and his calmed attitude

Happy for RpK getting some recognition. One of the most underrated CSGO pro's out there.
we should be thankful for old cs veterans, they did it while literally being paid dirt man, thats passion.
There is a 45 minutes long video of RpK (where he basically talks about his whole career) in which he said they were paid around 200-300€ a month (France minimum wage is 1200€) when LoL players were earning tons of money.
RpK might not always be the best fragger, or the most consistent fragger, but he's "good enough", while bringing the whole package.
He's always willing to be the guy who runs in first (and dies), be the anchor, the guy who saves for ak round 1, etc. He's the perfect "team player".
It's also amazing that he keeps his from up at 31 (where others usually drop off) and recovered from that sickness/medical condition he had. It's amazing to see what he's overcome.
It's also unique to see a Source player rise up.

Edit: the timing might be kind of funny, but it's worth noting that RpK was a part of team Vitality's success in 2020 :)
The results of today doesn't mean anything for an esports carreer of a man that has 31 and still beeing in to the top teams. He deserves respect

I'd happy to watch some kind of documentary video of the dominating trio of teams for 2020, Vitality, Astralis, Na'Vi. The whole year of CS was just theirs, many teams were trying to shine as bright as them, but none could pull the victory of all of them. Heroic and BIG were at the top for a moment, but they were trashed as soon as they meet one of these teams. And it was always just after starting a moment of their shine. None can compete with all of them, and it's amazing to watch.

While some people has choice words with CS: Source, I will forever miss it because it was the first online game I ever played and will keep having nostalgic memories, especially watching all the pro matches, all of the legendary fragmovies like those made by ClaYmaN aka rechyyy, enigma, slink, phoon and dare I say, LOLYOU. It was definitely fun watching VERYGAMES, probably the #1 team in the entire world at that point with an all-star roster: RPK, NBK, Ex6TenZ, Shokkk and RegnaM and watching them just steamroll everyone.
I remember the NIP win streak. I predicted one bet on CSGOLOUNGE. It was the game NIP lost their streak on. I told my 5 friends to put money on it... They didn't. I put 200€ worth of skins on that game on CSGOLOUNGE and well.. Won 39432€ on it. Best odds ever. 2nd biggest win on lounge for me was Envy vs. NIP when Allu was sin NIP.

Lol I am 40 and I got to global solo playing scout and deagle only. In faceit got to rank 6 then became a father for second time and got away from the game... age doesn't matter, probably after 50/50 we get slower in reaction time but now, I go play after months without playing and got supreme as rank and was 2nd best in my team with most kills and mvps. He is 31 but at 40 he will still be a good player

The word "Tank" has completly rubbed on French from English to the point everyone in France use it now, but the actual French translation is "Char". And with this it just occured to me that if RpK begins using a red color scheme with have a very roundabout Gundam reference.
