"I leapt through stained glass saints to fall to the garden where we first begun" That line is fucking brilliant as is the entire song and band. Hats off to you gentlemen.
"I don't understand" is more like "I cannot accept"... the trend that masterpieces, like what these guys make, get criminally less attention compared to the worthless shits done by equally worthless pop shitheads.
Guys, I figured out the band's sound! It's the best of Underoath (ambiance, singing) + TDWP (screams, ambiance) + Oh, Sleeper (guitar, screams, conceptual lyrics) + raw awesomness
88and6 He just made a bit of an observation on their influences. No need to get sassy. Fucking hate people like you man. You can clearly hear the similarity between tdwp's vocalists sound to this bands vocalist so fuck yourself.
jake love Man, that whole comment is full of hypocrisy. I wasn't being sassy. Just messing around. The original commenter liked my comment. Take a Xanax and chill out, yo. No need for such hatefulness.
Saw these guys live and my first thought was this guy sounds just like mike hranica. They are an experience live and if you ever have the opportunity to see them, take it.
Just stumbled on this video, it's crazy how they've blown up since this video was posted. Saw them live a couple months ago and they are incredible. They're gonna be around for a while.
Other bands: "We have two guitarists. We don't need a bassist." Silent Planet: "We have a bassist, and fuck it, why not - let's add a 3rd guitarist in for good measure." Respect.
This band really needs to use more of their clean vocalist. I promise you, you guys will explode if you use him some more because his voice is amazing. Good song though
I'm not saying its bad. It's fantastic music. Singer reminds me of old Underoath with the progessive sound of August burns Red. I hear some really cool stuff in there. I just don't like when bands steal ideas on music videos. It bothers me a little
David Galant If I may interject my brother. At one point I was a part of this ministry and they are still my close brothers. Garrett Russell, the frontman is one who is fully conscious of what is done in music videos. I can assure you, that ending, although it does resemble a portion of the You only live once video from suicide silence, there intention in no way was to copy there video. Mitch lucker, R.I.P who also was my friend, did not have anything to do with the idea for their video shoot, as on the contrary, everyone is Silent planet is highly involved in whatever type of creative medium is produced. A music Video in this case, dealing with a real even that took place at one point in history, and them dying at the hands of the nazis at the end has more of a message in the dramatic ending then what its seen for. I say all that just because to make a statement like you did without knowing the bands heart, intentions or even the director is kinda blindly premature wouldn't you say? I agree, when people cannot be original with conceptual ideas that will portray their band, its just makes the artist look bad. But we have to take it a step further and say that in this American culture of entertainment... nothing is original. Godbless brother. =)
Look I appreciate your feedback. I have been in this genre of music my entire life and know originality when I see it. I understand where you are coming from, but it was too obvious. People get shot in music videos all the time. But the principle of playing instruments while getting machine gunned down was coined by Mitch. I knew him as well. And trust me this "genre" is a small genre and people know bands and what they post online. Thats why I said what I said. I'm sure other people feel the same way too. I have been in this business a long time and no one likes when ideas are stolen. It is absurd to say that nothing is original. I'll give you originality right now. Parkway Drive and music videos while they are surfing. Asking Alexandria and music videos where women represent different drugs. Look I could list maybe 100 more examples of originality in the metalcore scene. Honestly when you put up a music video do you think the viewing public is going to know the backstory behind it. That is a hell no. To say may comment is premature is coming from someone who is blind to the industry. You put up a music video. Someone watches it. Then they compare it to other videos they have scene. Being original is tough, but it is possible. I recommend this band do research about the genre, then come up with ideas. Maybe they weren't intentionally trying to copy it. Look in the song by suicide silence they get gunned down closer to the end of the song. The same goes for this one. This is very black and white and there is no grey. It is too small a scene to not know when you are copying.
David Galant Once again I say in love brother... You don't know the members of Silent Planet personally. This would help in making such a black and white judgment. Bless you
Check out his interview at heartsupport, if you have a lil bit of empathy you'll understand why he doesn't wear shoes and it won't bother you anymore :)
sk8terbruhXD4653 The whole album is based on either actual historical events or generalizations of tragedies involving either specific or fictional women. A lot of the songs use the word "mother" but none of them have anything to do with Mary
"I leapt through stained glass saints to fall to the garden where we first begun"
That line is fucking brilliant as is the entire song and band. Hats off to you gentlemen.
Literally this is the type of song that skyrockets a band into success and I don't understand why we're not seeing that.
And all of their songs are like this. I can't believe their new vid only has 5,000 views or so. And this one only has 12,000.
Heard their new track, Panic Room? Fucking crazy good.
"I don't understand" is more like "I cannot accept"... the trend that masterpieces, like what these guys make, get criminally less attention compared to the worthless shits done by equally worthless pop shitheads.
They're seeing pretty good recognition now :D
Now they are selling out headliner tours.
The story behind this is pretty depressing but yet so powerful. What an epic song!
Crazy to think this was so ahead of it’s time in 2014. Still so impactful and relevant in 2021. Silent Planet are consistent and over-performing.
It's official, coolest drummer ever.
cause he is fat? go check out demon hunters drummer he is a big boy
+Joe56545 Not just that, he also kicks ass
a mix between Oh Sleeper and Underoath. LOVE IT
I thought the same thing!
Lindsey Mayoras Me too!
Silent Planet's best song imo
Their first EP 'Come Wind, Come Weather' is a masterpiece. Every song gives me goosebumps. Can't wait for this album.
I cried after watching this. Wow
saw these guys at chain reaction on 10.31.14... loved them so much!!
Same here!!!
This is one of the most incredible pieces of work I've discovered, The way they portray this women's story is one in a million. No one can top this.
Hard to believe I slept on these guys/this song for so many years. Man… what a banger
Some bands just have "it" and these guys have it.
so much emotion. so in love with this band. this song in particular is beautiful
Dude their fucking guitar blend is fucking phenomenal
Guys, I figured out the band's sound! It's the best of Underoath (ambiance, singing) + TDWP (screams, ambiance) + Oh, Sleeper (guitar, screams, conceptual lyrics) + raw awesomness
I thought they sounded like Silent Planet?
88and6 He just made a bit of an observation on their influences. No need to get sassy. Fucking hate people like you man. You can clearly hear the similarity between tdwp's vocalists sound to this bands vocalist so fuck yourself.

I’ve been listening to SP for years! Why am I just now seeing this!!
Is this the baby of Oh, Sleeper and This or the Apocalypse?
Just stumbled on this video, it's crazy how they've blown up since this video was posted. Saw them live a couple months ago and they are incredible. They're gonna be around for a while.

Other bands: "We have two guitarists. We don't need a bassist." Silent Planet: "We have a bassist, and fuck it, why not - let's add a 3rd guitarist in for good measure." Respect.

Love the song. They sound great. But, they sound just like Oh, Sleeper.
THIS BAND DOES NOT SOUND LIKE OH SLEEPER
Dat French...
amazing song, but that last part of the video was stolen from Suicide Silence. The band sounds very original :). I like it
I'm not saying its bad. It's fantastic music. Singer reminds me of old Underoath with the progessive sound of August burns Red. I hear some really cool stuff in there. I just don't like when bands steal ideas on music videos. It bothers me a little
No idea lives in a vacuum.

garrett isnt wearing shooes
poiutar He goes barefoot most the time during performances
He always is. It kinda bothers me and i don’t know why. Lol

I like the song, but I gotta say, I've seen better Nazis...
These guys catholic? 0.0
no, their christian
They include "mother" (I guess referring to Mary or something) in some of their songs on this album.
They're all different. The vocalist is agnostic
***** Definitely not. He is actually in seminary right now
sk8terbruhXD4653 The whole album is based on either actual historical events or generalizations of tragedies involving either specific or fictional women. A lot of the songs use the word "mother" but none of them have anything to do with Mary
