I believe we're all vain to some degree, but I don't believe we're all conceited. I wonder if the use of conceited here is actually to be understood as vain. While I intend to work on this, I hope somebody will please post some viewpoints I can consider

Thats just ego. Its human grit. We need its strengrh to survive. Never goes away. Can be tamed, tampered down. Can easily be ignored. Overcome.
