I needed this video because I just bought the F-5. I need the instruction. It's a big help guy, props for doing it.
Pleasure
Also of note is that the F5 has two different "new contact" beeps: if it's lower pitched it indicates a new ground based contact, if it's higher pitched it indicates a new air based contact.
thxx
I wanted to see the explosion at the end :p
Great tutorials man, you gave me hope to try DCS again and now I actually can do cold start, taxi, take off, still practicing my landing.
It’s crazy to me that some modules straight up just do not have tutorials for certain systems, the rwr for the f5 a great example, thanks for the vid 👍
Love this fighter. $2.1million per copy: an F-22 is $350 million. Its only real drawback is its short operational range.
lol i’m imagining like 166 f-5e tigers against a single f-22, clearly the f-5e is a better fighter
@@Riotdrone For the money? Yup.
@@Riotdrone The training and operating costs of those 166 pilots may start to add up a little bit over that single F-22 pilot, though. Plus aircraft maintenance and associated logistical costs. I wonder what the break-even point would be when comparing the two.
this is one of the best guide in very details, thanks
A good question. if I am launched an active missile (amraam, phoenix, R77) how is it reflected in my RWR of my F-5? with a letter M? Because since the missile has its own radar, I don't see the enemy plane. Many greetings from Chile. Excellent page.
I can't imagine what would i do without Grim Reapers.
Thanks
Did he say that the maximum number of contacts the RWR can handle is 60 or 16?
Nicklaus Reyer one six
Can you make videos of the rwr sounds for each of the vehicles you do? Also bc I can't find rwr sounds for the f5e
I know there's no exact number for this since signal strengths will vary, but what's an approximate max range of the RWR for the average fighter aircraft? Just so I can have a very rough estimate for range when they pop up on the edge. Also, would it detect launches for a Fox 2 even though it's IR? Or would it only detect a Fox 1/3?
I know this is a very late response but RWR only covers radar guided missiles, HOWEVER there are systems that detect IR but those are relatively new compared to the F5. (The apache and blackshark have IR launch detectors in DCS I believe)
About distance how can i know the close missile or the danger one
The RWR won't give you any idea of distance for missiles or tracking radars, you'll have to go heads up and visually spot threats, using the RWR to point your eyes in the right direction. It can only interpret strength of the signal, which is used to determine if you're being tracked/locked
Hello AS, query, how an AMRAAM missile is reflected in an F-5 RWR, ??? Greetings from Chile.
Quit shaking the picture around when you talk, bub!
Imagine flying an F-5E tiger II...
