I went from 80-90fps at Fuji in the rain to 130-135fps in the rain !! Thank you my dude!
Wow, literal game changer! Followed the control panel changes and most of the graphic settings and I'm hitting up to 200fps uncapped (I run it capped at 120fps either way but could never hit those numbers before) on my 4070 Ti. Quality content as always - thanks Jack!

The part about racelabs is wrong!
You need the one on the left to be set to 63. This will only affect your network so make sure your network can handle it.
The one on the right is only for the rendering, and racelabs does *not* require you to have that turned to the max. It can be set to anything you like

Thank you. As I thought, your video helped me consider some tweaks that I hadn’t thought of. My settings now are not exactly like yours, but my frame rates are even better now in dry & wet conditions. 👍 It’s hard to make a video like this because everyone’s PCs are so different from yours. The video helped, though.

Maximum performance mode can be turned on, it helps the gpu perform at it's maximum clock speed, atleast on the 30 series cards, the clock speeds can fluctuate or not go above idle speeds which will impact performance, it can make the fan curve wonky too.
Also make these changes to the program individually and not globally.
I get better performance with FPS capped. I have a 4080 with a 5800x3D and run everything on max settings with FPS locked to 118 fps. Screen does 120fps with Gsync. Depending on what is track I am on and the type of event, GPU sits at 60-80 load most of the time. And when it needs the extra grunt, the headroom is there. FPS will stay rock solid with no stutters or anything. If nothing else it should be tested on every rig to see what works best.
This is a great guide, my iracing looked like crap until I followed this guide. For reference I have an AMD 5600X, 32GB with an RTX 3070 with triple 32" 1440p and I'm getting smooth 60-70 fps with decent looking graphics. Thank you!

I only wanted to mention that you shouldn't reduce Max Cars, if you are using third party tools for the relative, because they wouldn't function correctly.
The other options besides Max Cars, "draw shown cars or pits" doesn't have negative effects to third party tools. this only meens, they are not drawn, but they were calculated, because of the value 63 in Max Cars.

I’d like to offer a suggestion for rain reflections. For me I run it turned off and it gives me almost double the frame rate as I would having it set to low or high. But people seem to think you can’t see any water reflections on the track of you use the static cube maps instead of screen space reflections, but this is incorrect. You actually CAN see reflections, they just look different. Give it a try and see what you think, but I say this is the biggest area where people are losing frame rate in wet weather conditions.

One thing you missed when it came to the Nvidia control panel was to set those settings in program settings, not global. Lots of people will be confused to the performance and look of other games now. For older cards like mine Nvidia control panel settings make a big difference, some of us wont pay the silly prices Nvidia charge and still run all games with a beast of a card called a 1080ti. 😋 I am yet to try the rest of the settings in iracing, shall see how it works, as it is okay taking these settings, but i have an old card.

The only option I see related to iracing under pgroams is iracingui.exe. Will this apply to iracing, or just the UI?
for my 3070ti, i gain ultra minimal quality and lost 60 fps from my own tuning! but still a great video for ppl with heavy video card!

Glad you like them. I've been waiting a long time for them to arrive so itching to try them out & i've got the shifter already so I think I have a grip on the software. Can I ask what elastomer/spring stack youre running?

I use, Bluespring wound very tightly so there's only 2cm of travel, then a Yellow and red elastomer... I did many tests and this is the hardest I can do while still being fast, fun and not going to tear my achillies heel 😂

How does the Nvidia Control Panel works ? Does it apply settings before the game settings ? After ? At the same time ?
Ye share I'd also a setting to have it just like this for the application iRacing so it doesn't effect your other games.
Great guide, very practical approach, one thing I would say from personal experience is NOT limiting your frame rate or FPS is a GPU killer, it is best to set a target limit to 1FPS above your upper target or limit, so for a 144HZ screen set FPS Limit to 145, so the GPU works just hard enough to get to that limit, if you don’t set a limit, even on a 144HZ screen iRacing will drive the hardware as hard as it will take to get to 400FPS or more and use up all the resources the card has to offer, effectively swamping your GPU, yes it may cope and survive but you will see utilisation at 95-100%, set your limit to 1FPS above your screen’s limits and I see my GPU utilisation come back to 40-60% depending on track, car count and weather settings, I’ve tested he hell out of this one component and proven it over and over.
@wayneshephard Have Samsung 57” ultrawide 240Hz. Can reach 80-200 fps in iRacing. What should I do ? Cap FPS, not cap,…. ???
@@FG_356 I'd definitely be capping to your best average fps, maybe 120-144, give it a go and watch your gpu utilisation before and after

@bmwM3M5M6 I just use the frame limit in the actual game I'm controlling, I've run screens in some and vr in others so I just use the software's own limit
Only problem with this is that I'm pretty sure that with any limit, v-sync included, you're going to be introducing input delay. Not sure how significant but I personally don't run any limit for my 4070 TI Super, but I have triple monitors and have the graphics set to where I get about 60-80 fps, depending on if there's rain or it's night time, and for some reason when I look at the performance in the task manager the GPU is only running at about 80%. The monitors all can only go to 75 hz anyways so where I'm at is fine. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure any limiting of the frames increases input lag.
you dont need low latency on cause you have reflex enabled , actually you have to enable it it does wonders for low latency in competitive reflex is a must

For me the Nvidia Settings are the same. But what makes a big different, is to set „Reflex“ to enabled and „MSAA Samples“ to 4x. That was a performance boost for me!

Ended up watching this since I have a strange issue. I’m not sure if anyone else experienced something like this. With very powerful PC and RTX4080, my iRacing started behaving very strange since April this year. Randomly I have kind a FPS issues, but not in the presented rate, but just randomly the background lags as I’m turning the car. Car itself has top performance in gems of the FPS and graphics, but track and background is making issues. It’s very random from session to session, I have low ping, super fast internet, all connected via LAN, all drivers up to date. Basically I use this PC only for iRacing.

Not at all. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that your advice is wrong. It's just different to what I watched recently. Yes i did like and subscribe and I usually don't. I'm just a guy with a pc that's not quite up to the task of my 49inch ultrawide. I only do iracing and it's a constant problem. I'd dearly love the opportunity to talk to someone who knows such as yourself
@johndog2010 if you dm me a screen shot of your settings on instagram/my discord (link on my channel) I'll take a look and see if there's any gains to make. I will say if you have a PC thst struggles, do close browsers, any apps you don't need don't have open, if you use an overlay use iOverlay (It's free and doesn't use much performance)...
But send me a screen shot and I'll see if there's any changes you can make. (Upload on imgur or just drag and drop in my discord)

There is no sun during rain, so there are no dynamic shadows, the "dynamic obj" setting cannot affect performance during rain
Do you know if using GSync on monitor technology is better than having fixed frames?
3:24 Every gamer falls for that , you are not doing anything by setting it to performance there cause you are changing the settings individually for the game and it automatically switches to the middle option and the option you changed is grayed out as in the video
Not sure if it helps or not with fps but even if you have Resizable BAR (ReBar) enabled in you bios you still have to enable it in nvidia profile inspector app.
On a 4070 super in vr with a 13700KF and it didn't gain performance for me.. i think i was already pulling out the most and now it has decreased my fps from 90 in the rain to 30 😂😂 can happen, saved my graphics config file before this ahhaha thanks anyway for this :))
ur first tip only helps if you select that config method
Have 240Hz monitor, but fps in-game ranges from 80-120 rain to 150-230 dry. Track dependant etc…

I get stutters/microstutters especially in corners even with high fps like 140-160 fps… I’m clueless

Nice vid but the biggest "heavy hitter" by far is SSR. Even on low always will use extra 20-30% GPU. Much more than the heavy hitters you waffle on about.

It’s more like supplemental at the moment. Uninstalled because didn’t find it useful yet. When all the settings are carried over will use it.

I use a configuration similar to this (shader medium detail) and it works quite well in fps, the problem is that the weekend I ran a race with the gt3 in bathurst that was raining during the whole session and during the race I had four crashes something that had never happened to me before, does this configuration have something to do? has it happened to anyone else to have so many crashes in races with rain?
No I believe it’s not just you? I also had a crash to desktop in rain at Bathurst also. And I have been reading a lot of other people in rain races have experienced the same.
I get a 5-10 fps boost with SPS off. I see a lot of people claiming the opposite. I have a 13900K, 4090, 32GB Ram. Do you get the same results?
You seem to have a beefier setup than me, and to be honest I'm fine for FPS, to the point where I don't *really* have to turn anything down.
@@JACKZERYT Turning SPS OFF actually IMPROVES visual quality, so it's a WIN-WIN if it also boosts your frame rate. By the way, this setting is for Virtual Reality, and I'm also getting better frame rates with it disabled.

Great video but you need to qualify these as 1080P only settings, running 4090 / 1490K and it halved my frame rate, looks awesome but a huge downgrade... a few fixes by tweaking works but a small warning wouldn't hurt

Yet another video telling me to have power management on normal. I get at least 1 bad stutter per lap until I put it back to max performance. Unless something has changed since this is bad advice

Im not sure maybe the game favours amd i play on a 6700xt and 5800x games set to highest settings and i always stay around 130 to 140 fps
How many monitors, what size and what resolution?
@@billwiley7216 3 monitors 2 are 1080p and the main one is 2560x1400
@@bumbarossdundahae6312 Thats the reason you are getting high frame rates is the low resolution 1080p monitors. Takes a lot less GPU power to run 1080p than it does 4k monitors or even 3 1440p!

I went from 120fps to 80fps and not much eye candy gain. :/ Benchmark Odysseys has way better setups

What did you have trouble with?, did you turn off all of the heavy usage things I outlined? And restarted your iRacing?
This guide is to help you understand what switches to turn off. But if it's too complicated, you can always just turn everything to low. Might be the safest bet for ya, then in time try to turn on the things thst make the sim look better, but aren't as taxing on performance. Maybe then check back on this vid, and you may understand more.
