Great video as always, Dan! Thanks to your tips I changed my graphic settings and my iR went from 523 to 581 in less than a week because I finally clearly see the other cars I'm about to crash into
I followed this step by step the entire way through, and I'm absolutely blown away with the night and day difference. It looks, at least for my set up, like iRacing is using a completely different graphics engine. Very thankful and much appreciated, sir.
Dan thanks so much. I see you have moved back from the monitors a little. I wear glasses and with my prescription It was very hard to get that close. Please keep the videos coming and congratulations on becoming a father!
I know in iRacing’s latest developers video on UA-cam they mentioned they have a team working on the next generation or updated iRacing graphics engine. I wonder how much that’ll improve things, unless it’s just tweaks here and there.
New dx12 engine, they succès to import tracks and few others things but non shader ATM, but it's going thé right way I think, can't wait next years of iRacing updates
This is such a great video, Dan, and super useful. I'm going to try out ReShade tonight. Quick question: As I've been experimenting with this, are you running GSYNC only and no VSYNC? I also noticed you didn't have a cap on frames in iRacing. I'm just curious what you've settled on now and is working best for you.
Quick tip, on 1:12 nVidia panel, if you play other games that requiere other graphics settings, you can click on "Program Settings" instead of "Global Settings" to make it behave like that only for iRacing
I just copied you as I went along, using a 57” Samsung 1000R (VA Panel) at 7680x2160 and it looks great! I can never get this monitor setup properly, I run at 120Hz and cap at 121Hz in iRacing - my entire graphics settings are as yours. Minus the 3 screens. But I’m getting flickering shadows and general aliasing (slight) plus distance pop ups. Do you think I should drop iRacing down to 5120x1440 and configure a single curved screen at 1000R + real measurements of the display and view distance? What do you think? Thanks man - love your channel and Discord ❤
Hey Dan, erstmal vielen Dank für deinen geilen Content🫶🏼! Könntest du mir sagen welches Setup ich von dir auf der Simucube nutzen soll? Ich will 360Hz nutzen
Hi Dan. How is 390-400 fps possible at these settings? I have 4090 and 13900KS. I made the same settings as you. I see 130 fps with reshade turned on in the cockpit. When I turn off reshade I see 145 fps. I have a 3 screen 1440p setup. Are you using Nvidia surround?
I also have a stuttering problem. Even though I tried many things, I couldn't solve the problem. A solution is being sought in the forum and in many videos, but it has not been fixed yet.
@DanSuzuki I can copy these settings and they will work ok with triples and a Ryzen 7 7700X/4080 Super? Asking because during the Indy 6 hour over the weekend my fps was sometimes dipping into the 40's.
Dan, if you install reshade for iracing for use with a monitor and then you run in VR, does having reshade installed have a negative impact on the VR session?
@@LEmir_de_Passy yeah, and for me this will be not enough - since i race LMU it is hard to go „back“ to iRacing - looks like iRacing has only 4 different colors 😅
Drops from 390 FPS to 380 FPS and it’s called a performance loss 😲 I cry for 100 FPS on SPA & newer tracks ! 380 FPS is dream for me sadly even when I have a 240Hz monitor I totally can’t reach it, especially in race
Tried these settings and my rain fps is still struggling. I tried ssr low - rain only and my fps is in the 40-60 range in the wet. I have a rtx4070. Any ideas on what to change for rain to get better fps? No rain fps is good
Setting anisotropic filtering to 16x in the Nvidia control panel is redundant. You already had it set to 16x in iRacing’s settings. One isn’t better than the other. It’s the same thing.
NONE of this should have to be done to have a good experience in iRacing. I always feel like I am playing COD from 20 years ago installing map packs, using text editors, doing all this deep dive stuff which was fun, but I am now old and don't care to spend so much time messing around with all this stuff. That is the most irritating thing with iRacing, for a noob like me it is such a pain in the ass to get everything setup - tons of videos, etc just to start playing the game. I hate iRacing and hope AC Evo is an actual modern game with interface, etc. iRacing is such a faff.
@atticushexcel9567 that’s a you issue I’m 44 and don’t think anything in IRacing is hard at all also changing the graphics engine isn’t easy and takes years to do and remember IRacing is still going strong for a reason and graphics are not the reason why I mean ACC looks good but feel like dog shite

I had a terrible issue with guardrails and other objects shimmering and reshade cured that. A massive graphics improvement with a minor fps hit.
this is the first time that I read "best graphics settings... " and they really are the best, thank Dan!

Very nice settings where iRacing looks beautiful now :) Thanks Dan great job :D
With a nonchalant tone: "....and then I have the fake HDR enabled here" 😂
Great video! Thanks for these settings! 👍
You should try reflex to enabled only, enabled + boost gives lower fps, test it for yourself

I may give reshade a try in Iracing, I currently just use the Iracing internal gamma/brightness/contrast to good results with zero overhead.
Great for monitors. Is there a VR solution for reshade?

I do run G-Sync and cap at 3fps below the monitor refreshrate (disabled for benchmarking purposes in the video).
Great video Dan
Can't believe I didn't think of reshade for iRacing. I'm such a numpty.

Great video. Looking at triples now and I saw in your settings is say 3 flat monitors. Do you prefer flat monitors over curve monitors?
Yes, but even with curves you wanna use the flat option otherwise the fov will be wrong unless you follow the curve with your triples (don’t)
Awesome thank you .

Ich benutz das ganz normale ... die 360hz version ist nicht mehr relevant weil ich keinen Grund sehe kein 360hz FFB zu nutzen :D
They’re working on a new graphics engine. That’s the good news. The bad news is it’ll probably take them 2 or 3 years 😭

well, that was with the window minimized to a single screen to be able to show the reshade settings (as mentioned in the video :P)

@DanSuzuki I can copy these settings and they will work ok with triples and a Ryzen 7 7700X/4080 Super? Asking because during the Indy 6 hour over the weekend my fps was sometimes dipping into the 40's.
these settings are not optimized for best performance ... it's a good compromise on visuals/performance though.
why do you have Frame Rate set to "No Limit" in the graphics tab in iRacing? I was told that should check on.

Do you have hdr in windows on for this because fake hdr in game makes it look way too bright loads of blooming in the sky
same for me fakehdr looks terrible on my computer
@kingston178 take hdr off in reshade makes it better for me atleast

How does reshade impact performance?
iRacing looks and sounds 10 years old, for the thousands of dollars they charge it should be significantly better.
