I so agree with you about the excessive branding. All of the big logos are terrible. I too love the Chanels but unfortunately they're way out of my range. To be honest I prefer a high-quality hand-made genuine leather bag to most if the current designer bags.
Honestly Trinny is the best out there...I think we would all love more content like this...her knowledge and expertise trump all other "fashion" experts...please more of this Trinny and for that matter ANYTHING you want to give your opinion on !

My “Lotto” bag is the Lady Dior.
We need more luxury designer shop ups Trinny, as a guy, i take the inspiration from your videos when in Selfridges, HarveyNics etc, as i look at shopping now as buying a quality, more expensive designer classic item that will last a life time, rather than something from the high street that might not last as long and I could possibly get bored of, a neutral colour base works for everything, and great quality materials.
This is the new view - quiet luxury - minimal, if any, discernible logos.
I’m not going to lie .. I love a logo bag ..even Chanel has a logo .. I also love a designer bag that if you know you know .. I have a few bags that I bought before the HUGE price increases..they are on rotation depending on my destination..I say to each their own ..love Trinny ❤❤❤

Everything u said resonated with me-don’t look at bags if EVERYONE has it,can’t bear the logos tht say(as u said) I have arrived!!When everyone was buying Gucci n Prada I bought Mulberry back in the day.
£6000 pounds for a bag is utterly grotesque to me. I have bags that I've had for years that are a bit shabby but I love them because they have personality.

I totally agree about the name brand stamped all over the front of anything, garments, bags, jewelry. I remember back in the late 80’s/early 90’s when my daughters were teenagers and only wanted stuff with brand names….we had some arguments back then. And still I can’t stand it. But they still love name brands and stamped on stuff. Not everything but a lot of things.

This is a timely video for me- took the plunge in March to purchase a small Lady Dior bag in Paris. Scary for me and yes I worked hard to pay for it. With VAT and the exchange it was $1,330 US cheaper than if I purchased it in Atlanta. Still a great deal of money for me but I do love the bag and feel fortunate to have it at age 59 🙂

I've never really been into designer bags but my husband has always wanted to buy one for me. He's asked me so many times, what bag would I buy if I could? I wasn't really bothered to be honest until we visited Zurich recently with friends who took us to the Dior shop and OMG I literally had a 'moment' in there! I won't go into details but I felt my late MIL's presence (she adored shopping and died last August) when I spotted the Dior bag with the star on it. It's so beautiful (it's also €4500!!) but I really felt like I will own that bag one day. My husband agreed...one day lol!

My 2 channels are at least 20 years old, ditto with most of my Louis Vuitton and my Hermes is 22 years old and worth far more than when I bought it. I don’t really buy bags that are fashion bags. They are such an investment they really have to last a lifetime…. but pound for wear they are certainly not expensive.
My first designer bag was a pristine second hand Mulberry Roxy in Oak. Such a versatile and wardrobe staple now.
It is not about the brand it’s about the style
My style is the courage of my own choices .I have eclectic taste I love modern mixed with glamour and old charm .I love good taste. It doesn’t mean I don’t have from time to time a splash of bad taste ,.I found a bad taste healthy as it’s pushing me always to improve ,however “NO TASTE is what I’m against and I have the courage to say NO!!.
This is why I never go out of fashion and style my fashion and style is my way of looking different…I’ve never liked looking the “same “as everybody else .

I'm not a big bag fan.. more of a coat person myself it's an incurable habit that I never want to get help for 😄 but you know I love a Dune handbag. I just think they make the loveliest bags and shoes. I think even if I won the lottery I'd still treat myself to l Dune handbag. I bought a lovely tan camera style shoulder bag from there a few years ago and it's my favourite bag ever. Everyone always asks me where I got it from. It has a DL logo on the front I suppose it's a bit of a gucci dupe but I love it!! Actually, M&S had some lovely raffia bags in the other day. I've just been on the selfridges website and the new Loewe one was quite nice but for 3,000 you could buy so many things not just one item?
That first floral CD bag looks like a bag from a fruit and vegetable store. Would roll laughing if someone said it cost 2 700. 😮
I was shocked I thought maybe 600 quid. Not 2,700. Blimey. It does look like a shopper.
Have you looked at Kate Spade. I love those bags. They have a bit of whimsy to them without a huge logo and they aren't enormously expensive.

Thanks Trinny!! The vintage market has allowed so much fun to be had. You can literally "flip" your handbag for the same price as your investment -if you shop carefully. I am gobbling up all my favorite Prada from Y2K. At a third of retail. Side note: Prada/Gucci will refurbish boo boos on the purses. Call any store and they will tell you where to ship it. I have a latch on a zipper that I am getting fixed. @ Prada. Gucci has replaced cane handles for me before. Keeps your investment intact.

Great vid with common sense advice! I’m a vintage bag collector…. Super excited over a Gucci shoulder bag I recently hunted down with minimal logo…. Just the Gucci name subtlety on the clasp. I think it’s pre Tom Ford era but I’m still researching to more accurately date it. It’s just a simple classic bag that unless you know you don’t know what it is.

I love designer bags, and living in a small town like I do even the Dior Book Tote is still a 🦄…
But like Trinny I had bought 2 bags from Vestiaire one was an Hermes and the other Gucci - both fakes. I was crushed. Was certain one could trust Vestiaire having things authenticated but maybe fakes have gotten so good, even the authenticators can no longer tell right from wrong.
I’m so done with VC! Recently purchased a fake LV pochette that I paid to get authenticated. They were most unhelpful and basically didn’t want to know. I had been a consistent customer for the last 3 years but I will never buy from them again. They have too many “alleged” authenticators that actually haven’t a clue. AVOID🫤
Apparently the fake products have become so good that it's becoming more and more difficult to tell them apart from the real deal. I know that Cartier has stopped authenticating the Love collecting bracelet because of it.

@@latteslettersandlifeI will say, super fakes are expensive. They are not $20 bags. They're more like $500+ for a fake of a Chanel bag. I even saw a $2000 super fake for the birkin. I thought, at that price point, I would just get a good quality bag elsewhere.
I recently bought celine sunglasses at vinted. I checked all the little details. At first look they looked real but when i looked into the little details they seemed fake so i teturned them immediately. Couldn't you return the bag via Vestiaire? So sad.
