I love the minimalistic approach tsken in this song Here i was expecting something wildly complex but its done with such a gentle and calculated method Just amazing
It’s so hilarious how simple the chorus sounds but it’s basically two guitar parts, and the way they both come together for a second for that (b?) chord is just ungodly. That’s true composition there, and a reminder that a song doesn’t have to be widdly diddly to be incredible.
I hate that Javier is so rarely mentioned when others discuss AAL.Weightless did, admittedly have a small Javier representation, but The Joy of Motion helped him shine (and helped people find Mestis.) From what I've heard from The Madness of Many, I can only hope that Javier receives as much recognition as he deserves. (Tosin, Javier, and Matt are all a part of AAL and all make it as special as JOM was.)
@@metalhead4282 No he's right. How many mentions of Tosin do you hear on guitar forums and Facebook pages. Now how often do you hear about Javier? Of coure a lot of it is due to the fact that Tosin is a true innovator when it comes to develloping new techniques but we should not forget how good Javier is at Rythmic stuff. I love his solo stuff as much as I like AAL stuff.
Beautiful song Javier! Purchased your album right away after hearing a couple of tracks. You deserve so much more attention and I hope that if it hasn't come yet, that it will very soon!
Javier, how is your guitar wired? Pickup switching etc? It is one of the things ive tried to findout and have come up blank. I just love the different sounds you get out of your guitar.
He's got the prototype model, which he's playing as well as the production model. The prototype has a push/pull coil split instead of the switch. He also has the JR-208.
Watching this song made it even cooler than it already was! That muted rest-stoke-sweep thing on the verse is sick!
I like a lot of songs. I love fewer. I adore this. It resonates wholly

Just amazing
rip harambe, the gentle giant
I love how you can just tell no over-thinking went into the process and it came out beyond headbang worthy.

Dude, I loved that palm-muted sweep part, for real. That was really cool. 🤘
That tone is amazing!

this is just your own perception, no one underates javier

@@metalhead4282 Yes, that's what people do in the comments section. They share their perception.
Just bought one of his signature Guitars, can't wait to jam on it!
Brilliant, I love every aspect of this song.
The chord progression is pretty simple....i thought this was gonna be complicated. I love Javier's approach to 8 strings.
just got home from seeing AAL live in Osaka. Without a doubt Javier was the best thing about tonight.
What amazes me about this is the efficiency of motion.
I just made up the gentle giant dance. I spastically jolt around the room bobbing my head and flailing my arms to the beat.
Beautiful song Javier! Purchased your album right away after hearing a couple of tracks. You deserve so much more attention and I hope that if it hasn't come yet, that it will very soon!
that growl on the low strings are just beastly
Beautiful stuff Javier! Love it!
woah! i love this, and you play it so effortlessly!
Sick tone!
I just love this.
Very cool
Wonderful it becomes very addicting to listen too.
awesome video! this is one of my favorites off the album
Javier, thank you for this brotha. Very inspirational to me. Keep it up dude
I finally got a 8 string guitar and am trying to learn this song!
Awesome stuff!
The music was wonderful but the whole time all I could think of was what string gauge you're using! XD
plz make album only using your ortega and pretty much nothin else :S
Yeeeah, Full acoustic Javier playing djent, AMAZING

Or better, djentle giant. è_e
+Mik it just never gets old, does it?
+I predict a catastrophe nevah
+Mik djentle djant
how the hell do you make the lower strings not jumble in to a muddy mess when playing the opening riff.
So now that AAL has a new album and your touring appears to be winding down...more Mestis + a small Mestis tour?
Holy shit!
please do a playthrough of Menos Mal!
Djentle Djiant!
Jesus Christ, track starts with GENTLE GIANT zeros lol. Btw, fascinating as usual. Hope someday see you in Russia again!
How many JR608s do you own, Mr. Reyes?
This dude is freakin sick. I know now where AAL gets the deep background rythyms
fucking awesome
He has two of those monsters?
you mean his hands? :D
He's got the prototype model, which he's playing as well as the production model. The prototype has a push/pull coil split instead of the switch. He also has the JR-208.
I have one :D $750 used fuckin steal man
Around 0:30 the riff sounds like whole lotta love by Zeppelin :D
genius
1:12 melody I a just getting kinda lost in the mix. I cant hear what he is playing
+Ryan Quick Get a better sound system.
+JakePriest could be it
I can hear it really easily. No idea what the problem could be on your end apart from bad speakers.
any one knows the tuning here? also ..Djenlte Djiant
+Franco Buzzetti Standard with the lowest 8 tuned to "E" I suppose.
This is so fucking interesting. I love it.
nastiest riff ever
i see perfect
those riffs though.
the music is outstansing, the mixing not so much (why is the bass drum so loud?)

T O N E
His picking is just so clean 😑
