They really did dumb down his character and I hated it. Also, in the beginning he liked that Rory was smart but over time he seemed to resent it.
@@FlowerChild65 he really was, wasn’t he? He didn’t get all their pop culture references, but he was smart enough to keep up with Rory and Lorelei. I think they dumbed him down to make Jess look like a better match for Rory.
