Hey boss! Loved the video. Wasn't all into the VST till you threw it on an 808. 🤯 I gotta have it now.
Side note... if youre having trouble with your subs and 808s clipping with the glue compressor, I recommend trying this:
1) create an fx layer on your 808/sub.
2) add two layers
3) first layer will be dry (reference)
4) add a saturator to the second layer
5) solo second layer and adjust saturator to make the 808/sub a little thicker.
6) adjust the faders of each layer to a good mix between the two (keep the overall db low)
7) outside of the fx layers chain, add the glue compressor
8) adjust compressor to desired level
9) mix in your 808/sub track to your session at desired level in mix.
This should help get rid of all that clipping with the glue compressor! Works amazing for me!

If you press the "soft" button in the glue compressor, it'll soft clip the output signal, so you won't clip the track's output.
Great vid!! I just found this and am new to producing/mixing. Is this better suited on individual drum tracks or a summed drum bus??

Not gonna blame anyone who is not knowing this, but "make up gain" is simply like raising the fader on the mixer - if you raised it too much, you gonna clip the daw. that simple. Make up gain have no specific sound and the only function is to gain stage after you compress. so you compress the signal with "The Glue", than it gets quieter due to compressing the peaks, and than after you raise the volume back with the make up gain (btw that's also why it is called MAKE UP gain).
Cymatics's plugin is purposely hard or soft clipping the signal and raises the volume back automatically. the result is the same peak level but a higher perceived level/loudness. for all the nerds out there, the plugin is computing in a higher sample resolution, so that is why we can push it more into the red and it doesn't sound that bad as pushing the daw. but that's another topic ^^
thats sounds good and all but at the end of the day i dont care how they make a good car... does it look nice does it drive fast! thats all i care about..

@@SweetScaleTV the reason glue compressor is clipping is because you don’t have the soft clipping option on while with the Diablo plugin literally the clip knob already clips the audio to either hard or soft clip
Talking about saturatiin like a "compressor", sadly it changes the low freqs a lot.
And it is obvious.
It bring up harmonics and the low freq ends lower and lower accordimg to how hard you crunch it...

Glue compressor is not for that. Its for "glueing" elements together on a bus.
