I like to think that it’s every divers responsibility to pick up any plastics and other rubbish that may pollute the sea this is why I always take some kind of mesh bag.

I picked up a coke can on my first dive, and got told off by the instructor because there was a tiny bit of coral growing on it.

@@OceanPancake . Yes. I used it on all my dives expect I went to the georgia Aquariuam. It is a great dive computer.

you have even matching T-shirt. there are very nice shots from under the water. Fish ID slated are indeed the basic, to find out what can be seen while diving.

So you don’t hurt you hand when diving in drifts I suggest a reef hook or a pointer stick as some places do not allow gloves which are cheap and easy to use, also an DSMB for essential when diving open water. You can also make a noise maker with bungee cord and a stainless steel nut or washer put around your cylinder and snap it for attention.

There are many brands which are cheaper, and they have their benefits. As a diving instructor having Scubapro, a brand that I have always experienced excellent customer service with is truly worth it. They replace any broken equipment and have service kits which allow your regulators and bcds to be serviced for over 20 years. Many other dive companies stop making service kits for particular items meaning regulators become decommissioned.

Why after you get your wetsuit should you get accessories? What about the regs, mask, fins, computer etc before the suit?
Had the same thoughts. I am going to assume she believes everyone already had an SMB/reel combo, surface signaling device, compass, cutting device, etc. You know, the basics.
Your mask and fins should be your first purchases (and a snorkel I guess).
Your second should be a computer.
Your third should be a wetsuit (and other exposure protection).
Regs, a BCD (and yes a computer) are expensive purchases, and they're always offered as rentals. I'd say your own regs and BCD are a bit of a luxury item. You're probably better off putting that money towards dives in the beginning. Then when you're more educated in the different features and possibilities, you can make a better choice in what to get.
I tend to research everything to death before I get anything, and what I'm getting is usually overkill for what I'm going to be using it for. But I can rest assured that my gear will grow with me as I get more experienced and move into different disciplines.

I've been thinking about getting scuba dive certified. I don't know if I will be able to or not, I have a heart murmur. My cardiologist says no strenuous activity.

Best advice don't buy split fins
One thing i nothices is that u say u have to be more than advanced to do night diving mich isn't really Tru u just have to be ready to do night dives
On a lot of boats or dive shops, they require advanced certification to take you night diving. This is not always the case.
@@OceanPancake You usually do a night dive in your AOW, but you could forgo the AOW and go straight to specialties after you OW. Problem is that doing a night dive specialty and a deep dive specialty will cost twice as much as an AOW course. That's why AOW is required for dives below 18m or night dives, unless you've completed those specific specialties.
