Of course it is OP most things have returned for example: both Tommy & Claude drowning as soon as falling into water, because it is remastered not a remake. But strange thing is some of the trophies from the OG Trilogy have Been replaced with missable trophies and a few new miscellaneous, and other trophies have stayed in the definitive edition
They just don't make them like the 3D Era anymore. That era will always be the best. Sucks they didn't make San Andreas Stories, though. Package hunting would've been really awesome.
Boss Dalton I guess the reason why GTA San Andreas Stories never been made is either because Rockstar Games stop the agreement with Sony for making their games exclusives for Playstation consoles or maybe the PSP couldn't handle the huge map from GTA San Andreas or Rockstar Games developers got lost interest for 3D universe and decided to focus on HD universe of GTA series. EDIT:Also theres a 20 mins video from Rockstar present what happen in SA before CJ returns back to his hometown.
Boss Dalton should have done it and I actually disagree with San Andreas stories everything is self explained in the intro movie but it should be done with Brian Johnson
Going for 100% on ps4. Used a picture guide earlier which took 5 hours (seems to be the same guide used to make this video) 98 of 100 because I had found 12 dueing casual playthrough of missions. Now I'm rechecking EVERY location using this guide (and vita remote play) and did find one I missed. Hoping to find the last. Ugh. So much time and effort. This is very helpful. Thank you.
Good walkthrough/information. Though there is one misleading information I would just like to correct. After collecting 100 packages, the Hunter is delivered at the Fort Baxter if you haven't completed all storyline missions, or what the video said, delivered at Ocean Beach if all the storyline missions are completed. Both Hunters will spawn in those two locations, it's just a matter of whether you found all hidden packages before or after the storyline mission.

I played this game to death. I think my time count was around 250 hours. 10+ days of my life spent playing Vice City and worth it. During a vigilante mission with a tank I found a glitch while on the runways at the airports where the targets kept spawning on the runway. I made about $20 million in a half hour. Sweet!
I usually do 25 in one go, take a little break, do the other 25 and so on. This is actually a breeze compared to the 100 taxi fares, where you get no substantial reward other than jumping.
I'm just missing two packages but I can't find them damn it. Update from April 14th, 2020: I found them a long time ago. Just finished all of the rampages and stunts today. I’m on the road to 100% again.
[Warning: wall of text ahead, if you don't wanna read then skip this comment] _"Some hidden packages can be collected only after completing specific storyline missions"_ - nope, that's not true at all. You can collect all of the packages without doing a single mission*. And I tested this a few years ago, when I installed and replayed VC on my new computer. (*...okay, granted: doing the first one, i.e. obtaining the Ocean Beach safehouse is recommended, so that you have a place to save the game and don't risk getting wasted/busted in the process, thus spoiling your game stats) The method for collecting all 100 packages before doing any missions goes as follows: first, you gotta go to the bridge connecting Vice Point and Prawn Island, then wait for a boat passing underneath the bridge. Then you need to jump at the right moment and land on it (larger boats like Tropic or Reefer are better, cause it's harder to miss them. It's very difficult to land on Dinghy or Speeder). The owner will panic and bail out, jumping in the water, thereby getting themselves drowned (now, NPCs are not very smart in this game, are they... :D). Then you need to set ashore, either by going south to a pier in Little Haiti or by going all around Hyman Memorial Stadium, all the way to the sandy beach behind the Downtown bike track. After that you can just grab a news helicopter from the roof of the VCN building or a Police Maverick from the VCPD helipad. (Note: it's better to have at least a $1000 beforehand, so that you can buy the Hobo Shack and save the game in case you fail later.) After doing this, collecting the packages is a piece if cake, even those that are only available from the air - via a chopper... well, except when you fail, in which case a saved game file can come in handy. It's better to save after every 15-20 packages, just in case. And a last side-note: getting the one hidden inside Washington Beach police station (#15) is the hardest, because without a cop outfit - which is unlocked after the _"Cop Land"_ mission, much later in the game - all the officers start shooting at you, and you start to lose health points very quickly. That's why it's recommended to leave this one for the end. Also, the one behind Vice Point warehouse (#19) is locked behind the gate before the mission _"Riot"_ for Avery. That's why this one can be accessed via a heli, or by just parking a truck near the gate and jumping over it (then getting out by climbing the boxes nearby). But, after going through all that hassle, the rest of the game is much, MUCH easier with all the extra weapons at your disposal. By the way, the same can be done in GTA III, LCS and VCS, but it also requires trying out some tricks, and being patient with them until they work (like taking leaps to get to locked islands, or exploiting a subway glitch in case of GTA LCS). And luckily for the player - unlike in San Andreas or GTA IV - the wanted level does not appear after accessing these islands, cause y'know, police attention could be very disruptive and annoying when collecting these items. PS. Congrats if you read thru all of that, and made it this far.
Hey freind I have gotten the police station package without the cop outfit I just ran there with Armor and 150 health and just punched a dude coz he was blocking my way
The one at the police station isnt there until you get to a certain point of the story. I just got the mansion and met Love Fist and that package isnt there yet.
If you're going for the Take The Canoli via accuracy exploit, skip the following packages as they will lower your accuracy due to NPC potentially letting off rounds: 15 (police station), 51 and 52 (Diaz mansion), 66 to 76 (Little Haiti/Havana).
Thanks! It took me 3 hours or so, but I got ‘em all and the two achievements. (After I collected the very last one I was immediately executed by a bunch of soldiers from across the street. Haha).

Omg, the one I was missing was #12... I checked the area once before, thought it was gone, and moved on thinking i picked it up already! But it was deeper in the corner than I anticipated, lol. Thanks for the guide! 4 years later and it helped me out immensely! :D
Editing could have been better. Just to let you know for next time that it would be better to do all the ones in the helicopters first and then all the ones in the cars. Really annoying when the next one was a chopper and i had to go and find one. Also, rather than cut and edit individual ones it would be better if you did all the ones in an area at once. In some of them you came from a different direction to where i was from the last one and it confused the hell outta me. Other than that thanks. I found 99 of them.

Damn, it just came to my mind how long these kind of games were by the time they were released. I mean, nowadays you have a huge amount of videogames that are up to 80 hours long but back then, these were the real deal and in order to understand the magnitude of how long this game is you have to set back to its era. And also, something I wondered - how frustrating must have been the fact of finding all hidden packages for the first person that ever tried to do it...
Martín Capelli well you can look at the game files and it has to be in there and probably it would just locate the place itself already. The legit way would be the community way, really complicated
This game isn't long. Not even In the standards of then. Play any Rpg in the 80s or 90s way before gta vice city was released. Those games have like 100 hours of game play easy 😂

I always wondered how does he play at 60 fps (frame locker OFF) and without any handling issues. If I try to play with FPS lock OFF, the cars that I drive brake for themselves the moment I stop accelerating and they even struggle to turn on corners :(

I have 98 hidden packages in my current save file.; It's driving me nuts as to where the other 2 are at & I wouldn't be too surprised if they were right in front of me & thought that I had already collected them, by now... About half of them, I already know from memory that I collected shortly after I first got the game.

_"Some hidden packages can be collected only after completing specific storyline missions"_ - nope, that's not true at all. You can collect all of the packages without doing a single mission*. And I tested this a few years ago, when I installed and replayed VC on my new computer.
(*...okay, granted: doing the first one, i.e. obtaining the Ocean Beach safehouse is recommended, so that you have a place to save the game and don't risk getting wasted/busted in the process, thus spoiling your game stats)
The method for collecting all 100 packages before doing any missions goes as follows: first, you gotta go to the bridge connecting Vice Point and Prawn Island, then wait for a boat passing underneath the bridge. Then you need to jump at the right moment and land on it (larger boats like Tropic or Reefer are better, cause it's harder to miss them. It's very difficult to land on Dinghy or Speeder). The owner will panic and bail out, jumping in the water, thereby getting themselves drowned (now, NPCs are not very smart in this game, are they... :D).
Then you need to set ashore, either by going south to a pier in Little Haiti or by going all around Hyman Memorial Stadium, all the way to the sandy beach behind the Downtown bike track. After that you can just grab a news helicopter from the roof of the VCN building or a Police Maverick from the VCPD helipad.
(Note: it's better to have at least a $1000 beforehand, so that you can buy the Hobo Shack and save the game in case you fail later.) After doing this, collecting the packages is a piece if cake, even those that are only available from the air - via a chopper... well, except when you fail, in which case a saved game file can come in handy. It's better to save after every 15-20 packages, just in case.
And a last side-note: getting the one hidden inside Washington Beach police station (#15) is the hardest, because without a cop outfit - which is unlocked after the _"Cop Land"_ mission, much later in the game - all the officers start shooting at you, and you start to lose health points very quickly. That's why it's recommended to leave this one for the end. Also, the one behind Vice Point warehouse (#19) is locked behind the gate before the mission _"Riot"_ for Avery. That's why this one can be accessed via a heli, or by just parking a truck near the gate and jumping over it (then getting out by climbing the boxes nearby).
But, after going through all that hassle, the rest of the game is much, MUCH easier with all the extra weapons at your disposal.
By the way, the same can be done in GTA III, LCS and VCS, but it also requires trying out some tricks, and being patient with them until they work (like taking leaps to get to locked islands, or exploiting a subway glitch in case of GTA LCS). And luckily for the player - unlike in San Andreas or GTA IV - the wanted level does not appear after accessing these islands, cause y'know, police attention could be very disruptive and annoying when collecting these items. PS. Congrats if you read thru all of that, and made it this far.
You can just clip underneath the bridge in Prawn Island to bypass the Barriers.

The one at the police station isnt there until you get to a certain point of the story. I just got the mansion and met Love Fist and that package isnt there yet.

in the hidden pacakage 39 you can just aim at the window qnd it will break then get inside and get the hidden package
If you're going for the Take The Canoli via accuracy exploit, skip the following packages as they will lower your accuracy due to NPC potentially letting off rounds:
15 (police station), 51 and 52 (Diaz mansion), 66 to 76 (Little Haiti/Havana).

I had 99 for a while and thought I already picked up package 97 in the airport (there are multiple gates inside that look identical).

Editing could have been better. Just to let you know for next time that it would be better to do all the ones in the helicopters first and then all the ones in the cars. Really annoying when the next one was a chopper and i had to go and find one.
Also, rather than cut and edit individual ones it would be better if you did all the ones in an area at once. In some of them you came from a different direction to where i was from the last one and it confused the hell outta me.

Damn, it just came to my mind how long these kind of games were by the time they were released.
I mean, nowadays you have a huge amount of videogames that are up to 80 hours long but back then, these were the real deal and in order to understand the magnitude of how long this game is you have to set back to its era.
And also, something I wondered - how frustrating must have been the fact of finding all hidden packages for the first person that ever tried to do it...
Martín Capelli well you can look at the game files and it has to be in there and probably it would just locate the place itself already. The legit way would be the community way, really complicated

This game isn't long. Not even In the standards of then. Play any Rpg in the 80s or 90s way before gta vice city was released. Those games have like 100 hours of game play easy 😂

I always wondered how does he play at 60 fps (frame locker OFF) and without any handling issues. If I try to play with FPS lock OFF, the cars that I drive brake for themselves the moment I stop accelerating and they even struggle to turn on corners :(

I have 98 hidden packages in my current save file.; It's driving me nuts as to where the other 2 are at & I wouldn't be too surprised if they were right in front of me & thought that I had already collected them, by now...
About half of them, I already know from memory that I collected shortly after I first got the game.
