Here after the SNL cast announcement
My last name is Hakim. I've never heard of Wakim.
Nice ❤️
Highly recommend seeing Emil live (not on a censored national broadcast) kid is so funny. Big future ahead.
He just got picked as a cast member on SNL.
@@canaisyoung3601 Oh, no. Not another censored national broadcast...
I would call myself a hard judge of these comedians that appear on these talk shows, and I really enjoyed this guy. Didn't know where he would end up with a joke, but it all came around perfectly. Was interesting and kept my attention. Wish him all the best!
I revoke your title as “a hard judge of comedians”
lol that was cringy af
I would call myself a hard judge of these commenters that appear on these UA-cam videos, and I really enjoyed this one. Didn't know where he would end up with the comment, but it all came around perfectly. Was interesting and kept my attention. Wish him all the best!
@@jt48 Are you a parrot?
@@loveforeignaccents no
That was pretty damn good. Dude's f-ing 24. It was cool how he was poking the conversation in different spots versus beating it over the head with an anvil. I forget how dope that kind of comedy can be.
Emil went to my high school! south pride ;)
That is awesome!!
Did you forget?
If he went to Hinsdale South it explains why his act is garb.
@@Jerapocalpse oop looks like we got a Hinsdale Central alumnus in the comments
@@Jerapocalpse tf
Just not funny. I don’t know why. Its like Hasan Minhaj those things probably never happened. Playing the victim isn’t funny.
Uh oh the “y’all crowd” found this🤣
Not loving him being so insulting of the south and implying they’re all racist, but the rest is ok
This guy is funny… I think the audience weren’t sure exactly where to laugh though.
This guy is not funny, racial jokes are played out, seriously
I don’t think he is funny at all. He sucks.
This guy had such great delivery and had me laughing out loud at points 😭😂 so relatable!
"I worry that she's gonna be the one to do it"
LMAO favorite line!
Emil is hilarious and if you get a chance to watch him live - do it!
I wonder if he knows that there are black people in the south. We all say y’all. Lol weird take.
Lol true
And like all black people say, "yall" as far as I know.
I remember when woke white people stopped making fun of me for saying y'all and start saying it themselves.. Pretty much happened all in the same day 🤨
That "ya'll" bit was stupid. Im not from america yet even I know "ya'll" is said by white, black, latino, asian, etc.
Wait, so no one else thinks this is Thomas Middleditch ?
Is the audience asleep?
This dude got on SNL and Chloe Trost wasn't asked back?? The talent evaluators at SNL are on crack
A comic delivery done with intellect and intelligence. Excellent job (and refreshing).
For those wondering after the Israel-Palestine joke, he's actually Lebanese
Why does he look like 1996 justin timberlake & oscar isacc had a baby together
Oh wow 😳you’re right lol 😂
Can’t wait to see what else this guy’s got! Such a unique perspective!
I typed his name into YT, and he actually has a channel. Posted a video 12 days ago that I'll paste below and another video from 12 years ago.

Bro went on about the yall thing when he's completely wrong. Needs new material.
Clever.
He is funny 😁
Meh
So glad that a fellow Bloomingtonian is getting some love!
Nope. No good. Comedians that rely on their identity for ALL their laughs are a dime a dozen. Jerry Seinfeld doesn’t do all Jewish jokes. Chris Rock? He mixes it up. He does comedy based on being an African American but he also has something to say. Now this was just a few minutes but every joke was “I’m THIS” instead “what about THIS”. See the difference? Great comedy, truly great stand up comedy, has the comedian saying things everyone has thought but haven’t been able to put into words. That’s why Seinfeld is the GOAT. There’s only one comedian who has gotten away with making his comedy about his identity and it worked for him because he was a pioneer, it was new and fresh, and that’s Richard Pryor. Now should this guy tell jokes about being middle eastern? Sure. Go for it. But for that to be your entire act? It’s easy pickings. And don’t get me wrong, you can be very successful doing that. But you won’t move the needle. I would’ve loved for this guy to come up with some great “what’s the deal” bits, except with his own spin, but instead he goes right into the stereotype shit. Low hanging fruit.
“Y’all” makes me cringe. It sounds so ignorant to me.
Jeez, did you guys hear the same set I did??? This dude's wack 🤷🏻♂️
Agreed. I don't care about race jokes. Dave Chappelle does it and he's hilarious. But this guy absolutely sucks. None of his jokes were funny. I don't even think they were jokes. Even if he was just making statements, his statements were bullshit too.
Let’s go HOOSIERS!
This guy should be working in a bodega
good set emil :)
@jimmyfallon love you, you rock this show
I appreciate the hard work y'all do, the content,guests,comics,skits. A-z bro✅
This felt like fighting someone and knowing exactly what they’re going to do every time. That Y’all bit isn’t TV ready either lol
Could definitely see him an a comedy drama series.
Hopefully on the next season of Ramy!
More race-baiting, awesome.
Sad...
He reminds me of Michael Scott giving a speech or telling jokes, especially at the beginning.
Except Michael Scott would be funny in how terrible he is. This guy’s just terrible.
There was a trans cashier at a local grocery store. I asked, "Do you guys (something something, can't remember what I asked)" and she said, "Excuse me?" Not quite offended, but enough to make me pause. I wasn't even thinking about gender in that way. Guess that one really does bother some folks. I think "you" still works, because it's singular or plural, but then it's confusing which one you're referring to. You/ye was the original plural second person, with thee/thou being the original singular. That's why you takes are. "You are cool." So I think we've got to re-adopt thee/thou...
thats my cousin awesome, his normal set is much more risky so to speak they defiantly made him tone it down for tv lol
🥱
He really hit the pumpkin hummus. Don't get me wrong, this is what Levantine Arabs hate. A LOT. Ik that for a fact. Trust me. 😳
So funny!! I'd love to see Emil live!! 😂
Emil rules!
This was absolutely hilarious. Emil and I actually went to the same grade school, and I can tell you firsthand that everything he was saying was accurate. It was a different America back there, even for little kids. Hell, I’m Irish and even I don’t feel that in touch with my culture. Back there, it’s like heritage was always discussed as a topic, not as something that was actually a part of our identities. Anyways, Emil did an amazing job, hope more good things follow for him 🤘
Emil and I went to the same high school!
@@unscrupulousscrambledeggs338 He’s an awesome dude
That’s dope af, we’re second cousins 😭😭
"Not too bad!"
way to go Jimmy.
I hope you make it back to Northern Cali again soon. You kick ass!
damn...that was some savage live bombing.
As an aspiring comedian myself, watching a comedian who knows their jokes are good hold the audience hostage whilst they bomb without pandering is a great experience.
Black people say y’all tho
Looks like Thomas Middleditch (sort of)
Emil is the funniest and the nicest. Go see him anywhere you can
EMIL IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring him on again please
Killer! Let’s go Emil!
clappy humor
Faltering delivery, weak jokes that trailed off. Granted could be nerves but....
Great job Emil! Well done!
dude, never throw out hummus!
He is sooo good!
not funny
false
My boy! Well done Emil
nice job
Are the ppl liking this bots? Nothing about this set was funny. The Ya’ll thing wasn’t true. Plenty of southern black folks. The part about hummus was true but not funny really? Just kind of depressing maybe?
Agreed
The man
I was really hoping that last punchline would work... To the point that I started sweating a bit... And it did! Good job.
I'll be one of the first in the comments to say I genuinely despise where Emil got his start doing comedy in Bloomington, Indiana. It's one of the worst comedy clubs I've ever visited and the place has been made fun of by Anthony Jeselnik, Joe Rogan, and Steve Hofstetter at length. However, Emil has worked his ass off for this opportunity and he did absolutely amazing when you take into account that he was doing a 5 minute spot on a censored broadcast. If you ever get the chance, go see Emil when he's performing in your town/city. This video is mild in comparison to what he's capable of and he kills every time he's on stage.
and it's been called the best or one of the best club's in America by Jimmy Pardo, Todd Glass, Maria Bamford, Tig Notaro, Paul Riser, Amy Shumer, John Mulaney and many others. Some pretty big names continue to come to that tiny club in a small town year in and year out because they love the atmosphere and how the leadership of the club treats them.
@@timbertucker6445 So it's a great place for comedians over 50? Cool, so are bingo tournaments and nursing homes. If I want to hear Amy Schumer's latest jokes, I'll just ask the comics she stole them from.
@@TotallyOffensiveComedy You mean old guys like Emil Wakim? Or the Artist Formally known as Tom Brady? Jared and the attic have done an amazing job of supporting the local talent. In a few weeks the Limestone festival will celebrate 10 years of bringing amazing talent of primarily alternative comedians to your little town. Its not really the club’s fault that you did poorly and the audience didn’t vote you through at the club’s summer stand up competition. Don’t feel bad Emil didn’t win either, nor did the person who IMHO is the best joke writer in the area. BTW- Jeselnik (40-something) trashed the club on Joe Rogan’s (age 54) podcast, but Rogan had no comment. Anthony’s comments about Jared fanboying in the green room were stupid. If I owned the place I would definitely be fanboying in the green room, but Jared just wants to be left alone in there so he can watch the Cubs. He’s fair game to be trashed for replacing the jalapeño poppers with tater tots or refusing to play Santana before shows, but there is a reason he is able to attract such well known talent to that little club. Or that he has such a loyal following among young, local stand-ups. Fun fact: Emil asked Jared to be in the green room of the Tonight Show with him, but the big dork broke his ankle a couple days before and couldn’t make the trip.
You will have to link Hofstetter’s (40-something) comments cause no one seems to know what you are talking about.
@@timbertucker6445 Oh good grief, that competition was nearly 2 1/2 years ago and I was a first year comic who was way out of my depth and I couldn't hold the attention of a good room for more than 6 minutes at best. I had no business even doing that competition or being in that room. This is the internet, people disagree all the time. You can name drop all you want, but I'm going to side with people whose net worth equal 200x more than all the comics you've mentioned combined.
Dude, you're in a world-wide forum acting like Bloomington, Indiana of all places is some type of comedy Mecca. That in and of itself, is hilarious.
This is how I know I've matured. A couple years ago I would've given this a ton of attention and listed reasons and instances supporting my stance, and now I'm over here laughing because I said I didn't like a comedy club and Charles Grodin's sad stand in needs to don a white suit of armor and take up arms over it.
@@TotallyOffensiveComedy I like how your claim to not be giving this a ton of attention by, you know, giving it a ton of attention. But let's deconstruct shall we?
So your premise is that net worth determines whether someone is correct in their opinion? Does this also mean you side with Joe Rogan's opinions on public health, etc? Or was your premise that his high net worth makes him a better comic? Joe Rogan's net worth is not near 200x more than all the comics I mentioned combined (it's actually quite a bit LESS than those comics combined, but I understand math can be hard) but I'm guessing mine comes close to being that figure compared to yours. By your metric does that make my opinion more valid than yours? Or perhaps it makes me a better stand-up than you.
I didn't call The Comedy Attic a comedy mecca, you confused me with Marc Maron. That's not even a paraphrase. His exact quote about the club was "a comedy Mecca." In the past couple years two young stand-ups have gone from open mics at the attic to the tonight show. That's pretty impressive. Tonight I will go see by my count the the 6th SNL cast member do a set at that club. Doubt that will happen at Hoppy Wobbles anytime soon.
I appreciate the Charles Grodin comparison. He always had an "elitist prick" vibe that I strive for. I'm not going to strike back by disparaging your act. That wouldn't be fair since I've not seen it. Perhaps one year your submission to Limestone will be approved and I can check out your set. If you are interested in being a part of the Limestone Comedy festival let me know. I often have some extra tickets.
Emil, your no schlemiel.
I get your Y'all take.
And all what you say.
If you are Muslim, qad yakun allah maeak.
He’s missing some context stuff, but he’s definitely hilarious.
I love that they gave a standing ovation because it was quite brilliant tbh
Such a funny dude! Great set! Emil Rules!
Boring. 🍅

@@unscrupulousscrambledeggs338 he was just self-identifying 😘
Nice fade 💈 💯
When they ask "where y'all from", there are ABSOLUTELY some wrong answers to that!
Might be NYC, L.A., Israel, Pakistan, Germany...the South, Mexico, Honduras...middle east takes the cake though ;)
Not
Funny
Solid set!
Funny guy
Why are there so many positive comments? I thought he was so bad and made inappropriate and stupid jokes, especially the y’all and all joke. Was digging himself into a deeper and deeper hole bringing up that stuff so poorly
This dude is performing tonight in my town for New Years in a comedy show and I want to go but I also want to laugh so Catch 22. Guess I will not go.
Ed Harken
👌
Seems more like a guy with the wit to sell me a time share than a comedian.
he's cute
😂
Never going to get that time back

Damn!! Jimmy said: "Great gowns, beautiful gowns.."
I actually just gained so much respect that he didn't bullshit the guy that the jokes were good.

“Congrats Everyone Who Is Early & Found This Comment!” ☘️💰🔎
Me
This was the deepest set Ive heard in a long time. I laughed but i also wanted to stand up and give him an ovation lol.
That was terrible y'all...
Better delivered with more deadpan, I think. Has promise
He at first looked to me like a more Jewish Jerry Seinfeld, but somehow more Muslim too. 😂
I know you see what I'm sayin! 😂
Seinfeld is half syrian
Not funny
Too bad he hasn’t learned good microphone technique.
lol What!?
Totally bombed but still made laps around Hanna Gadsby so the sky is the limit.
Lollllll
This crowd wasn't ready for these jokes
Cool dude
