Pastor you are the only one who has nailed this. I do not like nor have liked Father’s Day for as long as I can remember. My dad was emotionally and physically abusive towards me growing up. I raised my daughters as a single mom in an apartment in his large house. $ and outside appearances are important to my dad. My daughters’ dad was absent. My dad pulled a Jacob and favored my kids furthering his distain for me the black sheep because I was not the performer he wanted me to be. Healing and know now my Heavenly Father is not my earthly dad.
What you are dealing with is a generational curse. Forgive your dad, and break that curse over your family. I bet if you looked at your dads, dad he ether knew him, or his dad was probably abusive as well. Many of men out here not boys, but men are really trying to be something we have never seen. My Lord this sermon was an amazing word. One of the best Fathers Day sermon I have ever heard! And while Im in my healing stages, isolated to myself and working on forgiving people, including my father who may I add is a good man, he just wasn't my protector and still fail to be there for me emotionally. He has healing that is waiting on him that he continues to try to ignore. Thank God I am healing. Thank God for this word!!!!!!!!! Thank God for the steps Im making to change the cycles I pray my children will never see or prolong in as I did.
