I just booked an Airbnb (yday) in Calgary for a week. If I've seen your video, I probably would've booked yours (if available) 😊

Recent changes to tax laws etc must be frustrating for Airbnb owners. The whole housing issue has people looking to scapegoat someone. I think the hedge funds need to get out of residential properties and free up that stock for regular people to live. Massive Hedge Funds like Blackrock bought 25% or so of the US residential real Estate in last few years as a hedge against inflation. In Canada now they are scapegoating international students who actually bring in Billions to the country instead of taking on the real culprits of the housing crisis.

Greed is the cause of many of the problems in the world right now. And you seem to be one of those kinds of people. I don't want to own five houses to only live in the one and rent the other four to people who can't afford to buy a house because of greedy people like you who cause the houses prices to skyrocket. I would rather own just one house and let other people who don't own any house buy the other houses.

I get your concerns, but not everyone is in a position to own a home or even wants to. Some people prefer the flexibility of short-term rentals, and I’m providing a housing solution that meets their needs. It’s not about greed, it’s about offering options. As an investor, I provide homes for both long-term and short-term rental, giving people who can’t or don’t want to buy a place to live. Without people like me, many would struggle even more to find housing that suits their lifestyle or financial situation. Instead of seeing it as taking away ownership, it’s about filling a gap and providing a service.
