Everyone is focusing on Rey Dau, but I really like Doshaguma. Especially with the whole “separate the alpha” part of the fight, I think it’s really neat. Rey Dau just feels like calmer Astalos to me. He’s a cool design, but the fight is… fine🤷♂️
I think the "separate the alpha" is an obvious and advertised thing, not a mechanic you learn by fighting the monster. This in lead makes it nice the first few times, but just becomes tedious to repeat.
Just fought Rey Dau rn with a sword and shield was so fun until he glitched and started flying in the air and wouldn’t come down . Also love his roar sounds like an elephant and a whale mix together.
I watched you about to get a nice Charged Chop off and your sword bounced due to sharpness levels... That always sucks! Nice job though. I am regretting not giving Sword and Shield more of a chance during Beta. I don't need flashy. I just want something that is strong and versatile.
What are your thoughts on SnS now that you've played it some more? I know it wasn't super favorable early on in the Wilds beta stuff. I am a longtime SnS main who much preferred World to Rise, so it does feel a bit off to me in places, but I've not been hating it so far. I was really hoping to see it more grounded though, with a heavier focus on balancing shield moves with sword moves, like making the shield bash combo(the non-air stuff) more competitive for if you're going after KOs. Do you happen to know if its had the KO potential improved any? Or is it still just not worth it to use the shield bashes?
I feel like it demands super high uptime to match other weapons at normal play, nothing with too much bite although spinning reaper and charged slash do hit pretty hard and fire out fast too. The block being so powerful is awesome! I'll have to give it more time but overall I'm not particularly fussed on it
What is that opening move you do? At 1830 it looks similar to the charged triangle and circle but doesn't do the downward drag through? Its just a stab? Please help haha
How can you close your group so randoms can't join mid hunt? I had random players ruining every attempt on Rey Dau throughout the whole first beta test.
When you talk to Alma, go to settings and change max number of players to 1. You won’t even be able to ‘summon’ NPC hunters using an SOS flare as far as I’ve noticed
Everything is nice and stuff but why the shield block is so potent? The shield aspect of the SNS was never that strong. I'll be very surprised if remains that good in the full game.
Maybe to make it actually useful and bring the weapon in line with others? I'm not sure myself, but I really enjoyed having a powerful block on it (as you saw haha)
@LightItUpDan that would be great and all but if I am not mistaken I have seen Rurikan die to the biggest lighting because he couldn't block it it while you blocked it with the small shield. Something does not add up. Otherwise I have nothing against having a useful block - it's actually the last piece of of the puzzle to make SNS a top top tier weapon.
I'm not gonna lie, sword and shield is probably second worst or worst weapon in terms of damage dealing, the numbers are very low, usually it's offset by the speed of it, but right now it doesn't even feel faster than a longsword. Good thing is now that you can do perfect block, but you can't block two big attacks in a row with that either, which is a pity.

Both cool for different reasons!
2 more hours for my Xbox and PC brothers and sisters!!!
How did you find it?
@LightItUpDan 11/10. If that performance is smoothed out i think we are all in for a masterclass of Monster Hunter.
amazing job , keep going dan
Cheers boss!
Saw it live, it was great!
I didn't do this run live mate! I recorded it after the stream
Oh I saw the hammer one tho I probably got confused
@@LexRoosenbeek that was recorded offline too haha, your right I did go up against Rey Dau with Hammer on stream!

I enjoyed giving everything a spin! I didn’t have as much time as I would’ve liked actually playing it, hopefully we’ll get a demo before release

I need optimal combo for SnS I felt that this game Perfect Rush was a lil bit slower than World
I like using reaper slash instead of the final vaulting hit of perfect rush, then doing charged slash

sneak attack i think
@Rmason3156 THERES SNEAK ATTACK IN THIS? WTF?
I haven’t watched it back but pretty sure it’s sneak attack
Rey Dau was easier to hunt his movements were easy to predict.
Its attacks are strongly telegraphed and mostly easy to read, still caught me the odd time though!
Finally SNS!!

Im having a hard time performing the perfect rush. After the stepback, my character always slashes forward and not performing the technique
I just learned that you hold circle when you jump back you can just press triangle and it'll do it every time
make sure you have landed the backhop as well, if you attack to early you will do the advancing slash every time
You need to hold circle when you back step
Thank you. Did perfect rushes everytime now. 🤣
That is litteraly the malkarion from dauntless
😅

you have to post it by yourself in a quest with the handler. once you beat ray dau once it should pop up

@@travisa20 God bless you 🙏🏻
@travisa20 you can set the sos flare too npc only

Yeah, they should bring back the damage of perfect rush. It feels so weak this time around compared to world.
It can dish out really nice sustained damage, but the uptime needed for that is kinda mad
After the big attacks rey dau head grows red, you can focus strike them
Like the tongue for chata
How much of the video did you watch? 😅
Not much, just did it myself
@@kenneththong2167 right, well it's shown a lot in the video, bit weird for you to leave a comment like that when you didn't bother watching much
Haha, just thought to tell others like me heh
