In my opinion, this team became a contender when AG showed up. His win-first mentality and the way he bought into being here was almost too good to be true. Too bad some guys got hurt or this wouldn't be their first finals appearance.
Y'all gonna disagree with me but he's the Nuggets' most important player in these Finals. We know Jokic and Murray gonna do their thing but Aaron Gordon is their best defensive player and they need to rely on him being the defensive anchor of this team.
Problem with Luka is that they gave him the wheel to play the way he wants, but he still does not impact the game enough. Another problem is if he looked for another team, like AG did? AG stepped down from being the main guy to being a kind of a role player for the Nuggets, i don't think Luka's ego would allow him to do that because he built his game around his ego.
