The guy who played Luke gave some of the most powerful acting I’ve ever watched. Such a beautifully damaged character but I couldn’t help but love him.
@Arcann Z That's what he meant. The viewers have the control now. They don't have to wait one week for next episode. They can just finish it in one go or whatever the way they like.
Oh I totally agree, she was great in this. Was watching it today (for the second time) and noticing her face....she shows such good emotion, can exhibit such terror in her face. Beautiful but can show terror in her eyes. Very talented actress to say the least.....Victoria Pendretti
All the sibilings look like each other am I crazy? Both the old and the young? They even have resemblances to their om-screen parents???? 👏👏👏 Props to the casting team👏👏👏
Every episode was so amazing and twisted in the best way. My favorite episodes were Theo's episode and Nell's episode. Theo's episode was so interesting, and I love her character, and Nell's episode was so heartbreaking, but the thought behind it was incredible. Like when she was dancing in the house with her "husband" and her "family" was there, that just broke me. All of these actors/actresses portrayed their characters perfectly, like they were all so amazing!!
Those two but Luke’s story hit so close to home for me and it was my second viewing when it dawned on me that he was so cold because of Nell’s story line. How I missed it the first time I have no clue but the second time I had to stop watching because it hurt so badly. What a great series that was so understandable.
Just finished binging the show in 24 hours lol, best show i've watched by a mile. Acting, cinematography, scares, the emotional storyline, storytelling, everything is just so on point! 👌
@@finps9786 Was seriously awesome though. Really wanted to know if it was just me that liked it this much or everyone else too. It's nice knowing others watched it in one day too.
Being completely honest, that final reveal of the Bent Neck Lady, was so tragically horrifying that it brought me to literal tears. The fact that young Nell was only fearing her future self just sends chills down my spine.
i heard that too....and i watched that last episode a few times...the only thing that felt off was the way Olivia was looking at Steven when the red door closed...but she's crazy anyway and wants him and everyone else to "wake up" lol
@@SiN-SpinS I was thinking more on the lines of the father passing down the secret and Hill House to Steven. Having him to deal with his own family and Hill House. Plus the house still wants to "eat"... So those could be setups, but who knows... I would definitely watch it tho. Maybe October 2020 to give enough time for Flanagan to put work into another amazing script.
This show is so underrated. I thought at first it's gonna be cheesy as I hate 'yellow' and blur filter. Damn I was wrong! The plottwist of The Bent-Neck Lady just blown my mind. American Horror Story should learn from show like this. It's not about gore or super-edgy stuff. Just good script writing and 'modest' look of the ghosts. It makes more creepier. So good! 👌🏻
Its currently the 26th best rated TV show of all time on IMDB. So not sure about underrated. :) A lot of horror stuff is continually underrated as well because people will rate it low just because they got scared.
I mean they didn't get much attention like some of other show from netflix original until people start to talk about it on social media. I do agree with you on the low rating especially in horror category movie.
American horror story's plots are really good. Maybe u just watched hotel, which I agree has a lot of gore. But otherwise, pls watch apocalypse before coming to a conclusion.
i'm sitting in the living room of my apartment right now at 1 am. It's pitch black all around me and I just finished watching episode 5... the bent neck lady. I am absolutely terrified.
Narekaci Shahbazyan no. Terrified by the atmosphere of the show itself. Terrified by the revelation at the end of the episode. You sound like you’d be real fun at parties
@@prim34ev So you're terrified by the plot? Because I understand that, what I don't understand is how adults are scared of stuff like ghosts and demons, when they've never seen them.
Really well made show from Netflix....It actually lives up to the hype...Episode 5, 8 and 9 were freakin amazing !!! Scared the crap outta me...wait till you see Nell on episode 8 in the car !!!! HOLY SHIT!!!
I would highly recommend this show and will stress that it is more than just a horror show because it is about family, love and loss. The cast were fantastic (child actors in particular were outstanding) but I loved the camera work and these subtle creepy bits. Sooooooo good!
This is one of Netflix's greatest productions. I can't say a single negative thing about the plot, the actors, or any of the scenes. It was just so wonderfully and beautifully produced. The way the scenes were shot were terrifying and every show left you wondering what would happen in the next episode. I really hope there's a season 2!
I’m glad they didn’t hire super well known actors and actress. I think it gives the audience an easier time to “characterize” those actors and actresses
As a twin myself, watching Luke and Nell's relationship as younglings it's almost a replica of how I'm with my own twin now. When they say "It's a twin thing" it's true, but I can definitely say close siblings would feel similar if not the same. Victoria Pedretti, considering it was her first role on film, was absolutely, and moreso undeniably incredible. With Luke, that performance was beyond. I've known addicts and it's amazing to see how he displays desperation but underlying love. "She was always my big sister" says more than therapy could ever know or understand.
A day after my beloved dog of 17 years passed away I saw her adorable little face staring at me while I was doing my hair. I just looked up and there she was. So, yeah. I'm a believer.
I watched the entire series in one night and kept watching it again and again. What makes it so different from other typical Hollywood horrors is that I think it has that natural human touch. Ghost is not essentially a seperate entity but it's the negativity inside. I loved the Crain family and related with my family as to how you eventually leave behind all the differences and get together for each other. I cried many times just thinking about the show. God bless all the makers
"The Haunting of Hill House" I loved it not shallow and empty like a lot of shows we get.... This was deep and intelligent with really good writing, you can't switch off the brain while watching (put your cell phone down) or you will miss things and the story will fly over your head, really made me think about family, death and life and i loved it so much! I hope we don't get anymore seasons because it was perfect with just the one imo 10/10 some of the best tv i've seen in years felt in a lot of ways like a stephen king novel (don't watch it if you don't want to be challenged)
What really grabbed me with this series was how well the actors portrayed their characters. Each one of them killed it, especially Luke and Nell. This could have easily been a prime-time hit on National TV.
One of the best shows I have seen in my life. Acting brilliant on every single level. Just awesome. Id love for them to find a concept worthy enough for a season 2.
Not going to lie I cried at the end lol, this is one of the best series I've ever watched as the storyline is absolutely incredible, I've told so many people about it and they've all said the same, I really hope they do a second series where they go into the origins of the house and why it is the way it is ect.
The way they showed each characters perspective tie into one another had me changed the way I looked at each character... especially the mom & dad. They were amazing!
Haunting Of Hill House is one of the best series on Netflix right now, hands down! It was a beautifully written story and it makes you feel every emotion. Takes you so many places in your mind. I can't wait for more!
Luke's episode was by far my favorite! I feel like this show was very honest about what it's like to deal with addiction and watching Luke fight his demons struck a major cord with me!
I LOVED Timothy's acting for this series. It was so fluent and believable. And I also loved victorias monolog towards the end of the series when all the kids were in the red room.
Just binge watched over a few days, absolutely terrifying while situated in a very believable family. Gut wrenching and simply heart breaking conclusion. Slow burn and jump scares, dysfunctional family melodrama and a multiplicity of flash forwards and backs. A brilliant collective achievement. Left this middle aged man in tears.
I will never get over the fact that the casting was absolutely perfect. Outstanding acting and the fact that they all actually look alike which gives the perfect family aspect. Can’t wait for season 2
I feel personally victimized and called out: “there are people that’ll do that [binge-watching in a single night].” It was an AMAZING series with intense character archs, intriguing cinematography, and never failed to keep me on my toes throughout!
I just saw an interview with the cast and director. He explained that at the end of the 1st season there are some easter eggs that set up a 2nd season: "Very, very slight; they're not so obvious. Again, it's [writer] Mike [Flanagan] being a genius. There's something in the background somewhere. It probably feels like it closed a book, but if you look closer it's very much not closed."
When Hugh, Olivia, and Nell hug each other as the door closes in Steve's face in the final episode, Olivia has her eyes open - looking at Steve. It's weird because Hugh isn't facing Steve and Nell looks finally happy and has her eyes closed. It's really creepy, as if she still believes her kids need to "wake up" It's a total, dead-eyed, emotionless stare. But I might be reading too much into it.
I think its the clockmaker. There has to be something there, he is the only ghost steve sees and wrote about. Which is why hugh says steve is the last person who should go back there, because he exposed the clockmaker

It was the best TV show that I have watched on Netflix! The characters including the child actors and the adults were real and genuine. Also, the story was incredible and suspenseful. 10/10. Brilliant :)
I absolutely loved the series, however i really don't want a second season. I feel like this is as great as it's going to be. I don't want it to be ruined by adding a second season.
This was apparently the actress behind Nell's first job straight out of school? That has to be a lie. She's way too good for this to be her first role. She played her part so well that Nelli was my favorite character!
The actors/actresses in this series did an amazing job at being "scared", the blank struggled expressions were spot on, and the emotion they put into it was amazing
It is scary not gonna lie but mostly at the beginning (first few episodes) but than you go deeper and understand the meaning behind scary stuff it becomes more of a drama
I watched it all in two days, one of the best TV shows ever. The best thing about it is anyone can watch it and get something, if you are a believer or not. I am an atheist and a sceptic so ghost stories don’t really interest me or have an effect on me, but this show gave me goosebumps. It’s not the ghosts that are scary, it’s the psychological aspects, the mind. This show explains what ghosts truly are, grief, anger, wishes etc.
So interesting to listen to what the actors had to say. I read this book by S. Jackson when I was a teenager. It was the first horror novel I read when growing up and at the time I was on vacation with my family. The book scared me silly but I couldn’t put it down. When on vacation I made my Mom come sleep with me because I was afraid to be by myself. The book still echoes in my memory. The Netflix special brought all the memories of the book back. Fantastic job by the actors and producers.
I like how there is compassion for the subject of mental illness in the show. I initially was skeptical about the series. But I am hooked because it is not just schlock horror nonsense. Its very deep and nuanced for a horror series. I am very impressed. Can't wait for season 2.
It startled the cr** out of us it didn't scare us. I mean we got to a point where we were just so emotionally invested, and so into their drama that we did not see that coming. LOL
A truly terrifying experience and loved every episode! So much depth and substance to the story and the characters, everything about the show was absolutely stunning! 10 horrifying hours of viewing I wish I could experience and watch again from the very start!

I absolutely loved the series, however i really don't want a second season. I feel like this is as great as it's going to be. I don't want it to be ruined by adding a second season.
If this is Victoria 1rst job. She is the best newcomer I have ever seen.
Kate is like a mixture of Angelina Jolie and Christina Hendricks. She's stunning!
This was apparently the actress behind Nell's first job straight out of school? That has to be a lie. She's way too good for this to be her first role. She played her part so well that Nelli was my favorite character!
This interviewer asked many good, well thought-out questions.
It took me three days complete the series. I absolutly adore it.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how incredibly cute and sexy Luke is... 😆
yas
Theo's wardrobe 😍😍😍
Kate fangirling over his husbands is amazing 😂
the way Oliver looks at Elizabeth... kinda goals.
The actors/actresses in this series did an amazing job at being "scared", the blank struggled expressions were spot on, and the emotion they put into it was amazing
I binge watched it in 3 days it's amazing and i'm not even a fan of horror
Me too.
Is it very scary? I'm not a fan either but this has such good reviews.
It is scary not gonna lie but mostly at the beginning (first few episodes) but than you go deeper and understand the meaning behind scary stuff it becomes more of a drama
I finished it the day i started it
I watched it all in two days, one of the best TV shows ever.
Binged it for a day and now I'm sad it's finished :(
So interesting to listen to what the actors had to say.
This is SUCH a well crafted show. Reminds me a bit of how they did Six Feet Under.
Amazing show. Sometimes I felt like I was watching Six feet Under, This is Us and The Conjuring all together.
@@FSouza-ny5ts ha ha spot on yes 👍👍
My mom and I watched it in 3/4 days, it is amazing!!!!!! Anyone freak out at that one scene in eps 8?
Andy Almaghrabi when they’re in the car? Lol
YASSSSSS! OMG
Andy Almaghrabi that wasn’t even scary tho
It startled the cr** out of us it didn't scare us. I mean we got to a point where we were just so emotionally invested, and so into their drama that we did not see that coming. LOL
I watched all of the episodes in 3 days. Amazing. Can’t wait for more
I’m sorry but is it just me or is Michiel Huisman a beautiful, beautiful man😍 amazing show.

10 horrifying hours of viewing I wish I could experience and watch again from the very start!

First time seeing Stefan Pape interviewing someone and he's really good imo, like he had good, insightful and interesting questions
Am i the only one who was actually afraid of the mother????? She's my favorite character tho but still lol
